Why should I visit Kyiv? We'll show you why, with the best things to do in Kyiv. Kyiv Ukraine is fast becoming a popular travel destination, and is currently really underrated.
Our Ukraine Travel Series started in Kyiv (Київ) the Capital of Ukraine. We had 10 days to see as much of country as we could. We spent the first few days exploring and eating our way around Kyiv, including a haunting but memorable day trip to Chernobyl and the ghost town of Pripyat. You can watch this as a separate video.
Moving on south west of the country we took an overnight train to Ivano-Frankivsk before taking a hire car up into the Carpathian Mountains. Bad weather in the mountains restricted what we could achieve, before driving north to Lviv. Our final day was spend flying back to Kyiv to catch our flight home to the UK.

HOW TO GET FROM BORYSPIL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO KIEV UKRIANE | BY TRANSFER TAXI BUS

How to get to the Kiev airport: bus, taxi or transfer
“Airports are noisy anthills of human destinies” - Elchin Safarli wrote. Your destiny brought you to Ukraine, most likely by plane, so now you need to get to the city.
Boryspil International Airport (KBP) - is the largest airport in Ukraine, and its transport infrastructure developed quite well. Let's take a look at it and answer the question of how to get to the city. This guide is also useful if you continue your journey and need to get to the airport from Kiev.
There are three the most popular ways:
1. Bus
It is regular and very reliable way that connects Kiev with the airport, also called Sky Bus.
You can find a bus near the exit from the airport and buy a ticket directly in the vehicle. In case you are going to the airport you can find the bus station near the south railway station of Kiev.
Buses are comfortable, with a separate compartment for your luggage.
The price is about 4 USD.
Usually, to get to the airport, it takes about:
❏ 40-50 minutes - usual trafic;
❏ 60-80 minutes - rush hour.
2. Taxi
Well, If in case of using Skybus you need to get to the south railway station first, taxi can catch you from anywhere you are in Kiev. It's very convenient - you can get to the airport right from you hotel, or apartments you rent and vise versa, you can get to the place you are staying directly from the airport as well.
It's also more private and comfortable, especially if you choose luxury taxi services, such as:
❏ VIP LimoCar;
❏ Nobil Taxi;
❏ Taxi Service Airport.
Travel time depends on your exit/destination point, but usually its no more that an hour. The price is about 10-15 USD.
How you can see, if you are a group of three, it's more profitable to take a taxi.
3. Transfer
This option is very convenient for large group of tourists that can not be placed into one taxi. For example, the TAXOBUS service, where you have the opportunity to choose a vehicle suitable for your group, as well as selecting additional amenities, such as:
❏ Car brand;
❏ Air conditioner;
❏ Heated seats;
❏ Baby chair;
❏ Environmental friendliness of the car, etc.
The cost of such transfer will depend directly on your requirements, but it definitely must be cheaper than taxi for your divided group.
Choose any way that will be convenient right for you to get to the airport or to get to Kiev and continue the journey destined for you.
P.S .: Do not forget that it is necessary to come to the airport 2 hours before the check-in starts, and for flights to New York - 2 hours 45 minutes before.

🇺🇦 KYIV First Impressions: Ukraine Currency and Public Bus from Boryspil Airport {Kyiv, UKRAINE}
After 24 hours in transit, the transition from Mexico to Ukraine wasn't that difficult. Except for the Ukrainian currency. That's a mouthful to pronounce!
The public bus from Boryspil Airport to the center of Kyiv is convenient and inexpensive. While the early morning arrival made for a quiet arrival in Ukraine's capital, perhaps the tranquility was needed for an easy entrance to a new country.
Dropped off at Pivdennyi Train Station, Kyiv's morning commute became the first impression of Ukraine. Stimulated by coffee and observing old Russian relics of trains, the remaining walk to the hostel was highlighted by a brief stop at the AV Fomin Botanical Gardens in the city center.
Finally, the big question of the day was answered: what is Ukraine's currency and how to say it properly. Well, at least Matt found out what it is. Developing a tongue for Ukrainian is still a work in process.

Tipping
Ukrainians are slowly awakening to the idea of tipping, though it is still not widely expected except in western style hotels and more upmarket restaurants. 10% should suffice.
Money
The currency of Ukraine is the Hryvnia (uah). Most towns and cities now have cash machines which can be used to withdraw money from. Currency exchanges are also common place, where you will need your passport to exchange money. Travellers Cheques are not widely accepted in Ukraine, and can be difficult to exchange.
