Mexico City Travel Guide - Top 10 things to do - Solo traveling
I just spent 1 month traveling around Mexico, and my last stop was the capital, Mexico City! It’s located 2200 meters above sea level, and it’s one of the largest metropolitan cities in the world. They offer over 60,000 curated experiences in more than 3,600 destinations worldwide. I used Get Your Guide to book a lot of the activities in today’s episode, it was so easy, and I had the best time!

Best Things to do in Mexico City | Mexico City Travel Guide
???? Save for your Mexico City trip! ????????
(Full video live on my channel!)
Mexico City is one of my favorite cities in the world, and one of the reasons is because there is just SO much to do there! So it was really hard to narrow it down, but if you only had a few days to explore the city, these are the top 5 things you can’t miss (aside from eating ALL THE FOOD ????).
????????♀️ These are my favorites of the city so of course they are all included in my Mexico City group trip itinerary happening this March! Check the comments for more info! ????????????????????????
1. Tour the Centro Historico
Here you can see the famous Zocalo square, Catedral Metropolitan, Templo Mayor, Palacio Postal, and Fine Arts Palace, just to name a few.
2. See a Lucha Libre show
Lucha Libre is such a fun way to experience Mexican culture and entertainment. Order a massive cerveza, learn some “colorful” phrases to shout at the wrestlers, and watch as they try to de-mask fellow wrestlers. ????♂️
3. Visit Chapultepec Castle
Chapultepec Park in itself is a must, but the castle is the main attraction. Tour the castle grounds and gardens, visit the museum located inside, and see a stunning view of both the park and city from atop the hill. ????
4. Ride a trajinera at Xochimilco
The Xochimilco canals are what is left of the ancient canals of Tenochtitlán. Now it’s a festive and colorful gathering place for families and tourists alike, and an absolute party. ????
5. Visit the Teotihuacan Pyramids
These are about 45 minutes outside the city, and one of the most significant places in Mexico City’s history. You Can tour the archeological site, ride ATVs, visit nearby caves, and even do a sunrise hot air balloon ride. ????
Which ones will you be adding to your Mexico City itinerary? ????

*I use both of these companies depending on the destination and requirements of entry. If you are going to be abroad for a long time and/or don't need as much coverage, I would recommend SafetyWing. BUT you cannot purchase SafetyWing WHILE in Canada or USA. You can only purchase once already abroad. Hey Mondo is more expensive but offers a higher level of coverage including plans that have trip cancellation/interruption insurance. Hey Mondo would be the better insurance to use if you need travel medical insurance when applying for a visa. Both companies cover covid. I am an affiliate for both companies, but I pay for my own policies.*

Inside Mexico’s Craziest Market - WE WERE SHOCKED! (our first time in Mexico City) | CDMX, Mexico
We’ve made it to Mexico City! In this video, we are experiencing the market culture in Mexico City (CDMX). We started at, La Merced Market, which is one of the largest and most vibrant markets in Mexico City (CDMX). La Merced can be a bit overwhelming at first, with its labyrinthine streets and endless rows of stalls and vendors. But it's all part of the experience, and we quickly got swept up in the excitement and energy of the place. The market is a true feast for the senses, with the smells, sounds, and colors of Mexico all around you.
We then visited Mercado Sonora, which is a vibrant and bustling market located right next to La Merced. You can find a wide variety of products, from traditional Mexican crafts and souvenirs to exotic herbs, spices, and potions used in traditional folk medicine.
After visiting Mercado Sonora, we continued our exploration of Mexico City by checking out some local establishments. We stopped at a pulqueria, which is a traditional Mexican bar that specializes in pulque, a fermented beverage made from the sap of the agave plant. Next, we visited a cantina, which is another type of traditional Mexican bar. Finally, we took a leisurely stroll around the old town of Mexico City, soaking up the rich history and vibrant culture of the area.

Progreso is a center for both the fishing industry and the container industry. All containers arrive in Progreso and are distributed to Yucatán, Campeche and Quintana Roo.
Progreso Yucatan also is one of the newest ports for large cruise ships and an emerging balneario resort destination. Passengers disembark on a very long pier, the Terminal Remota opened in 1989[2] that juts out 6.5 km (4.0 mi) into the Gulf of Mexico. Passengers are taken to shore to visit Progreso, Mérida or the Maya civilization archaeological sites of Uxmal and Dzibilchaltun.
During the months of July and August the beaches fill with thousands of mostly local tourists, as it is traditional in these months for residents of Mérida to leave the city and spend the summer in the cooler seaside environment.
Progreso was founded in 1872, to create a sea port closer to Mérida than the older port of Sisal, Yucatán.
Despite its coastal location and fairly humid climate (average humidity around 70–80%), Progreso has a semi-arid climate (Köppen climate classification BSh). There is little variation in average temperatures though the winter months from December to March are noticeably more cool. Precipitation is scarce throughout the year but is more abundant from June to October. On average, there are 36 days with measureable rainfall.
Progreso Mexico Cruise Port Tour, Beach & Shopping (4K)
See what the Progreso Cruise Port is like, including our experience shopping and going to the beach there via our vlog. The Progreso Pier is the longest in the world, and we took a shuttle from the terminal area where our cruise ship was docked into downtown. We then walked to the nearby beach- take a look at what that was like. The town had plenty of shops offering colorful hand-crafted goods. At the Progreso Malecon there were many restaurants, including the popular Crabster & Maya-Ka. This was a fun DIY excursion at a very interesting port for sure!
Towards the end of the video, you can get a nice look at the Progreso Cruise Terminal and Industrial Port area as our ship sailed away.
This was from our February 2020 Western Caribbean cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas.
