Top 10 things to see on Cebu, Philippines this year
Cebu is located to the east of Negros, to the west of Leyte and Bohol islands. The province consists of Cebu Island, as well as 167 smaller islands, which include Mactan, Bantayan, Malapascua, Olango and the Camotes Islands. But the highly urbanized cities of Cebu, Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue are independent cities.
Cebu Island itself is long and narrow, stretching 196 kilometres (122 mi) from north to south and 32 kilometres (20 mi) across at its widest point. It has narrow coastlines, limestone plateaus and coastal plains. It also has rolling hills and rugged mountain ranges traversing the northern and southern lengths of the island.
Cebu's highest mountains are over 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) high. Flat tracts of land can be found in the city of Bogo and in the towns of San Remigio, Medellin and Daanbantayan at the northern region of the province.
Cebu City, officially the City of Cebu (Cebuano: Dakbayan sa Sugbo; Filipino: Lungsod ng Cebu), is the capital city of the province of Cebu and is the second city of the Philippines being the center of Metro Cebu, the second most populous metropolitan area in the Philippines after Metro Manila. Cebu is a 1st city income class highly urbanized city where political governance is independent and separate from the province of Cebu, and according to the 2015 census, it has a population of 922,611, making it the fifth most populated city in the country. Cebu City is a significant center of commerce, trade and education in the Visayas region.
The city is located on the mid-eastern side of Cebu island. It is the first Spanish settlement, the country's oldest city, and the first capital of the Philippines. It is considered as the Fount of Christianity in the Far East.
Cebu is the Philippines' main domestic shipping port and is home to about 80% of the country's domestic shipping companies. Cebu City is bordered to the northeast by Mandaue and the town of Consolacion, to the west are Toledo City, and the towns of Balamban and Asturias, to the south are Talisay City and the town of Minglanilla. Across Mactan Strait to the east is Mactan Island.
It is the center of a metropolitan area called Metro Cebu, which includes the cities of Carcar, Danao, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, Naga and Talisay; and the municipalities (towns) of Compostela, Consolacion, Cordova, Liloan, Minglanilla and San Fernando. Metro Cebu has a total population of 2,849,213.

Taking another ferry from Santander, we then arrived in Negros Oriental to meet up with friends Inez and John Rey at Kookoo's Nest in Zamboanguita, one of our favorite freediving destinations.

WELCOME TO CITY OF BOGO
Home of PINTOS FESTIVAL!
Located in the northern province of Cebu.
Country : Philippines
Region : Central Visayas (Region VII)
Province : Cebu
District : 4th District of Cebu
Cityhood: 2007 June 16
Established : 1985
Barangay : 29 Barangays
Government Type : Sangguniang Panlungod
Area total : 103.52 km2 (39.97 sq mi)
Population : 88,867 people (2020 census)
Demonym(s) : Bogohanons
Brief History of Cityhood
During the 13th Congress (2004–2007), the House of Representatives re-adopted former Joint Resolution No. 29 as Joint Resolution No. 1 and forwarded it to the Senate for approval. However, the Senate again failed to approve the Joint Resolution. Following the suggestion of Senator Aquilino Pimentel (Senate President), 16 municipalities filed, through their respective sponsors, individual cityhood bills. The 16 cityhood bills each contained a common provision exempting it from the ₱100 million income requirement of RA 9009 –
“Exemption from Republic Act No. 9009. — The City of x x x shall be exempted from the income requirement prescribed under Republic Act No. 9009.”
On 22 December 2006, the House of Representatives approved the cityhood bills. The Senate also approved the cityhood bills in February 2007, except that of Naga, Cebu which was passed on 7 June 2007. These cityhood bills lapsed into law on various dates from March to July 2007 after President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo failed to sign them.
The plebiscite for the cityhood of Bogo was held on 16 June 2007 in which 97.82% of voters of Bogo voted for cityhood. Former representative Clavel Asas-Martinez announced that the cityhood of Bogo has been ratified. It became the third component city of Cebu province.
Although there had been multiple times the City lost its status due to court misunderstandings and revisions, on June 28, 2011 the Supreme Court directed the Clerk of Court to issue the entry of judgment on the cityhood case of 16 municipalities. This entry of judgment ended the cityhood battle of the 16 cities. Thus making it finally official from “Municipality of Bogo” to now “City of Bogo”.
Today the City of Bogo stoods as a fast growing City in the north of Cebu. Although known for its sugarcane production and fishery, the City has been open to commercial establishments catering the needs and wants of the locals and visitors. The progressing City continues to excel, continuously developing business infrastructures for livelihood and liesure sites for tourism. As a lumad na Bogohanon would say, “Padayon Bogo!”

Operation Hours: Monday-Saturday 8am to 5pm
The organization has been operating since 2007 and has been supplying organically raised pork, dressed chicken and quality dairy products.
Our efforts to teach people livelihood in the poor community, is genuine care with concern.
Arapal Camp Bogo Cebu is not someone's typical camping site where one just enjoys the bonfire burning in the evening, stargazing at night, staying overnight, and lingers with nature the next day. No, it isn't just like that. Arapal Camp offers more than that!
Arapal Camp is an organic farm of livestock housing, different vegetables, a dragon fruit plantation, and a processing facility for goat milking. Yes, they offer hiking, caving, and other outdoor activities but on top of that, they also offer retreats, seminars, and even weddings, in which guests can take and eat all-organic food grown on the farm.
Of all these activities and services, the farm is best known for its goat milking production and the seminars and training it brought to the locals and the farmers.
When the owner of Arapal Farm first saw the land, there were no other edible plants except the Arapal plants. No vegetable plants would survive in the area because it is directly exposed to the sun as it is situated on top of a hill, no water supply, and the land is rocky, in short, the land is barren. Only the Arapal plants and heat-resistant trees survive on the land. Thus the name Arapal is adapted. Arapal Camp
