Bangkok is a juggernaut that is as beautiful as it is huge. Thailand's capital is not only much larger than the Maldives, Liechtenstein, Andorra - even Los Angeles, Madrid, Rome, Vienna, Berlin, Kiev, Delhi and Mexico City cannot compete with the City of Angeles.
Most tourists are completely unaware of this fact. They have seen the fantastic sights in films, advertisements and social media and are then surprised that Bangkok does not have a beach. and how long it takes to check into the supposedly centrally located city hotel.
And travelers who are thinking about Bangkok in advance of their trip are quickly faced with these three big puzzles: In which area should I look for accommodation? Are three days perhaps not enough to see everything? And how do I get from A to B?
These questions are answered once and for all in this video. First we dive into how to get from the airport to the city and how best to get around. Then we show where the most important sightseeing spots are, where Bangkok is the most beautiful, where the best food spots are and where the nightlife is the most fun. There are also hotel tips to be close to the action. And at the end we give you the best travel plan for a few days in Bangkok.

Wat Saman Rattanaram on the Bang pakong river, Chachoengsao Thailand. ( 10 )
Chachoengsao, Paet Rio, has an old history dating back to the reign of King Borommatrailokkanat in the Ayutthaya period. Most of the people have settled near the Bang Pakong River and along canals. Luangpho Phuttha Sothon and is a centre of faith of the people of Paet Rio. In the past, Chachoengsao was a fourth class city under the Ministry of Defence. During the reign of King Rama I, it was attached to the Ministry of Interior.
Until the reign of King Rama V who changed the administration system, Chachoengsao became a city in the Prachin Buri Circle. In 1916, its status was changed from a city to a province. Chacheongsao is a Khmer word which means a deep canal. The name Paet Rio comes from the story that the city once teemed with giant snake head fish; up to 8 cuts were required on the sides in the making of sun dried fish.
Bang Pakong River originates from the Korat plateau, passes Prachin Buri, Amphoe Bang Nam Priao and Bang Khla of Chachoengsao, and flows out into the Thai Bay at Amphoe Bang Pakong covering a distance of 230 kilometres on it’s journey. The route of the river passes many interesting places such as Khrommakhun Maruphong Siriwats Residence, ancient fortress and a previous City Hall, old rafts and many Wats, and arrives at Wat Pho Bang Khla to the spectacular sights of the local bat community nesting here. Tourists can hire boats at the pier of Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan or in the town. The long tailed boat can accommodate 8 to 10 people and 40 people on the larger boats.
Wat Saman Rattanaram where you can see a giant Reclining Ganesha. This temple is situated on the bank of Bang Pakong river. There are two Ganesha Temples. This one with the pink Ganesha, is some distance north of the city. Wat Saman Rattanaram is located in Bang Kaeo, a sub district of Chachoengsao. The temple is situated near the Bang Pakong Dam, north of Chachoengsao. The temple features a giant reclining image of Ganesha, the Elephant God, said to be the largest of Thailand. The statue of the Hindu deity measures 16 metres high and 22 metres long and made from pink stucco texture in 2009, it took four months to build this.
There is a museum containing sacred objects in the basement of the statue. Around the base are 32 different postures of Ganesh statues enshrined with 5 servants rats in front. Only in Thailand would you find a religious site which combines shrines to Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism all on display in one temple. Near the premises is a market selling a variety of food and products. I have to say it was one of the best and most interesting markets I had visited. The temple was packed with visitors the day I was there due to it being a Sunday and many Thai people had a day off wor
My experience at the Wat Bang Thong Temple. (South Thailand)
Welcome back to another video. In 2019 before the Pandemic begann I was travelling in Thailand. As I arrived at the south side of the country, I heard about the Wat Bang Thong Temple near the island Phuket. I thought it is a good idea to go to the temple and visit the big area. It was a little bit difficult to come inside. But as I saw the many monuments, the large side of the Buddha-Figures or the monk in XXL format behind the temple which is one the most famous monks in the country as well, it was clear for me: The majority of the people knows Thailand only for the food and the sex tourism, but that`s wrong. The country gives you a big selection of temples, culture and exotic forests as well and it is a trip for everybody to come and make their own opinion about the asian culture.

Wat Hong Thong Temple, Song Khlong, Bang Pakong, Chachoengsao,Thailand. ( 10 )
Wat Hong Thong Temple, Song Khlong, Bang Pakong, Chachoengsao.
It is called Wat Hong Thong which means the Golden Swan in Thai. I found this Temple somewhat amusing at first because at first sight it resembled a pier theatre, I expected someone playing the organ while rising from out of the floor. But when there, I found it an unusually serene Temple, with the structure being built over water. At the far end there is also a memorial for Prince Chumphon who is considered a patron saint for fishermen. Not many Temples in Thailand are built this way and it was strange to see but a marvellous concept and well worth a visit to this Temple. If you wish to travel by car, you need to drive down Highway 3 from Paknam or Samut Prakan. You need to go past Bang Pu Seaside Resort and also the fishing town of Klong Dan. A short while after the town, just after you cross the border into Chachoengsao, you will see a sign for a road on the right that leads to Wat Hong Thong.
Having visited this Wat some 6 years ago in 2009, I decided to see how things had changed. Some boardwalks had been added to make walking round safer and better. But the main work going on was the huge building to the right of the old temple structures.
This new addition is very large and must be costing a huge amount of money. The site was still under construction and therefore many cement trucks builders material were being delivered the day I went there. However you can see from the photos its a structure that will greatly add to the attraction for visiting this beautiful and unusual temple set in the lovely province of Chachoengsao.
The day I revisted was 15th March 2015 the same day I visited Wat Saman Rattanaram on the Bang pakong river and Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan temple. It was a busy day trying to get round all the attractions.
However I went by my friends taxi so he did the driving and knew ( this time ) where all the places were. This time I went inside many of the temples buildings I did not see last visit. The Chinese section of this temple was big and attractive, and went up three floors. So a good viewing point was to be had at the top floor.

The Bang PaKong river is at the east of Thailand. The watershed of the river is about 17,000 km². Many tourist visits to watch dophins in the seas of Bang Pakong River.

Wat Thong Hong Temple on the Water Bangkok
Wat Hong Thong Themple - one of the most beautiful and unique temples in Bangkok. Wat Hong Thong means Golden Swan. It is within about one and a half hours driving from Bangkok city center with a moderate traffic.

Central Thailand: Samut Sakhon
#Thailand #Bangkok #travel
Located roughly 50km SW of central Bangkok, Samut Sakhon was formerly called Tha Chin (Chinese Pier) probably because, in the old days, it had been a trading port for a vast number of Chinese junks. In 1548, a city named Sakhon Buri was established at the mouth of the Tha Chin River. It was a center for recruiting troops from various seaside towns. The name of the city was changed to Mahachai when Klong (canal) Mahachai was dug in 1704 to connect the Tha Chin River to the city. Later, the city was renamed Samut Sakhon by King Rama IV but it is still popularly called Mahachai by its residents.
In this video I explore the main towns market, railway station and shrine before taking a ferry across the Tha Chin River in order to visit another railway station and some temples, one of which dates back to the Ayutthaya period.

The Chinese section of this temple was big and attractive, and went up three floors. So a good viewing point was to be had at the top floor.
Khlong Suan Market, or 100 year old market, Chachoengsao Province, Thailand. ( 11 )
We set off to this market on a day that was raining so hard I wondered whether it was worth going. But having arrived here, the rain stopped and the sun came out. What it had done though was keep all the people away so it was much easier to get round the market, as very few people had come that day.
I would not really call this a floating market but more a market situated on a canal, but the setting made for a great day out, and the market was first class.
Situated on the banks of Prawet burirom Canal, Khlong Suan Market lies in two provinces: Tambon Thepparat, Amphoe Ban Pho, Chachoengsao Province and Tambon Khlong Suan, Amphoe Bang Bo, Samut Prakan Province.
This traditional market dates back to the reign of King Rama V. The market contains many different shops, which are getting rare these days, since they are increasingly being replaced by modern convenience stores and shopping malls.
After more than 100 years old, it still retains the quaint charm of the old days. Visitors will be pleased with the traditional market atmosphere while enjoying a great variety of tasty food.
Klong Suan will dazzle you with its old shop houses and stalls selling a variety of tasty traditional foods like tom yam noodles, sweet Thai sausage and pot-stewed duck to desserts made from coconut, quaint old utensils and ancient tin toys.
A symbol fitting of the market is a 71 year old coffee shop, Pae Lee, laid out with a few single round tables and stools. The shop takes its name from its owner, a genial elderly person with a ready smile for his patrons.
The most touching aspect of this community, is not the ambience nor the well-maintained buildings or their architecture, but it is the residents' traditional way of life that remains largely untouched by the tides of time.
Khlong Prawet Burirom ( Khlong Phra Khanong ) was one of the great arterial waterways of the pre-automobile era in Thailand. It runs from The Chao Phraya River at Khlong Toei near Bangkok's Port, Eastwards to the Bang Pakong River near Chachoengsao, a distance of some 55 km. It is still used by boat services, but only from Phra Khanong Bridge on the Sukhumvit Road to Srinakharin rd. Passage further east is blocked by the water gates near Prawet
