Çatalhöyük 9,000 Year Old Prehistoric City in Türkiye 🇹🇷 Turkey #short #shorts #shortvideo
Çatalhöyük, one of the main reasons we planned this whole trip to Türkiye. This is just the intro to my full video, watch the whole thing on my channel. This is an extremely old prehistoric city in the south/central part of Turkey. Though not as old as some of our upcoming stops at Göbeklitepe and Karahantepe. This was, until the discovery of those sites believe to be the oldest human settlement. But as Turkey is absolutely covered in unexcavated Neolithic sites. Who really knows where the oldest city really is. Sadly we didn't have enough time to make it to the archeological museum in Konya to see much of the things that were found at Catalhoyuk. It was still an incredible day.

Ancient Neolithic Site Göbekli Tepe in Southeastern Türkiye 🇹🇷 #short #shorts #shortvideo
Göbeklitepe was one of the ancient sites we built this trip around, along with Çatalhöyük. This site as of now is from at least 9500 BCE, though as further excavations are done this timeline gets pushed back. My sister has been wanting to see this site for well over 10 years and we finally were able to make it. As more excavations are done in the area more and more sites from the same time period are being discovered. These sites are causing archeologists to drastically rethink ancient human advancement and the timeline to reach farming and permanent settlements.
