Anse La Ray fish Fry
Every Friday night they have a fish fry in Anse La Ray. This is the poorest village on the St Lucia Island. It's a fishermans village. The houses are EXTREEMLY small. They close down one of the streets, the locals set up kiosk and they sell their food to earn money. It was a very unique experience and I am very happy I got to do this.

There are lots of things to do in St. Lucia and this video shares some of them with you. We spent the entire day out with Kelly & Nicole and the pictures and video we captured made the whole day worth our while.
When it comes to St. Lucia tours there's quite a bit to choose from. However with COVID still running rampant in some communities safety is of paramount importance. Kelly & Nicole got to enjoy a very personalized version of my Private St. Lucia Experiences, from fresh coconut water to a private lunch at AU Poye Park which just might be the one of the coolest outdoor spots on island. The park is nestled at the base of Gros Piton which is one of the twin pitons of St. Lucia, with Petit Piton being the other one.
St Lucia videos offer a great way of discovering the best of the island as in a heartbeat they provide a great sense of things to see and do over here.
~ This video starts off with Kelly and Nicole at their resort, then from there we made our way across the entire island.
First stop outside Castries is at Anse La Raye - a sleepy little fishing village with lots of charm and character. The village mostly comes alive when cruise ships are in port. In Anse La Raye you can expect to see fishermen mending their nets, children frolicking in the ocean when school is out, street vendors selling souvenir items and a myriad of that spells easy going island life.
From Anse La Raye its off to Soufriere, home of St. Lucia's iconic twin peaks - The Pitons. The views and vistas are spectacular and we have the footage to prove it. From the beach with one of the Pitons in the background, to the newly refurbished town square there a lot to see and soak in down in Soufriere.
Then it was off to lunch at Au Poye Park at Fond Gens Libre. Fond Gens Libre is at the base of the Gros Piton and many of the residents serve as hiking guides for the Gros Piton Hike. Fond Gens Libre is a truly special part of Saint Lucia - a place when time seems to stand still and where you feel like you are not even in St. Lucia.
Residents of the community are reputed to be the descendants of the Freedom Fighters who rejected slavery hundreds of years ago, escaping into the woods and making Fond Gens Libre their stronghold. The name translates to Valley of the FREE People in English as these brave souls referred to themselves as free from inception.
Lunch at Fond Gens Libre was the highlight of the day, with Charmaine, the proprietress putting on quite a spread for us.
Next we are off to a beautiful strip of beach at the south eastern end of Gros Piton where we chilled out and watched the sun set. We then made our way back to Castries, the city via the east coast of St Lucia and got back to the resort around 8:00 PM!
And though it was a long and full day - what a great day it was!

One day St Lucia itinerary 🇱🇨
Hear me out…I do not think that 1 day in Saint Lucia is enough to fully experience this beautiful island, however I know many come on the cruise ship 🚢 and one day is all you get.
When time is limited, planning in advance and preparing the itinerary can save you plenty of time and nerves. So this itinerary is exactly for my cruise ship crowds.
You can book a group tour or you can rent a car, which is something I would definitely recommend. Pick up your rental car from the Castries airport located just by the cruise port or directly from the cruise port.
Find below two one-day in Saint Lucia itineraries.
🗺️ Itinerary no.1 - North of the island:
Slower pace, plenty of time to chill on the beach
🍍Castries Market - opens from 7:30am you can get your daily dose of fruits and also souvenirs
🏝️ Pigeon Island - former military base turned to national park with amazing views, entrance fee $10
🦐 Duke’s Place - the freshest & the most authentic seafood we had on the island
⛱️ Reduit Beach - lively narrow beach with water park
⛵ Rodney Bay Marina - perfect place for afternoon stroll
🗺️ Itinerary no.2 - Must visits of the Island:
🌋 Sulphur Springs & Drive-in volcano - volcanic mud baths and one of a kind drive-in volcano $15
💦 Piton Falls - Geothermal waterfall with man-made pools is the perfect stop on the way to the most stunning beach of the island
⛱️ Sugar Beach - must visit most beautiful beach of Saint Lucia located in the Viceroy Resort between world famoys Pitons, insider tip:have lunch in Sugar Beach Viceroy restaurant to get parking within the hotel and shuttle to the beach, otherwise prepare yourself for 20 minutes hike there and 20 minute hike back (2 drinks and pizza under $30)

The island's capital, Castries, is a town of charming, pastel-colored colonial buildings, home to some 60,000. Yet despite its peaceful setting, St. Lucia has a turbulent and colorful history. Fierce Carib warriors overran the peaceful Arawaks in the 9th century. The first European settler, Francois Le Clerc, was a French buccaneer. Le Clerc's countrymen followed in his wake, establishing the town of Soufriere in 1746. Sugar was the lure, sugar was king. Within four decades some 50 plantations flourished on the island. Thus St. Lucia became part of the Caribbean's 18th-century trade triangle of sugar, slavery, and rum. Today this beautiful island welcomes visitors drawn to its exotic tropical landscape, superb beaches, crystalline waters, and colorful marine life.
