Walking Holiday in Palestine
Whatever you choose to call it -- Palestine; the Palestinian Territories; the Holy Land; the West Bank -- this ancient land remains one of the most fascinating - and controversial - places on the planet. On this 9-day trip - and in contrast to many other trips in the region - our aim is to travel (predominantly on foot) with neither a political nor a religious agenda, but instead with the aim of gaining an insight into the everyday lives and rich culture of the Palestinian people and experiencing a rarely seen side of the Middle East. My name is Marc Leaderman, I run the Group Tours department at Wild Frontiers, and in this video I am going to explain a little more about our 'Wild Walk In Palestine'.
After transferring from Tel Aviv airport, the tour starts in the old city of Nablus with its medieval souk and then travels slowly south as we walk from village to village, staying mainly with local families. From the fertile valleys of ancient Samaria we then skirt along the edge of the Rift valley and head down below sea-level to the shores of the Dead Sea before finally making our way through the Judean desert and on to Bethlehem and finally Jerusalem.
For anyone that enjoys really getting below the surface of a country, this must rank as one of the very best tours that we offer. Not only do we get to walk and talk with a whole range of Palestinians eager to share their stories, but by actually staying in some of their homes we also get the chance to experience a little of their daily life and their wonderful food -- this is not a trip for those looking to lose weight! In addition, for a trip which actually covers only a relatively small distance, the variety of the scenery and the sights is quite astounding. On one day we might find ourselves wandering through olive groves & deserted Roman hilltop towns and then having lunch with some refugees; on another we might pass Byzantine era churches in a desert wadi before having dinner with some Bedouin in their camp.
This is not a major trekking trip, but on most days there'll be at least 3-4 hrs of walking. And in fact many of the paths we take form part of the so-called Abraham Trail which National Geographic in 2014 voted as one of the world's best new walks. But, as with all our wild walks, there is a lot more to this trip just walking, and whether it's eating knafeh (a baked cheese dessert, drenched in syrup) from a street seller in Nablus souk, sampling a beer from Palestine's only micro-brewery in Taybeh or walking the millennia-old streets of Jerusalem's old city, this trip is guaranteed to leave you with many lifelong memories.
Despite having led trips all over the world, this trip remains one of my all-time favourites and I would unreservedly recommend the Wild Walk in Palestine to anyone looking for something which offers a glimpse into this rarely visited...and rarely understood, yet utterly welcoming and eternally fascinating part of the world.

Home of the Good Samaritan: Mt. Gerazim – הר גריזים והבית של השומרונים
The difficult access to Mt. Gerazim, in the hills of Samaria, is the home base of the ancient Samaritans. A sect of Judaism that intermarried after the Babylonian exile in 586 BCE, they competed against Jerusalem for an alternative Temple on Gerazim, as well as sectarian addition to the 10 commandments. Today, the Samaritans number less than 1000 and protected by the modern State of Israel. This movie highlights their identity, the antiquities on Mt. Gerazim, and the Exodus-like Passover they conduct every year, which attracts thousands of people.

A Glimpse Of Tel Aviv & Jerusalem - Israel
In this video you'll get a glimpse of Tel Aviv & Jerusalem - Israel.
Tel Aviv is a coastal city in Israel. The city is the second largest city in Israel and is located on the Mediterranean Sea. The city is also the center of the most populated part of Israel, the Gush Dan (Dan area).
Tel Aviv is Hebrew for spring hill. The city ranked in 2012 in third place on Lonely Planet's Top ten cities. Known as the city that never sleeps, Tel Aviv receives about 3.8 million foreign visitors a year.
The city is famous for its beaches and the white city of Tel Aviv is famous for its architecture and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Tel Aviv is also Israel's financial capital, the center for arts and business and has been ranked as the world's largest startup center outside of Silicon Valley, California. The city is named among the world's most expensive metropolitan cities, ranked among the most global metropolitan cities in the world and among the best beach-metropolitan cities by National Geographic, among the best urban beaches in the world by Yahoo Travel. Tel Aviv has also been chosen as one of the world's best gay destinations.
The city is considered by the United Nations as the capital of Israel, which is why all countries with diplomatic relations with Israel have their embassies in Tel Aviv or other coastal cities.
Jerusalem is the holiest city in Judaism and Christianity. It is also considered the third holiest city in Islam. Although the Old City only has an area of 0.9 km², it holds a number of places of religious significance, including the Temple Mount, the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Rock Cathedral and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Samaria landscape, Aerial 4K /السامرة שומרון
Samaria is a historical and biblical name used for the central region of the ancient Land of Israel, bordered by Galilee to the north and Judaea to the south.[2][3] For the beginning of the Common Era, Josephus set the Mediterranean Sea as its limit to the west, and the Jordan River as its limit to the east.[3] Its territory largely corresponds to the biblical allotments of the tribe of Ephraim and the western half of Manasseh; after the death of Solomon and the splitting-up of his empire into the southern Kingdom of Judah and the northern Kingdom of Israel, this territory constituted the southern part of the Kingdom of Israel.[2] The border between Samaria and Judea is set at the latitude of Ramallah.[4]
The name Samaria is derived from the ancient city of Samaria, the second capital of the northern Kingdom of Israel.

Mount Gerezim Israel Virtual Tours Bible Land in Shomron and Judea
Today we are visiting Mount Gerezim in the Shomron.
In the Bible we read: When the LORD your God brings you into the land that you are about to enter and possess, you shall pronounce the blessing at Mount Gerizim and the curse at Mount Ebal. Deuteronomy 11:29
Six tribes were directed to climb up each mountain. The six who stood on mount Gerezim were: ... After you have crossed the Jordan, the following shall stand on Mount Gerizim when the blessing for the people is spoken: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin. Deuteronomy 27:12
Mount Gerezim is the holy mountain to the Samaritan people as they believe that the blessing never left the mountain. They believe that this is the holy mountain in contrast to the Jewish tradition that the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is the holy mountain.
Archaeologists believe that they have found remains of the Samaritan temple that stood here in parallel to the Judean temple of Solomon in Jerusalem during the 2nd Temple time.
Following a great defeat to the Romans the Byzantine built a huge octagonal shaped church over the ruins of the Samaritan holy place. Remains of this huge structure can be seen while touring the site.
The site is administered by Israel’s national parks association. Who charge admission fee to enter. There are clean restrooms, a visitors center with a very well done video presentation. The site is not totally accessible for wheelchairs and disabled people as parts of the tours require climbing steps up and down. Parking is very close to the visitors center. The archaeological park is not far from the Samaritan neighborhood which has its own museum and places of interest and of course the famous Har Baracha Tehina factory and Joseph’s overlook where we can see the view of the city of Shechem, Joseph’s tomb and Jacobs well.
