In this video, we are going for a walk to one of the main places where thousands of pilgrims tend to bow and pray to the relics of Padre Pio. A beautiful Italian village San Giovanni Rotondo hidden high among the mountains of Gargano in Puglia. San Giovanni Rotondo was the home of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina from 28 July 1916 until his death on 23 September 1968. The Padre Pio Pilgrimage Church was built in devotion to the saint and dedicated on 1 July 2004. The town is renowned for its hospital and medical-research centre Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza (Home for the Relief of the Suffering) founded by Saint Pio of Pietrelcina.

This video shows us making our way through the beautiful autumn colors of the Gargano National Park of Puglia via San Giovanni Rotondo to Ostuni just before Christmas 2022. (It precedes the video we release earlier about Christmas in Ostuni).
There is a LOT to like about Monopoli. With its small fishing marina, castle and gorgeous old city it has offers a perfect blend of old and new. Off season it was a bit tricky to find appropriate parking near the center as we've seen reports of motorhomes being fined if any part of the vehicle overhangs sidewalks or protrude into roads.
