Lazio, Italy | City of Rome, Viterbo, Latina, Rieti, Frosinone | 4k drone video | Lazio what to see
Lazio, Italy. The Italian region of Lazio is considered the darling of Italy. And why? Firstly, it is here that Rome is located - the capital of Italy. For many centuries, the region was protected by providence itself. The spirit of ancient history reigns everywhere here, the region is saturated with the traditions of the past, stuffed with architectural masterpieces. Watch a 4k bird's-eye drone video on youtube and you'll immediately want to go to Lazio.
general information
Along with the ancient amphitheaters, villas and the famous Colosseum, which are located in Rome, Lazio has a huge number of unique historical sites that are of world value. The region is located on the coast of the Tirenian Sea and is rich in vineyards and olives.
Capital
Rome has been awarded a variety of epithets. The city is called both the eternal city and the city on seven hills. The city has been known throughout the world since ancient times. The city really spread out on the hills and absorbed several eras, ranging from the heyday and power of the empire, to a loud fall and a new heyday. Charming narrow streets smoothed with cobbled stone polished by millions of tourists' feet, as well as sacral monuments.
How to get there
As the people say: All roads lead to Rome. The Lazio region can be reached both by plane and by car. Also, there are trains. Many tourists from Europe prefer to travel to Lazio by cruise ship, rail, ferry or bus.
Nature (landscapes, beautiful places)
According to rumor, all the landscapes in Lazio were created by the gods themselves. One can only admire how magnificent the nature in the region is. Wherever tourists come, everywhere is insanely beautiful landscapes. Not without reason, she has always admired the masters of the brush and poets. Come to mind the mythology of ancient Rome, where amazing landscapes are everywhere.
Main provinces of the region
The province of Latina is quite suitable for a family holiday. Here, which is located in the central part of the Pontic Plain, there are a lot of ancient castles and fortresses. Do not miss visiting the islands of Ponza and Ventotene and the well-equipped beach area. Most of it is the Aurunci mountain range with the Monte Petrella mountain peak. In Latina is the small village of Sperlonga. It is in the area of this settlement that the caves are located.
You should definitely visit Rieti. In ancient times, Rieti was engaged in the salt trade. This made it possible to be known as a fairly prosperous region. Since the 13th century, Rieti has adorned the Palazzo Communale with a luxurious old facade. In Rieti, you should definitely visit the Duomo of St. Mary (1109) and the Basilica of St. Dominic with its luxurious frescoes. Tourists can visit not only temples, but also cellars. Many believe that there is another city under the city.
Frosinone is also famous for its many ancient sights. In the capital of the province, it is worth taking a walk along Santa Maria Square with a magnificent Cathedral, lined with white marble with statues of Silverio and Ormisdas located at the entrance. The province has a lot of ancient settlements and small villages.
Viterbo is located in the north of Lazio. Historians claim that it is in this area that the whole quarter of San Pellegrino is located. Be sure to visit the Papal Palace, visit the museum with ancient sarcophagi and archaeological finds. In the western part of Viterbo there are many hot springs with SPA centers.
What to see
Everyone who comes to Italy, the first place for excursions chooses the Colosseum, which was built before our era. Then, visit the Pantheon, which is not only admired for its architecture, but also about how the dome was erected in the temple. In the region of Lazio is the cradle of the Catholic faith - the Vatican. Visit the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica Don't forget to visit the Castle of Sant'Angelo, the Capitoline Hill and of course the Baths of Trajan.
Attractions
You can visit an interesting attraction, which is located in the garden of the Vatican - this is the Pinacoteca. In it you can admire very rare frescoes (by Melozzi da Forli), paintings by Raphael, Caravaggio.
The most important symbol of Rome can be considered the Spanish Steps in the Baroque style with 138 steps widening at the bottom. Many tourists dream of sitting down for a few minutes on the stairs. Don't forget to toss a coin into the chic Trevi Fountain.
In the suburbs of Rome there is a whole castle ensemble of 16 fortress cities.

Places to see in ( Rome - Italy ) Stazione Termini
Places to see in ( Rome - Italy ) Stazione Termini
Roma Termini is the main railway station of Rome, Italy. It is named after the district of the same name, which in turn took its name from ancient Baths of Diocletian, which lie across the street from the main entrance.
The station has regular train services to all major Italian cities, as well as daily international services to Munich, Geneva, and Vienna. With 33 platforms and over 150 million passengers each year, Roma Termini is the second largest railway station in Europe after Paris Gare du Nord.
Termini is also the main hub for public transport inside Rome. Two Rome Metro lines (A and B) intersect at Termini metro station, and a major bus station is located at Piazza dei Cinquecento, the square in front of the station. However, the main tram lines of the city cross at Porta Maggiore, some 1,500 metres east of the station.
On 25 February 1863, Pope Pius IX opened the first, temporary Termini Station as the terminus of the Rome–Frascati, Rome–Civitavecchia and Rome-Ceprano lines. The first two lines previously had separate stations elsewhere in the city, and, as the third line was under development, the city chose to build one central station, as opposed to the Paris model of having separate terminus stations for each line or each direction. The dilapidated Villa Montalto-Peretti, erected in the 16th Century by Pope Sixtus V, was chosen as the site for this new station, which was to be called the Stazione Centrale delle Ferrovie Romane (Central Station of Roman Railways).
The current building was designed by the two teams selected through a competition in 1947: Leo Calini and Eugenio Montuori; Massimo Castellazzi, Vasco Fadigati, Achille Pintonello and Annibale Vitellozzi. It was inaugurated in 1950. The building is characterized by the linear lobby hall, a tall space of monumental dimensions. This great hall is fronted by full height glass walls, and is covered with a concrete roof that consists of a flattened and segmented arch, a modernist version of a barrel vault from a Roman bath. The vault is structurally integrated with a cantilevered canopy that extends over the entrance drive. The end result is a gravity-defying modernist structure that also recalls a similar achievement of Roman architecture. The back of the hall leads to a transition space of ticketing functions before reaching the train shed, and is topped by an even longer building block that houses a 10-story hotel, clad with travertine.
Architecturally, the building punctuates the sense of arrival to Rome, and communicates a sense of the Eternal City as both modern and traditional, looking forward to the future as well as remembering its history. Its bold presence in the urban fabric expresses the diversity of the City's history, and speaks of the dramatic new scale of the modern industrial economy of Italy.
( Rome - Italy ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Rome . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Rome - Italy

Florence in December: A Guide Italy in Winter
Winter’s a great time to travel to Florence and other parts of Southern Europe! The weather’s pretty mild, and you’ll save a lot of money on hotels and flights compared to the rest of the year.
For a complete guide to visiting Florence in December and the other winter months, check out:

03:00 The Weather: Florence in December
It rarely snows in Southern Europe, so the cooler temperatures make walking tours of cities like Florence are very enjoyable.
With smaller crowds, you won’t have any problems getting tickets to the famous art galleries and museums.
A drawback to a winter visit to Italy is: some smaller towns won't have much to do. Lucca is lively most of the year, but we found the town pretty much closed up in December.
On the other hand, the medieval hilltop town of San Gimignano had most of its shops and many restaurants still open for visitors.
December is especially beautiful, as Christmas markets open in big cities and small towns.
The biggest market in Florence is outside the Santa Croce Cathedral.
Christmas trees go up in the plazas of Florence, and the streets glow with lights at night.
December is a festive, enjoyable time to visit!
