7801 Deboy Avenue, Dundalk, MD 21222 - Virtual Home Tour

Welcome to 7801 Deboy Avenue. This new construction craftsman beach style smart home sits on a private point on Bear Creek with water views from every single oversized window. This brand new home features over 5,400 square feet of living space with 5 bedrooms, 4 full bathroom, and an extremely rare vantage point of 386 ft of waterfront. Enter through the 4 car garage and travel the grand oak staircase or take the private-4-stop elevator to the next 3 levels. The builder was purposeful in his planning for the property as he widened the entire foot print an additional 5 feet to give a true landing to the elevator step out and to make each bedroom that much bigger. The main level's open design includes a massive kitchen with 2 elongated islands, black stainless smart appliances, a full bathroom, a bedroom/office and a stone-smart fireplace. All of the appliances were carefully chosen and positioned for efficiency and convenience including the gas stove top that was imported from Italy. Walk out onto over 1,600 square feet of composite decking overlooking the unobstructed and vast views of Bear Creek. The next level showcases 2 additional bedrooms, a full bath, as well as a magnificent owner's suite. The owners suite has a private walk-out balcony overlooking the water and an exquisite owner's bathroom with a standing glass shower, a jetted soaking tub, and two private vanities. This level also includes an extra large laundry room with smart washer and dryer. Again, you can see water from every single room in this home through the custom oversized windows; even in the laundry room. The peak level features a sprawling 27 by 18ft recreation room. Greet guests at the front door using the smart home technology from several locations throughout the home. If this is not enough, walk out to the private pier to enjoy a weekend on the water complete with 2 boat lifts and a jet ski lift. Other features include a tankless water heater, dual zoned HVAC, three quarter inch oak flooring throughout, a smart gated entry, and custom trim and paint package throughout. Don't miss this rare opportunity to immerse in luxurious and serene water front living.

Thanks for watching, everyone! This mall is what the Burlington Center in NJ should've been, had it not been run into the ground by Moonbeam. White Marsh Mall has been my go-to place of commerce while living in Baltimore County for years, and I absolutely love this place.

Towson, Maryland - Hampton National Historic Site (2019)

Hampton National Historic Site, in the Hampton area north of Towson, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA, preserves a remnant of a vast 18th-century estate, including a Georgian manor house, gardens, grounds, and the original stone slave quarters. The estate was owned by the Ridgely family for seven generations, from 1745 to 1948. The Hampton Mansion was the largest private home in America when it was completed in 1790 and today is considered to be one of the finest examples of Georgian architecture in the U.S. Its furnishings, together with the estate's slave quarters and other preserved structures, provide insight into the life of late 18th-century and early 19th-century landowning aristocracy. In 1948, Hampton was the first site selected as a National Historical Site for its architectural significance by the U.S. National Park Service. The grounds were widely admired in the 19th century for their elaborate parterres or formal gardens, which have been restored to resemble their appearance during the 1820s. Several trees are more than 200 years old. In addition to the mansion and grounds, visitors may tour the overseer's house and slave quarters.

Hampton Historic National Site. in the Hampton area north of Towson, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA, preserves a remnant of a vast 18th-century estate, including a Georgian manor house, gardens, grounds, and the original stone slave quarters. The estate was owned by the Ridgely family for seven generations, from 1745 to 1948. The Hampton Mansion was the largest private home in America when it was completed in 1790 and today is considered to be one of the finest examples of Georgian architecture in the U.S.[2] Its furnishings, together with the estate's slave quarters and other preserved structures, provide insight into the life of late 18th-century and early 19th-century landowning aristocracy. In 1948, Hampton was the first site selected as a National Historical Site for its architectural significance by the U.S. National Park Service.[2][3] The grounds were widely admired in the 19th century for their elaborate parterres or formal gardens, which have been restored to resemble their appearance during the 1820s. Several trees are more than 200 years old.[4] In addition to the mansion and grounds, visitors may tour the overseer's house and slave quarters, one of the few plantations having its original slave quarters surviving to the present day.[2]

The property was originally part of the Northampton land grant given to Col. Henry Darnall (c. 1645–1711), a relative of Lord Baltimore, in 1695.[3] His heirs sold the land on April 2, 1745, to Col. Charles Ridgely (1702–72), a tobacco farmer and trader. The bill of sale records that the property included ... houses, tobacco houses (tobacco barns), stables, gardens, and orchards.[3][5]

Charles Carnan Ridgely, Hampton's second master
By the late 1750s, Hampton extended to more than 10,000 acres (4,000 ha) and included an ironworks.[3] His son, Capt. Charles Ridgely (1733–90), expanded the family business considerably to include gristmills, apple orchards, and stone quarries. During the American Revolutionary War, the ironworks was a significant source of income for the Ridgelys, producing cannons and ammunition for the Continental Army.[6] In 1783, Capt. Ridgely began construction of the main house, Hampton Mansion. He said its concept was inspired by Castle Howard in England, owned by relatives of his mother.[6] When it was completed in 1790, the Hampton Mansion was the largest private home in the United States.[7]

When Capt. Ridgely died that same year, his nephew, Charles Carnan Ridgely (1760–1829), became the second master of Hampton.[6] He had 10,590 feet (3,228 m) of irrigation pipes laid in 1799 from a nearby spring to provide water to the Mansion and the surrounding gardens, which he was extensively developing.[4] Prominent artisans of the time were hired to design geometric formal gardens, which were planted on the Mansion's grounds between 1799 and 1801.[4] An avid horseman, Charles Carnan also began raising Thoroughbred horses at Hampton, where he had a racetrack installed. A 1799 advertisement promoted the stud services of his racehorse, Grey Medley. Another of Ridgely's racehorses, Post Boy, won the Washington City Jockey Club cup.[8]

The Hampton Mansion remained in the Ridgely family until 1948, when John Ridgely Jr. moved to the smaller Farm House on the property and the Mansion was acquired by the Avalon Foundation (now part of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation).[15] The seventh and last generation of Ridgelys to live at the mansion was his son, John Ridgely III (1911–90), who, after marrying Lillian Ketchum (1908–96) in the mid-1930s, continued to reside at the mansion with his wife until they both entered Army service during World War II.[16]

The Hampton Mansion and remaining 43 acres (17 ha) of the Ridgely estate were designated a National Historic Site by the Secretary of the Interior on June 22, 1948—the first site to be so selected on the basis of its historical significance and outstanding merit as an architectural monument.[6][17] Hampton Mansion was opened to the public in May 1949 under the care of Preservation Maryland for the next thirty years (1949–79).[18] Work also began in 1949 to restore four of the site's six 19th-century parterres. On October 15, 1966, Hampton was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.[19] In October 1979, it was acquired by the National Park Service (NPS), which has operated and managed the estate since.[20] The NPS subsequently acquired additional acreage containing original Ridgely structures, bringing the park to its present 62.04 acres (25.11 ha) size.[20] In 1998, the NPS stated its purpose for the historic site:

... to preserve unimpaired the cultural resources of this rare, commercial, industrial, and agricultural estate in the historic Chesapeake region. National events and social change are revealed in the site's resources and the inter-relationships of the family and workers who lived and labored on the estate as it took shape and changed in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Sailing to Baltimore Inner Harbor

July 7-10 from Selby Bay on the South River

Driving Downtown – Baltimore St – Baltimore Maryland

Baltimore is the largest city in the State of Maryland, the largest independent city in the United States, and the 26th-most populous city in the country. It is located in the central area of the state along the tidal portion of the Patapsco River, an arm of the Chesapeake Bay. The independent city is often referred to as Baltimore City to distinguish it from the surrounding Baltimore County. Founded in 1729, Baltimore is the second largest seaport in the Mid-Atlantic United States and is situated closer to Midwestern markets than any other major seaport on the East Coast.[17] Baltimore's Inner Harbor was once the second leading port of entry for immigrants to the United States and a major manufacturing center.[18] After a decline in major manufacturing, industrialization and rail transportation, Baltimore shifted to a service-oriented economy, with the Johns Hopkins Hospital (founded 1889), and Johns Hopkins University (founded 1876), now serving as the city's top two employers.[19]
With a population of 622,104 as of July 1, 2013, Baltimore increased by 762 residents over the previous year, ending over six decades of population loss since its peak in 1950. The Baltimore Metropolitan Areahas grown steadily to approximately 2.7 million residents in 2010; the 20th largest in the country.[20] Baltimore has the second largest population (after Washington, D.C.), and is a principal city in, the greaterBaltimore–Washington metropolitan area with a total of approximately 9.44 million residents (as of 2013 estimates).[21]
With hundreds of identified districts, Baltimore has been dubbed a city of neighborhoods, and has been more recently known as Charm City, to go along with its older moniker of The Monumental City (coined by sixth President John Quincy Adams in 1827), and its more controversial 19th-century sobriquet of Mobtown. The talents of writers Edgar Allan Poe and H.L. Mencken, jazz musician James Eubie Blake and singer Billie Holiday, as well as the city's role in the War of 1812 and Francis Scott Key's writing of The Star-Spangled Banner, which later became the American national anthem, have all contributed to the city's historical importance.[22]
According to the Brookings Institution, almost a quarter of the jobs in the Baltimore region are science, technology, engineering and math positions. The Baltimore area is known for health and science, which is in part attributed to the prestigious Johns Hopkins University, with its extensive undergraduate and graduate schools, the University of Maryland at Baltimore, and other smaller schools such as the University of Baltimore, the suburban University of Maryland-Baltimore County, (in Catonsville), Loyola University, Notre Dame University Maryland, Stevenson University, (formerly Villa Julie College – in suburban Stevenson),Goucher College, (in suburban Towson), and the Maryland Institute College of Art.[22]

Downtown Baltimore is the central business district of Baltimore traditionally bounded by Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to the west, Mt. Royal Avenue to the north, President Street to the east and the Inner Harborarea to the south. It consists of five neighborhoods: Westside, Mount Vernon, City Centre, Inner Harbor, and Camden Yards. It is the focal point of business in the Baltimore metropolitan area with over 100,000 employees.[citation needed] It has also increasingly become a heavily populated neighborhood with over 37,000 residents and new condominiums and apartment homes being built steadily.

Aerial Views Fort Carroll Baltimore Maryland

Fort Carroll is a military garrison built on a small man-made island in the middle of the Patapsco River. It lies in an area known as Soller's Point Flats southeast of the Francis Scott Key Memorial Bridge.

The future commander of the Confederate Army, Robert E. Lee was a brevet colonel in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1848 when he was assigned to supervise the construction. The purpose of the hexagonal fort was to protect the city of Baltimore. The fort was abandoned after the end of World War I and is in extreme disrepair.

In this video the aerial footage is dated November 2014. If you look closely there appears to be some kind of animal moving in the upper window of the lighthouse, perhaps an owl.

The interior photo images are dated March 2002. All material is copyrighted by the original creators as mentioned in the credits....
but I also want to thank Alex Cheek for his help obtaining the the older still photos of the fort's interior.
