Was Noah Actually a GIANT!? 😮 (Noah's Ark) 🇹🇷 | Solo Travel Cizre | Turkey Travel Vlog (Ep. 20)
I visited the gravesite of Noah (from Noah's Ark)! I didn't even know there was a gravesite for Noah until I arrived at my hotel! I traveled from Mardin to Cizre, Turkey. Cizre is located directly on the border with Syria. Cizre is part of Mesopotamia.
One thing particularly interesting about the casket is that it's absolutely massive! I would guess about 15 feet long! So was Noah a Giant? Or did the government just randomly put a normal sized man in a abundantly large casket for some other reason? This situation seems a bit peculiar! Anyway, I will let you decide.
Besides Noah, I got a chance to explore Cizre, and met a lot of local people. All of which, I needed to use use my translator to communicate. It's so much fun!
I had to navigate through local transportation, met and talked with my kind hotel staff, met a man at lunch with the same name as me, walked around the castle of Cizre, talked with some kids selling corn, watched an old man accidently hit his grandson with a fishing net, walked to the river, met some kids selling cotton candy, had some nasty lemonade with milk, and walked in another park during the sunset. Definitely a cool day!

November 2020. Eastern Turkey. Here’s a two-day drive through the provinces Hakkâri (Kurdish: Colemêrg), Şırnak (Şirnex), and Siirt (Sêrt). At this time, since August 2020, USA had a Level 4 (highest level) travel advisory warning against travel in this region due to terrorist attacks, alleged arbitrary detention by Turkish security forces, and proximity to problems in Syria. While I can’t say whether or not the advisory is/was unfounded, I CAN report that the food is delicious and the people friendly, with beautiful scenic backdrops. A return longer visit is in order.

İsmail Ebul-iz El Cezeri Museum
Best place for a Museum and holiday destinations in Şırnak
Physicist, robot and matrix master scientist İsmail Ebul-iz El-Cezeri, who was born in the Tor neighborhood of Cizre in 1136, completed his education at the Camia Madrasa, concentrated on the fields of physics and mechanics and made many principles and inventions, and is considered the founder of the field of Cybernetics. Our Municipality has initiated efforts to build a museum in his name.
Examples of Cezeri’s machines and inventions will be exhibited in the museum to be established in the headquarters building in Bırca Belek. Our District Governor and Deputy Mayor, Davut Sinanoğlu, stated that they will undertake an important cultural service as a Municipality in our district, where the process of establishing a Museum Directorate is ongoing, and said: “We decided to establish a museum in order to recognize a genius like our fellow citizen Cezeri, to know his contributions to our civilization and humanity, and to inspire young generations on this occasion.” We decided. Landscaping, lighting and some maintenance and repair works continue in Bırca Belek. In parallel with these studies, we ordered machines, robots and other works to be exhibited at the Cezeri Museum. “If God allows, the museum work will be completed in the summer.”
Museum Officer Haşim Yürük said that the museum, whose establishment started in 1997, gained official status in 2017 with the approval of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and shared the following about the İsmail Ebul-iz El Cezeri Museum. There are thousands of archaeological and ethnographic artifacts reflecting Cizre’s cultural identity dating back 6000 years.
