Chiavari is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Genoa, in Italy.
Chiavari, after Rapallo, is the city with the most inhabitants in Tigullio, and the most important city of the Riviera di Levante, after Genova.
In fact, for many years, it has been talked about the establishing a “Fifth Province” in Liguria, called the “Province of Tigullio” , with Chiavari as the capital city.
Chiavari is a real gem in the Riviera, with many things to see and do.

The Chiavari Antiques Market(Flea Market) is one of the most anticipated events in the town of Tigullio. For more than thirty years, hundreds of exhibitors have been meeting on the second Sunday of the month and the Saturday preceding it, to exhibit their treasures from the past. Not only objects, furniture and modern antiques, but also postcards, maps, clothing; all inserted in a characteristic setting, between alleys and historic streets. Furthermore, on Sundays, some artists exhibit their works within the “Street artists” event.

Chiavari - Liguria in 4K
Chiàvari è un comune italiano della città metropolitana di Genova in Liguria. Centro commerciale del Tigullio, è la terza città per numero di abitanti del territorio metropolitano dopo Genova e Rapallo.
La città si affaccia sul mar Ligure della Riviera di Levante, posizionandosi geograficamente al centro del golfo del Tigullio, ad est di Genova.
Il nucleo urbano è situato alla destra del fiume Entella, che qui sfocia al termine della piana alluvionale, dividendo ad est la città dall'attigua Lavagna.
Ho trascorso 5 splendidi giorni in questa elegante città con i caratteristici caruggi liguri ed un bellissimo lungomare e porto turistico. Ho ancora il ricordo dei sapori: la buonissima focaccia, il pesto, le verdure ripiene ed ovviamente il pesce.
Il video è un omaggio alla città ed è stato realizzato con tecniche tradizionali e timelapse. Spero di aver fatto cosa gradita ai suoi cittadini e a tutti quelli che amano Chiavari e la Liguria.

Chiavari, città della Liguria è una delle località del levante genovese più conosciute, poiché oltre al grande porto turistico e alle varie spiagge attrezzate ha un clima molto mite che la trasforma in meta di villeggiatura anche nei mesi più freddi. Le principali caratteristiche della città sono: l'antica Clavarium (chiave delle valli) si trova al centro del golfo del Tigullio, nella piana alluvionale formata dal torrente Entella, in posizione favorevole alle comunicazioni con il versante padano. I resti di una necropoli risalente all'VIII e VII secolo a.C. vicino alla foce del torrente Rupinaro testimoniano che la zona era abitata dai Liguri Tigulli già in età preromana. I reperti rinvenuti sono custoditi nel Civico Museo Archeologico allestito nel palazzo Costaguta Rocca.
La fondazione del borgo fortificato di Chiavari avvenne nel 1178, quando i Genovesi decisero una politica di espansione nel Levante per contrastare la potenza dei Fieschi. Sono ancora visibili i ruderi del castello del 1147. Sul luogo dove c'era la Cittadella, fortezza quattrocentesca dei Genovesi di cui rimane la torre merlata (1537), sorge il palazzo di Giustizia (1886).
Vicino allo storico municipio e al palazzo episcopale, sede del museo diocesano, si trova il santuario di Nostra Signora dell'Orto, cattedrale seicentesca; all'interno molte opere settecentesche provenienti da istituzioni monastiche soppresse dopo la rivoluzione francese.
La parrocchiale di San Giovanni Battista, originaria del 1182, fu ricostruita nel 1624 e conserva opere di pregio, tra cui tele del Piola, del Carlone, del Fiasella e del De Ferrari, gli affreschi del presbiterio, il coro ligneo (1631) e un crocifisso del Maragliano.
L'ex chiesa duecentesca di San Francesco, ristrutturata nel 1630 per volere della famiglia Costaguta, su disegno di Bartolomeo Bianco, è utilizzata per manifestazioni culturali.La chiesa di San Giacomo di Rupinaro risale al XVII secolo, importanti il duecentesco palazzo dei Portici Neri.
