Bethany - العزرية why it was important and does the tomb belong to Lazarus?
Bethany or Elezarie (in arabic which stands for Lazarus) located on the Mount of Olives right on the border with the wilderness.Less than 2 miles from Jerusalem as mentioned in John 11:18, was the favorite town of refuge for Jesus Christ and it was the town of his friends Lazarus and his 2 sisters Mary and Martha. All of the Peligrims used to pass through Bethany first then Bethphage on their way to Jerusalem so we can imagine how many times Jesus walked through Bethany
here are the important events that took place there: John 11 talks about raising Lazarus from the dead, John 12 talks about the anointment of Jesus by Mary, Luke 10:38 talks about Martha complaining about her sister.
