Places to see in ( Cannock - UK )
Cannock is the most populous of the three towns in the district of Cannock Chase in the central southern part of the county of Staffordshire in the West Midlands region of England. Cannock lies to the north of the West Midlands conurbation on the M6, A34 and A5 roads, and to the south of Cannock Chase, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Cannock is served by a railway station on the Chase Line. The town comprises four district council electoral wards and the Cannock South ward includes the civil parish of Bridgtown, but the rest of Cannock is unparished. Cannock forms part of the Cannock Built-up Area which also includes Cheslyn Hay, Great Wyrley, Hednesford, Huntington, Heath Hayes and Wimblebury.
Cannock is on a south-west facing slope, falling from the highest point on Cannock Chase (244 m) at Castle Ring, to about 148 m in the town centre and 111 m near Wedges Mills. The soil is light with a gravel and clay subsoil, and there are extensive coal measures. Cannock Chase German war cemetery is located nearby containing 4,885 German military dead from the First and Second World Wars. It is managed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
Cannock is about 20 miles (30 km) by road north-north-west of Birmingham, 80 miles (130 km) south-south-east of Manchester and 130 miles (210 km) north-west of London. Cannock is 9 to 10 miles (14 to 16 km) by road from many of the nearest towns and cities (Aldridge, Lichfield, Stafford, Walsall, Willenhall and Wolverhampton), but Hednesford (2 miles (3 km)), Burntwood and Penkridge (5 miles (8 km)), Bloxwich and Brownhills (6 miles (10 km)) and Rugeley (7 miles (11 km)) are nearer.
Cannock is located close to the M6, M6 toll and M54 motorways. There is an extensive network of local buses radiating out from Cannock town centre. The town's main bus operator is Arriva Midlands, who operate the majority of services to and from Cannock bus station. Cannock railway station closed in 1965 as part of the Beeching Axe. It reopened in 1989 under British Rail and is part of the Rugeley - Cannock - Walsall - Birmingham line operated by London Midland. There are two trains per hour from the station to Rugeley, Walsall, and Birmingham. The journey time to Birmingham is around 45 minutes.

Aldridge West Midlands | 4K | Walkabout | Drone Footage
#aldridge #westmidlands #charityshop
I took a stroll around Aldridge, West Midlands, a very small town, some say it is a village, but anyway, I found 6 charity shops. In Birmingham I could only find 3. So if you are into your charity shops, why not pay Aldridge a visit. The town is well served by public transport and easily accessible from anywhere in the West Midlands

A WALK THROUGH TIME: Aldridge's Streets That Haven't Changed in Decades!
#aldridge #birmingham #westmidlands
Hello, again viewers. Aldridge, West Midlands is a small town (Some say it is a village) approx 3 miles NE of Walsall and 8 miles north of Birmingham.
I have been coming here for 10 years and nothing has changed, however, I would like to argue that in my opinion, it is a town, how many villages do you know that have numerous shops including nail salons, hairdressers, cafes and supermarkets. Also, many buses run frequent services to Birmingham, Brownhills, Sutton Coldfield, and Walsall. Please leave a comment if you know any different, it would be good to hear from a resident also...Thank you again for watching

#Motorhome #Vanlife #Castles #Heritage #Coast #Bessacarr #Solo
In this video I take a weekend away to the New Forest trying to beat the kids breaking up from school. It seems okay at first but doesn't all go to plan.
I stay at Aldridge Hill, one of the Camping in the New Forest sites, where the wildlife just roams freely.

Join me and my motorhome, Bentley, as I travel around the UK and explore some, hopefully, fascinating places. I love castles, coast, countryside, hillforts and just being out and about.
Bentley is my first van, a 2010 Bessacarr E540 motorhome. Bought in December 2019 it had done only 16,000 miles and is in immaculate condition. I intend to add a few more miles and I hope you can follow me on my journey.

ALDRIDGE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM REVISITED FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 3RD 2010
My first visit to Aldridge since I left for Kelowna BC Canada back in February 2008 and I have to say I felt a lump in my throat... As I filmed my old house in Portland Road I could see the ceramic 48 disc that I fitted many years ago and I see that my lovely carriage lanterns are looking as wonderful as the day I fist installed them... I have many fabulous memories of Aldridge...
The Aldridg Chippy is the best fish and chip shop I ever used!!! Here we see my previous neighbour Sam who works at the Aldridge Chippy saying hello...
You can also see my buddy Jonathan Brookes Photography premises which are directly opposite my old house.
I had many a great drinking session with my buddies in the Elms and the Conservative club in Aldridge. And it was nice having my old buddy Fozzy Graham Forsyth living minutes away from me...

Montana Yellowstone Ghost Towns - Fort Shaw, Chico, Aldridge, Jardine
Montana has some spectacular places to visit as well as some interesting ghost towns! To begin, Fort Shaw is different than the other 3 in this video because 1) it's a ghost fort not a town, and 2) it isn't nestled in between the mountains of southern Montana. It's very interesting to be at the fort - glad I took the detour. Chico, Aldridge, and Jardine all have to do with the mining history of Montana and are located in some of the most beautiful spots imagineable!

Places to see in ( Olney - UK )
Places to see in ( Olney - UK )
Olney is a market town and civil parish in the Borough of Milton Keynes, South East England. It is also part of the ceremonial county of Buckinghamshire, with a population of around 6,500 people. It lies on the River Great Ouse, very close to the borders with Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire and equidistant from Northampton, Bedford and Milton Keynes. It has easy access to the M1 at Junction 14 (approximately seven miles) and fast train links to London from Milton Keynes Central or Bedford (each approximately twelve miles distant). It is a popular tourist destination, perhaps best known for the Olney Pancake Race and for the Olney Hymns by William Cowper and John Newton.
First mentioned as Ollanege (Olla's island) in 932, the town has a history as a lace-making centre. The place, later called Olnei was held in 1086 AD by Bishop Geoffrey of Coutances as its overlord, according to the Domesday Book. During the English Civil War, Olney was the site of the Battle of Olney Bridge.
In the late 18th century, William Cowper and John Newton collaborated here on what became known as the Olney Hymns. John Newton, author of the hymn Amazing Grace, was curate of Olney and is buried here. His guest was William Cowper (English poet and hymnodist (1731–1800)). The town has the Cowper and Newton Museum dedicated to them. The museum was adapted from Cowper's former residence, which was given to the town in 1905 by the publisher William Hill Collingridge (who had been born in the house). Newton was succeeded as curate in Olney by the biblical commentator Thomas Scott (1747–1821).
The hamlet of Olney Park Farm to the north of the town of Olney derives its name from a park established in 1374 by Ralph, Third Baron Bassett of Sapcote in Leicester. In 1861 it attained civil parish status, but was subsequently incorporated into an enlarged Olney civil parish around 1931. Olney formerly had its own railway station on the Bedford—Northampton line, but the line was closed in 1962.
The A509 road runs into the wide High Street bordered by historic town houses. The Market Place is the site of a general market on Thursdays and a farmers' market on the first Sunday each month. The vast majority of Olney shops are independents, attracting shoppers from further afield to find the galleries, antique, rug and furniture sellers, as well as boutiques for interior design, fashionable clothes and perfumery. There are restaurants, pubs, cafes and takeaways offering a wide variety of British and international food.
As Olney continues to expand, with new housing estates, a secondary-level satellite campus, Ousedale School has opened for pupils from year 7 to year 11. Olney Infants School is for reception to year 2 children and Olney Middle School takes the children up to year 6, at the age of 11. The route for an A509 by-pass may continue to be an issue for the residents of the town, as are the various wind farm sites proposed in the locality.

Can we cross the UK's 2nd largest city without using a single road?
It's here. Quite possible my maddest mission to date.
Back in April I convinced my poor brother to join me once more as we made an audacious attempt to cross the entire city of Birmingham, from Sandwell in the west over to Solihull in the East, without using and roads or canals.
With more people, more security, more filth and sewage and some of Birmingham's most knife crime ridden housing estates, this one promised to be a serious step up from the already challenging Black Country Mission from back in 2021.
There had to be slightly more leeway whilst crossing roads this time, but some of the shit we had to go through more than makes up for that I reckon.
This one was tricky to film and edit! show your support by liking the video and subscribing if you haven't already.
*** You can now purchase a dazzling new Birmingham no roads mission poster, designed by the incredibly talented Roman Stevens, over on the official GeoWizard website. They sum this mission up perfectly and somehow make Birmingham look aesthetically pleasing. They also won't be available for too long so add one to your collection while you can: ***
