Borgarnes is a beautiful town located in the middle of the Western region at the shore of Borgarfjörður in Iceland. It is the largest town in the Borgarbyggð municipality. It is the main junction in Iceland and the gateway to the Snaefellsnes National Park. Driving from Reykjavik city center takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes ( 75 kilometers). The second-largest bridge in Iceland, the Borgarfjarðarbrú, connects traffic to and from Reykjavik.

This is day six of seven of our Icelandic tour of the country with Arctic Adventures. We explore numerous places in a single day. One half of the day was guided and the other half was unguided. We explore the city of Borgarnes.
Borgarnes - Walking in Iceland [4K]
Borgarnes is a town located on a peninsula at the shore of Borgarfjörður in Iceland and is the largest town in the Borgarbyggð municipality with a population of about 3800 residents. It is a main junction in Iceland and the gateway to the Snaefellsnes National Park. Iceland's capital Reykjavik is 69 kilometers from the center of Borgarnes. The second largest bridge in Iceland, the Borgarfjarðarbrú, connects traffic to and from Reykjavik.
