During the winter months, one of the best things to do in Banff is go skiing. Banff National Park’s preeminent ski resort is Sunshine Village, which is located within the surrounding area of Sunshine Meadows. This area becomes just as popular with tourists during the spring and summer months when Sunshine Meadows lights up with color.

Besides skiing, another thing that’s popular to do during the winter in Banff National Park is to go ice skating. There are numerous expansive lakes to ice skate on around the area of Banff, with one of the most popular ice-skating lakes being Lake Louise. Like Sunshine Meadows, Lake Louise is also a popular location to hike around once the weather warms up.
