With one of the lowest population densities in the world, this country is almost completely
engulfed by pristine natural landscapes. It is composed of endless swathes of untouched
spaces, punctuated by the occasional hut or a herd of sheep.
Very few countries in the world have a rich, albeit complicated history like this one. From the
imperialist reign of the fierce Genghis Khan whose kingdom stretched from the edges of Eastern
China to Persia, to the intertwined Communist rule, this paradise on Earth has seen a lot.#traveldestinations2024 #travel2024 #travelguide

Terkhiin Tsagaan lake
Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake is a big fresh water lake in Arkhangai province of Mongolia. One of the favorite attractive places for tourists to visit. If you lucky enough, you can catch burbot, northern pike, yellow perch, lenok trout and hucho taimen (the rarest and distinct species in the area).
HOT SPRING AND HORSES | Tsenkher, Mongolia
Tsenkher Hot Spring is thought to have healing properties because of the minerals in the water. Whether that is true or not, it is definitely a nice place to relax. I'm glad this was the place we got to spend an extra day. A relaxing environment was the perfect break from the long drives in the vans.
We took a little hike around the area and rode horses. Our guide also taught us a Mongolian card game which was really fun.
This is day 9 and 10 on G Adventures Nomadic Mongolia tour.
Much love and happy travels

Walk Baruun Urt, far eastern Mongolian capital of Sukhbaatar. My Canadian adventure
Continuing my travels in the Provinces of Mongolia,I wanted to show small-town life and Baruun Urt is typical of the changes happening in these small capital towns. New hotel or office buildings next to old soviet era buildings, Government employees in suits, and nomadic herders in traditional clothing all converge. #mongolia #mongoliatravel #mongoliatowns #mongoliaadventure #buruunurtmongolia
Yol Valley in the Gobi Mongolia
What is Yolin Am Ice Field or Yol Canyon? People call or spell the site differently, such as Yolyn Am, Yoliin Am, Yol Valley and so on. It is as a gorge in the Gobi.
You probably have seen canyons like this in other parts of the world, However, the unique feature of this canyon is that is ice in the middle of a desert. Even in the summer heat of 45C degrees, the ice remains. Doesn’t that sound intriguing?
The Yoliin am Canyon is one of the most famous canyons in the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan (The Gobi Three Beautiful Mountains) National Park, in Umnugovi Lammergeir Valley. The was designated as a National Park in 1965.
The canyon was formed by years of water erosion and is covered with ice most of the the year. They ice field reaches several meters thick by the end of winter. The ice remains and by September it is still 2-3 kilometers long at an altitude of 2800 meters. In some of the rainy summers small waterfalls flow down the ice. Trying to see the sky from the bottom of the canyon is like looking at a tiny blue line as it narrows. It is eventually just two meters wide in some of the tight sections.
This breathtaking natural semi-arid landscape is home to the Lammergeier. This type of vulture only exists in Central Asia. These scavenging birds soar up to 1500-3000 meters. Their wing span reached 2.5 to 3 meters. This is a perfect place to enjoy a leisurely walk in this scenic valley. From here you will be able to see ibex, mountain sheep and other wild animals. Gobi wild flowers are abundant along with Juniper they cover the hillsides adding to the scenic wonder as well as a wonderful aroma.
Every place in Mongolia has extraordinary folk-tales and stories. The Yoliin Canyon is no execution. The Nomads call the this place, “The Beloved Canyon”. This also has a story. If you would be interested in hearing the locals tell their stories, join us and let them share their beloved folklore with you.
If you are planning to travel to the Gobi Desert, the Yoliin Canyon is a must see place. During your visit here you can hike, ride horses, and enjoy spectacular scenery including the icy waterfall. Don’t forget about the rare and wild animals, including Pikachu (if you know about Anime, you will know who I am talking about). Come to Mongolia and enjoy the Gobi experience with us.

Hot springs in Mongolia
This was a very welcomed treat after 4 days on the road! Tsenkher #HotSprings are located off the beaten track in Central Mongolia. We stayed at a campsite that had outdoor baths looking towards the hills. Needless to say, it was amazing!

Sain Baina Uu, Mongolia!
10 Days. 1 awesome adventure. Wild and untamed. That's Mongolia. One of my roughest road trips ever (probably cos there isn't any road most of the time)! Pardon the shaky camera cos the drive was very bumpy. Long treks through forests, hikes up mountains and an extinct volcano, and climbs into caves. The sights were so worth it. Pee-peed openly in public. Milked a cow and got slapped in the face by its tail. You gotta tug at its udders. What I did probably felt like tickles. Hugged a 2-day-old calf. A Horse-riding was crazy thrilling! Our local guide got thrown off her horse. She landed on her feet with only blisters on her fingers. Mad skills indeed. Met travellers in their 70s, super fit and still kicking ass. How inspiring. Tasted horse milk. So sour. It's like drinking yoghurt. Taught the locals - both kids and adults to draw. Mongolians love to play basketball and volleyball. Didn't get to shower for 2 days. Chanced upon an early Naadam Festival and witnessed the Mongolian traditional wrestling in action, complete with Eagle Dance ritual and throat-singing. I'll be back for a camel pilgrimage through Gobi Desert.
Ulaanbataar, Kharkhorin, Erdene Zhu Monastery, Orkhon Waterfall, Khorgo Volcano, Terkhiin Tsagaan White Lake, Mörön, Khövsgöl Nuur, Bulgan, Naadam at Edernet City, Chinggis Khaan Statue.

'Sain baina uu' means 'Hello' in Mongolian.
This song is dedicated to its capital city, Ulaanbataar.
Khorgo volcano, Mongolia
A short flight over the Khorgo Volcano in Mongolia. We were very lucky to arrive the afternoon after a heavy rain. I flew it the next day and the red streaks were much more subdued.
