The Georgia Mountains Region or North Georgia mountains or Northeast Georgia is an area that starts in the northeast corner of Georgia, United States, and spreads in a westerly direction. The mountains in this region are in the Blue Ridge mountain chain that ends in Georgia. At over 1 billion years of age, the Blue Ridge mountains are among the oldest mountains in the United States and sometimes mistaken to be the oldest mountains in the world (they are only about one third of the age of South Africa's 3.6 billion year old Barberton greenstone belt.). The mountains in this region are also a part of the vast system of North American mountains known as the Appalachian Mountains that spans most of the United States longitudally along the eastern areas of the nation and terminates in Alabama.
The region is known for its ruggedness and scenic beauty. The Cherokee who lived in these mountains called them ᏌᏆᎾᎦ/Sah-ka-na'-ga - Blue Smoke Mountains. Large portions of the North Georgia mountains are included in the more than 750,000 acres (3,000 km2) that comprise the Chattahoochee National Forest.

While the 'City Of Roots' has been historically a grossly underrated destination, it's quickly becoming a must-visit city in the United States. Raleigh is steeped in history, but it's also known for its youthful energy and eclectic community. It's also a city well-known for dishing out some of the best BBQ in the nation, but its culinary chops aren't exclusively limited to smoked meats. Raleigh is also home to numerous world-class restaurants and boasts a vibrant and lively nightlife.
Raleigh is also a very affordable place to visit or live. And even though Raleigh isn't known for being that big of a tourist destination, that doesn't mean that there aren't plenty of interesting and entertaining things to do and sights to see there. We'll cover 13 of these attractions in this video.

Clayton, GA (DJI Mavic Pro Footage)
The beautiful city of Clayton, Georgia is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains - east of Hiawassee and south of Mountain City. Clayton is the county seat of Rabun County and has a little over 2,000 people for population based on the 2010 census.
The Dividings was the name given to this area today called Clayton. The Cherokee people gave this name to the area because it sat at the intersection of 3 important Cherokee people trails. In 1775 , explorer and naturalist William Bartram came through the dividings and was the first to start the development of the area. Later on after Clayton has been established , 2 of the main cherokee trails were improved - which are the main roads today as Highway 76 and 23/441.
In 1821 , Claytonsville was founded - but only held that name until 1823 - when the name was changed to Clayton. The city is named for a jurist and congressman, Augustin S. Clayton. Augustin served in both the Georgia House of Representatives and Georgia Senate. Later he was elected as a US representative from Georgia in 1831 to 1835. The history continues on if you love to see the path the city went to the current state today.
Clayton offers a lot of fun and scenic things to do - rather it is hiking or enjoy the lakes are all around. The view in and around Clayton are awesome and I hope you enjoy the view from a bird's eye view!

ABOUT US
Hi! We are high school sweethearts from Atlanta, Georgia who decided to take a year off to travel around the world. Together we decided to create vlogs for our journey as a fun way to remember it. On September 15, 2019, we left Atlanta with 3 bags, 2 one-way tickets, and 1 goal of traveling for a whole year. Little did we know, 6 months later we would find ourselves in a nationwide lockdown in India. After spending 5 months in India, we came back to the United States and decided to purchase a 34’ Trawler, dive headfirst into boat life, and kick-off America’s Great Loop.
The good, the bad, the ugly – and most importantly, the real and real funny. We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.”, just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem.
Thank you for following us along our journey!
