IS THIS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TOWN IN GHANA 🇬🇭? #ghana

Akosombo is a small town in the south of the Asuogyaman District, Eastern Region, Ghana with notable street names of some African Countries in the sub-region like Ghana, Congo, Namibia, Lagos-town, Freetown etc. It is preoccupied by people of diverse ethnic background like the Akans, Ewe, Krobo and other ethnic’s. Akosombo is north of the Adomi Bridge at Atimpoku, which is a 3 to 5 min drive away.

The town of Akosombo is the site of the Akosombo Dam. The Dam which is managed by Volta River Authority, they also manage the town making it autonomous, the affairs of the town is managed by the authority and not any government official.

I was told that the indigenes were living around the area of the textile factory which is few kilometers away from the entrance of the town and the authorities moved them that they were not making the place dignified so they moved them behind their quarters to an area called combine. You are viewing combine right which is the settlement for the indigenes with their chief and elders who manage the area.
Akosombo is a very beautiful place with well layout except for the combine which is having an improper settlement style.
There is mess community 1 and community 2 where workers of the authority live, these are the beautiful quarters that you are seeing in your shots now.

Top 10 Ghana Cities By Population

The population history of Ghana has undergone significant changes over the years. Here is an overview of Ghana's population trends:

Pre-Colonial Era: Before European colonization, the region that is now Ghana was inhabited by various ethnic groups, such as the Akan, Ga-Adangbe, Ewe, and others. The population was dispersed across different regions, and estimates vary due to limited data.

Colonial Era: During the colonial period, Ghana was known as the Gold Coast and was under British rule. The British administration brought changes to the region, including infrastructure development and the introduction of cash crops. The population increased gradually, but detailed population records were not systematically kept.

Independence and Post-Colonial Period: Ghana gained independence from British colonial rule in 1957, becoming the first sub-Saharan African country to do so. After independence, population growth accelerated as the country pursued economic development and social progress. Government initiatives in healthcare and education contributed to improved life expectancy and reduced infant mortality rates.

Population Growth: Ghana's population has been steadily increasing over the years. In the 1960s and 1970s, the country experienced high population growth rates, partly due to improvements in healthcare and declining mortality rates. This growth has continued, albeit at a slightly slower pace in recent decades.

Urbanization: Urbanization has been a significant trend in Ghana's population history. Cities and towns have experienced rapid growth, particularly the capital city, Accra, and the second-largest city, Kumasi. Urban centers attract people seeking employment, education, and better opportunities, leading to an increased urban population and the development of urban infrastructure.

Demographic Transition: Ghana has undergone a demographic transition characterized by declining fertility rates and improving life expectancy. Access to healthcare, family planning, and educational opportunities for women have contributed to lower birth rates and increased life expectancy.

Current Population: As of 2021, Ghana has a population of over 31 million people, making it one of the most populous countries in Africa. The population is diverse, consisting of various ethnic groups with distinct languages, cultures, and traditions.

The population history of Ghana reflects the country's journey from pre-colonial times to the present day. It has experienced population growth, urbanization, and improvements in healthcare and education. Ghana's population continues to shape and be shaped by social, economic, and demographic factors as the country progresses and faces future challenges.

Accra City Tour | Oxford Street Osu | Accra City | Ghana Tour

The city of Accra is officially divided into five geographical regions - North, West, East, Central and south - and eleven sub-metropolitan areas: Osu Klottey, Ablekuma North, Ablekuma South, Ayawaso Central, Ayawaso East, Ayawaso North, Ayawaso West, La, Okaikoi North, Okaikoi South, Abossey Okai, and Ashiedu Keteke.
There are, however, 50 official neighborhoods (i.e. planned and unplanned anchor neighborhoods) within the city limits of Accra.
Osu, Jamestown and Usshertown, established during the colonial era have well-defined boundaries by virtue of their siting around the respective forts of Christiansborg, James Fort, and Ussher Fort. The unplanned nature of the city has resulted in the development of slums and much smaller communities within officially recognized neighborhoods with a well-defined center but poorly identified extremities.
Planned neighborhoods
Currently, most of Accra's 22 planned neighborhoods were developed in the colonial era and are inhabited by rich Ghanaians and expatriates.
Victoriaborg, East Ridge, West Ridge, North Ridge, Adabraka, Asylum Down, McCarthy Hill, Airport Hills, Airport Residential Area, Roman Ridge, Kanda, Dzorwulu, East Legon, Kaneshie, Kokomlemle, Tesano, West Legon/Westlands, Abelemkpe, Cantonments, Labone, Burma Camp (formerly Giffard Camp), Chorkor, Mamprobi, Korle Bu, Korle Gonno, Lartebiokorshie, Mataheko, Dansoman, Adenta.
Unplanned neighborhoods
Agbogbloshie, Nima, Kpehe, Awoshie, Alajo, Avenor, Kotobabi, Bawaleshie, Christian Village, Pig Farm, Accra New Town, Maamobi, Abeka, Lapaz, Darkuman, Achimota, Teshie, Odorkor, Nii Boi Town, Akweteyman, Mantseman, Abossey Okai, Apenkwa, Bubiashie, Mpoase.
Slums
Agbogbloshie, Sabon Zongo, Old Fadama (Sodom and Gomorrah), Lavender Hill (Accra), Abuja, Chemuna, Gbegbeyise, Chorkor
