In today’s video I’m taking a look at the most beautiful towns in Colorado and the prettiest places to visit. The vast Rocky Mountains draw in visitors looking for a laidback vacation with amazing culture and attractions.
Enjoy a jam-packed day in one of the national parks or ski at one of the largest resorts in the country. Whatever you choose you won’t be disappointed as each of these towns offers stunning views and one-of-a-kind scenery.
Some of the towns on this list are lesser known and include some hidden gems. As a local, I go off the tourist path to find some unique and scenic towns to visit and with little tourist crowds.
From skiing and snowboarding in the winter to hiking, and camping in the summer, outdoor activities are a way of life in Colorado. The Centennial State is an ideal travel destination and one of the best places to visit for outdoor pursuits in every season.

We had a lot of fun. We are worried we won't get to travel anytime in the near future. We're keeping our hopes up and staying positive.

IN this episode of the the Well Xplored Travel Journal Dawn visits Beaver Creek ski resort in Colorado. Spring skiing in the Vail valley is perfect. Dawn skis into the Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch where she gives a brief tour of the hotel and has a fire side chat with friends for apres-ski. She also visits the Park Hyatt, Beaver Creek at the base of the Beaver Creek mountain. The ski school for kids is directly in front of the Park Hyatt where Dawn put her son in ski school for the week. After dropping Robbie off at ski school Dawn gives us a look inside a 3 bedroom penthouse that is for sale and rent in the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek. We also get a look inside the private Beaver Creek Club. Finally we see the perfect wedding chapel along side the
actual Beaver Creek. Beaver Creek is the perfect destination wedding location and a fun place to visit with family and friends for winter skiing or a summertime get-a-way.
Beaver Creek State Natural Area
For paddlers, birders and nature walkers, Beaver Creek is something close to paradise. You can launch your own kayak from Ona Beach or take a summer guided kayak tour. Paddlers enter a park rich in bird life—bald eagles, flycatchers, osprey—and other wildlife such as beaver and river otter. You also have a chance to see salmon and steelhead, and lush wetland plant communities.
After navigating two miles upstream, paddlers can turn into hikers. A trail leads from a landing to a seven-mile network of upland trails. A hilltop viewpoint offers views of the coast range and the ocean.

Vail's ski resort is the one of the largest and most beautiful resorts in the world. There are over 190 runs in total, and in 2 days we were able to explore 20-30 of them. We could have stayed for a month and not gone down every run! There is an awesome mix of easy runs for beginners and challenging runs for you experts out there. The entire front side of the mountain is incredible, there are 2 huge gondolas that take you halfway up, and chairlifts that take you every which way to any part of the mountain you want to go to. From the peaks, you can hit Vail's legendary back bowls on the backside of the mountain. These are more challenging than the front side, but are SO SO fun and offer stunning views. The BEST place in Vail, however, is Blue Sky Basin, which is set back from the back bowls. At Blue Sky Basin the runs are wide open and give you room to roam your way down the slopes. Skiing Vail was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!
► Exploring Vail Village
Vail Village is the awesome town located at the base of the mountain. The village is a long stretch of quaint coffee shops, awesome restaurants, beautiful resorts, and great shops! If you want to go shopping for an awesome new set of winter gear, a gift for family or friends, or really anything else, Vail Village is a perfect place to be. And it is SO cute! We could have walked around this town for days and not grown tired of it, especially when the holiday decorations are up. The lights are all brightly lit, there is a layer of white snow on the trees, and everyone has a smile on their face.
► Skiing & Snowboarding
Beaver Creek's ski area is smaller than Vail's, but it is every bit as wonderful. The view on a clear day from the top of Beaver Creek is jaw-dropping, and the runs are every bit as fun as any we've ever done! And on top of that, there is an awesome little terrain park. We are by no means experts, and found the smaller jumps to be just our size. We were left in awe at the awesome ski runs and all the fun we had skiing Beaver Creek.
► Beaver Creek New Years Eve
On New Years Eve there is an awesome light show in Beaver Creek where anyone can ski down with glow sticks tied to their bodies or their helmets, putting on an awesome show for everyone at the base of the mountain! On top of that, the ski instructors ski down with lit torches in a choreographed row of fire! The night finishes up with an incredible fireworks display from the ice rink at the center of the village, this is an absolutely perfect way to ring in a new year!

When we started, we were SO SO SO SO bad at it, and to be honest we still kinda suck, but we want to get better!
We believe that travel is truly a life-changing experience, it certainly changed ours! When you get out of your everyday world and experience new cultures, foods, places, people, sights, sounds, and take an adventure, you grow as a person and you become a better version of yourself! Day Trip to Cleveland | Camping Beaver Creek State Park
We left VA on Friday of Memorial Day Weekend and headed to Beaver Creek State Park campground in Ohio. We had no idea what was there, but it was the only place we could find a campsite within a 6 hour drive of DC. Turns out, it was a pretty cool place to stay. The campground was fairly small and we only had electric, but the river (or creek) was really nice. There was also an old Pioneer Village to explore as well.
We also went to Cleveland one day to meet up with one of Brittany's friends she hadn't seen in years. We got a great tour of the city, checking out the breweries and the West Side Market. We also had some of the best food at the Greenhouse Tavern.
Beaver Creek turned out to be a pretty great place to stay for the weekend!
