遼金古刹 I 千年遺存 I 中國古代建築的典範 I 華厳寺 I 中國古寺 I 4K
华严寺，位于中国山西大同古城内西南隅，始建于辽重熙七年（公元1038年），依据佛教经典《华严经》而命名。兼具辽国皇室宗庙性质，地位显赫。后毁于战争，金天眷三年（1140年）重建。华严寺坐西向东，山门、普光明殿、大雄宝殿、薄伽教藏殿、华严宝塔等30余座单体建筑分别排列在南北两条主轴线上，布局严谨。
华严寺最引人瞩目的大雄宝殿和华严塔，大雄宝殿为木结构建筑，是中国建筑史的代表；华严宝塔是继应县木塔之后全国第二大纯木榫卯结构的方形木塔，地下的金宫由100吨黄铜打造而成，千佛地宫四壁上供奉着四尊主佛和448尊小供养佛，加上墙壁和塔柱上的浮雕佛像共有1000余尊。在地宫中央的水晶舍利宝塔里迎供着佛界高僧舍利。浮雕上用图案记录了释迦牟尼一生的经历，如“树下诞生”“天人献衣”“得遇沙门”“妙转法轮”等。

Roosters waking up the Addis morning Ethiopia
I shot this clip from the deck off the bedroom. You see one neighbor setting off for the day with her sun umbrella, and it's still early enough to see some dew in the air and hear the late arriving roosters do their thing. The hill off in the background is actually quite a ways away, but close enough to see people walking on it. Many coniferous trees in the area too; pine and perhaps spruce.
