Tunis, the capital of Tunisia | Best Places to Visit in Tunis, Tunisia
Tunis, the vibrant capital and largest city of Tunisia, is a stunning Mediterranean destination. The city is situated on the Gulf of Tunis, bordered by the Lake of Tunis and the port of La Goulette. With its rich history and culture, Tunis is a hub of activity and a must-visit for anyone exploring North Africa.
The Libyans founded them in the 2nd millennium BCE and, over time, occupied by Berbers and Numidians.
Tunis was ruled by several civilizations, including the Phoenicians, Romans, Arab Muslims, Ottomans, Spanish, French, and Germans, before it gained independence as the capital of Tunisia in 1956.

From the winding alleys of the medina, it is filled with tantalizing aromas and colourful bazaars to the sleek and contemporary architecture of the modern city.

Sidi Bou Said is a picturesque Andalusian-style town overlooking the Mediterranean and Gulf of Tunis in northern Tunisia.
Tunisia is one of the most charming places to visit. It is known for its traditional white houses, blue doors, wrought-iron windows, cobbled alleys and gardens overflowing with bougainvillaea and other colourful flowers.

A trip through the streets of Tunis and La Marsa, Lamiri Harissa x Tunez Magazine
Tunisia's rich culture revolves around society, traditions, beautiful landscapes and food - there is no better embodiment of this than Harissa.
Harissa is delicious, warm and nostalgic for all Tunisians. That brings us back to dinner with the family, all huddled around a big bowl of couscous, which is what brings everyone together.
Lamiri Harissa is a true Tunisian Harissa, driven by society and rooted in culture.
Made in the marina, a beach town with bustling markets filled with food vendors calling out their fresh produce, kids playing in the street and the sun shining all over it.
Perfect for Couscous and Shakshouka but we put harissa in everything! It's the secret ingredient that makes everyone wonder how good our food tastes.
Lamiri Harissa is a family recipe that has been passed down for generations. We use only the original ingredients we buy from local farmers and combine them the traditional way. It's so good because it's real. A real source for Tunisia.

Tunis (Arabic: تونس Tūnis) is the capital and largest city of Tunisia. The greater metropolitan area of Tunis, often referred to as Grand Tunis, has about 2,700,000 inhabitants. As of 2020, it is the third-largest city in the Maghreb region (after Casablanca and Algiers) and the eleventh-largest in the Arab world.
La Marsa (Tunisian Arabic: المرسى Il Marṣā) is a coastal town in far north eastern Tunisia near the capital Tunis. The population is estimated as 92,987, as of 2014. The old summer capital of pre-colonial Tunisia, it is today a popular vacation spot for many wealthy Tunisians. It is connected to Tunis by the TGM railway. Gammarth is adjacent to El Marsa further up the coast.
Ancient Carthage was a Semitic civilization centered on the Phoenician city-state of Carthage, located in North Africa on the Gulf of Tunis, outside what is now Tunis, Tunisia. It was founded in 814 BC. Originally a dependency of the Phoenician state of Tyre, Carthage gained independence around 650 BC and established a hegemony over other Phoenician settlements throughout the Mediterranean, North Africa and what is now Spain which lasted until the end of the 3rd century BC. At the height of the city's prominence, its political influence extended over most of the western Mediterranean and it was one of the major trade hubs.
For much of its history, Carthage was in a constant state of struggle with the Greeks on Sicily and the Roman Republic, which led to a series of armed conflicts known as the Sicilian Wars and Punic Wars. They also had to deal with the volatile Berbers, the indigenous inhabitants of the entire area where Carthage was built. In 146 BC, after the third and final Punic War, Carthage was destroyed and then occupied by Roman forces. Nearly all of the other Phoenician city-states and former Carthaginian dependencies fell into Roman hands from then on.

Who am I?
A man from the USA trying to discover the world one place at a time, while sharing the experiences through my lens. I like traveling to places that are usually not first on most people’s itinerary and showing everyone that these places are worth the journey. I want to experience all the countries I visit as a member of the society but at the same time learn about the culture, food and beautiful people. Growth is not achievable without leaving your comfort zone, so just do it!
