WHERE TO STAY IN BUDAPEST: A DISTRICT GUIDE -- True Guide Budapest
The city of Budapest covers more than 500 square kilometers. It is split down the middle by the River Danube, with the residential and hilly Buda on the west side, and the commercial, flat Pest on the east side of it. Budapest has 23 districts (kerület in Hungarian), which are numbered clockwise in widening circles (like Paris' arrondissements). It is easy to find the district from the address of a location, as the two middle digits of the four number zip code indicate it (for example: zip code 1056 means 5th district).
I created this district guide to help you choose where to stay in Budapest depending on the atmosphere and your travel style.
DISTRICT I.: romantic / first time visit
this is the castle district
DISTRICTS II., III., OR XII.: to enjoy greenery and relax
these are all on the hilly Buda side (Rózsadomb, Óbuda, Svábhegy)
DISTRICT V.: the downtown, ideal for business or for families with smaller kids
the city centre (Belváros)
DISTRICT VI.: on a budget and/or to enjoy the culture of the city
this are is called Terézváros
DISTRICT VII.: the Jewish neighborhood but also has great nightlife
this are is called Erzsébetváros
DISTRICTS VIII. AND IX.: cool but perhaps rough neighborhoods
they are called Józsefváros and Ferencváros
DISTRICTS IV. AND X.: they are mainly lower middle class residential and industrial districts
they are called Újpest and Kőbánya
DISTRICTS XI., XIII., AND XIV.: primarily upper middle class residential
district XI. is called Újbuda (on the Buda side), XIII. is Újlipótváros and XIV. is Zugló.
ALL OTHER DISTRICTS (XV., XVI., XVII., XVIII., XIX., XX., XXI., XXII., XXIII.) are further out from the city

I was born and have lived in this beautiful city, Budapest for decades. I am in love with it - and not because I haven’t seen anything else. I am a seasoned traveller and I have also spent many years living abroad. However, my heart (and wife, and jobs and goulash soup and lángos) have pulled me back to my birth town. It is currently the only burial place in South Buda. With its valuable, beautiful crypts and old trees, it has become a protected area today. The cemetery is the resting place of several famous people. The citizens of promontor-Budafok are buried in today's cemetery - after its consecration in April 1804. Its last expansion took place in the 1930s.

Az idén 25 esztendős SPAR Magyarország alapítása óta már több mint egymilliárd eurót fordított beruházásokra a hazai piacon.
XXI. századi funkciókat mutatunk be a vásárlóknak a magyar és a nemzetközi tapasztalatok, tudás ötvözésével ...
Hálózatához jelenleg 345 szupermarket, 32 INTERSPAR és 108 SPAR Partner franchise üzlet tartozik. Az expanzió a jövőben is folytatódik: az új üzletek megnyitása mellett a meglévő áruházak korszerűsítése kiemelt cél a vállalat fejlesztéspolitikájában.
Ebben az évben a SPAR összesen több mint 23 milliárd forintot fordít a kereskedelmi hálózatának modernizálására: a vásárlói igényekhez alkalmazkodva 2016-ban összesen 26 üzlet felújítása valósul meg országszerte.
Ma ott jártunk, ahol a vásárló a Király! Átadták Budapesten a Kerepesi út 73. szám alatti SPAR szupermarket, amely több mint 750 millió forintból újult meg. Ez a környékbeli vásárlók kedvelt üzlete, jelentős vásárlóerő öleli körül, ezért döntöttek úgy, hogy 21. századi megjelenést és magas minőségű kiszolgálást telepítenek az üzletbe. A teljes felújítás során nemcsak a belső teret és a berendezéseket modernizálták, hanem a műszaki berendezéseket is energiatakarékosra cserélték. Az üzlet vezetője Bozsányi Miklós.
A megnyitó ünnepséget Maczelka Márk, a SPAR Magyarország kommunikációs igazgatója vezette. Az eseményen beszédet mondott Heiszler Gabriella a SPAR Magyarország Kft. ügyvezető igazgatója, Tobias Wasmuht, a SPAR International managing directora, Delbó Lajos a SPAR Magyarország Kft. értékesítési vezetője és Burány Sándor Budapest X. kerületi országgyűlési képviselője.
A modernizálás során az 1 760 négyzetméteres üzlet eladótere teljes egészében megújult: a legfrissebb arculat alapján készült el a korábbinál jobb helykihasználású belső tér. A vásárlókat új csemegepult, látványpékség várja az üzletben. A bolt berendezését a SPAR új, nemzetközi szakemberek segítségével kialakított áruházmodellje szerint alakították ki: a bejárat után alacsony bútoros – ezáltal könnyen áttekinthető - pékáru és zöldség-gyümölcs részlegen át juthatnak el a vevők csemegepultig és egyedülálló módon hűtött ital részleget is kialakítottak az eladótérben. Az üzletekben a frissáruk és a népszerű márkatermékek mellett a kiváló minőségű, kedvező árú SPAR sajátmárkás termékek, valamint a helyben sütött pékáruk is kaphatóak. Az egészségtudatos étkezés híveit önkiszolgáló salátabár várja, emellett kibővült az üzlet helyben készült saláta és szendvics kínálata is. A szupermarketben a fejlesztés révén SPAR to Go étterem várja a vendégeket, ahol helyben készített grillételeket, frissensülteket, pizzákat vásárolhatnak. A választék kialakításakor fontos szempont volt, hogy a lehető legmagasabb minőségű alapanyagokból, kiváló ár-érték aránnyal rendelkező termékek szerepeljenek a pultban.
A fő homlokzat teljes felületén függönyfalat alakítottak ki, így nemcsak természetes fény áramlik az üzlethelyiségbe, hanem az utcáról is jól be lehet tekinteni. A fejlesztés során a boltberendezés nagy részét kicserélték. A beruházás során kiemelt figyelmet fordítottak az energiatakarékosságra is. Az eladótérbe LED világítást szereltek be, az új hűtőbútorok ajtókat kaptak és hőszivattyús komfort fűtő- és hűtőrendszert építettek be a szakemberek. A szupermarket területén ezen kívül két üzlethelyiséget is kialakítottak, ahová bérlők költöznek.
