প্রাচীনকালে এ অঞ্চলের নাম ছিল ইদিলপুর যা কোটালিপাড়া অথবা চন্দ্রদ্বীপ রাজ্যের অন্তর্ভুক্ত ছিল। শরীয়তপুর জেলা পূর্বে বৃহত্তর বিক্রমপুর এর অংশ ছিল। ১৮৬৯ সালে প্রশাসনের সুবিধার্থে ইহাকে বাকেরগঞ্জ জেলার অংশ করা হয়। কিন্তু এ অঞ্চলের জনগণের আন্দোলনের মুখে ১৮৭৩ সালেই এ অঞ্চলকে মাদারীপুর মহকুমার অন্তর্গত করে ফরিদপুর জেলার অংশ হিসেবে গ্রহণ করা হয়। ১৯৭৬ সালে বিশিষ্ট সমাজ সংস্কারক, ব্রিটিশ বিরোধী তথা ফরায়েজী আন্দোলনের নেতা হাজী শরীয়ত উল্লাহর নামানুসারে এর নাম করণ হয় শরীয়তপুর। ১ জানুয়ারি, ১৯৮৪ সালে গঠিত হয় শরীয়তপুর জেলা। এই জেলার দর্শনীয় স্থান, নানা প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিক স্থাপনা ও প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্য দেখতে @MyTourBD ভিডিওটি সম্পূর্ণ দেখুন।

Rangpur is a district under Rangpur Division in Northern Bangladesh. The division has 8 Districts. They are Rangpur, Dinajpur, Kurigram, Gaibandha, Nilphamari, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Lalmonirhat. This division became Bangladesh’s seventh division on January 25, 2010.Commander Raja Man Singh conquered this area in 1575 until 1686, nd it was fully integrated into the Mughal Empire. We have done this by providing and demonstrating this in low-income and healthy targeted communities. We support Rangpur Municipal Corporation to keep health facilities safe.Rangpur is) one of the largest cities in Bangistan and Rangpur. Proclaiming the seat of Ranpur Province on December 1, 1669, the Municipal Council was established in 18699 and became the oldest municipal council in Bangladesh.The City Council Administration Building was built in 1892 under the leadership of Raja Janaki and Alaba Cena. The Shamsundari pit was harvested in 1890 to improve the city. Municipal Council is located in the northwest of Bangladesh. Begum-Rocky University is located just south of the city. Rampur was the chairman of the Greater Ranpur District. Later the lands of Maha Rampur were divided into Rangpur, Korigram, Nilvamari, Lalmonirat and Gawbandha provinces. Economic growth in the greater Rangpur region was relatively slow until the 1990s. There was coal near the place. বদরগঞ্জের মেলা, ১৪২৯ | Bodorgonj Mela 2023 , Rangpur | Rural Festival of Bodorgonj , Rangpur
রংপুর শহর থেকে ২৫ কিলোমিটার পশ্চিমে বদরগঞ্জ পৌর এলাকায় বহু বছর ধরে এই মেলা আয়োজন করা হয়।
মুলত গরু কেনাবেচাকে কেন্দ্র করে এই এই মেলার যাত্রা শুরু হলেও ইদানিংকালে রংপুর বদরগঞ্জের এই মেলা আনন্দ বিনোদনের পশরা নিয়ে বসে। আগে যাত্রাপালার প্রচলন থাকলেও এখন এসব আর আর খুজে পাওয়া যায় না।তবুও গ্রামীন পরিবেশের পশরা যেন এই বদরগঞ্জের মেলা।
করোনাকালীন সময় মেলা না হলেও এই বছর বেশ জাকজমকের সাথেই মেলা আয়োজন হচ্ছে, চলবে পুরো জানুয়ারি মাস জুড়ে।
