Saint Pierre and Miquelon is a popular place to visit from Newfoundland, as it only requires a 1.5-hour ferry. However, you can also fly there from a number of cities, including Montreal, Halifax, St. John's, and Paris!

And at just a 45 minute flight or 90 minute ferry ride from Newfoundland, this is the perfect spot for a romantic spa getaway for Canadians looking for a quick visit to France without the added cost and time of actually crossing the Atlantic. Hello people! Aujourd'hui, c'est une journée de déplacement! On a 4 h de route à faire à partir de St. John's et on se dirige vers Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, des îles qui appartiennent à la France! Donc, essentiellement on s'en va en France!
Pour aller sur ces îles, on doit prendre un traversier, alors on en profite pour vous montrer tout le processus pour s'y rendre! On y sera pour 4 jours et on compte bien manger au minimum une pâtisserie!

Seul territoire français en Amérique du Nord, l’archipel de Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon est situé à quelques encablures de Terre-Neuve. Sur 24 kilomètres carrés, Saint-Pierre abrite 6000 habitants, la majeure partie de la population de ce minuscule coin de France au milieu de l’Atlantique.
MIQUELON, la double insularité (2017) [SAINT-PIERRE-ET-MIQUELON]
La commune de Miquelon-Langlade est formée de deux presqu’îles reliées par un isthme de sable. Les 627 Miquelonnais sont pour la plupart descendants de Basques et de Normands, mais aussi d’Acadiens venus à la suite de la déportation. Souvent dans l’ombre de leur voisine Saint-Pierre, ils sont tout aussi fiers de leur appartenance à leur coin de France en Amérique.

Découvrez en images le Dunefest 2021 avec principalement des images des coulisses (Bar, Cuisine, scène) mais également du traditionnel concours de mangeur de homard, de château de sable, des feux d'artifice et du feu de camp. Un super rdv qui rassemble chaque année plusieurs centaines de personnes sur le sable de Langlade. 你知道嗎？在北美洲除了美國和加拿大以外，居然還有一個袖珍法國。這就是聖皮埃爾和密克隆群島，北美洲最後一塊法國殖民地。
聖密群島距離加拿大海岸只有25公里，由八個島嶼組成，總面積242平方公里。其中只有聖皮埃爾和密克隆島有人居住。
聖密群島於1520年首次由葡萄牙人登陸，但在16年後卻成了法國的殖民地。到18世紀時，法國的北美殖民地新法蘭西就已經覆蓋了，由新奧爾良，路易斯安那州，和包括加拿大在內的數千平方公里的土地。
但是在英法七年戰爭（1756-1763）之後，法國被迫將加拿大和路易斯安那分別割讓給了英國和西班牙， 只保留下了大陸以外的聖密群島。
一直以來漁業始終是聖密群島經濟的支柱，但從1920年開始島民們卻陸續放棄捕魚，轉而做起了走私酒的生意，因為那一年美國頒布了禁酒令。聖密群島一下子就成為了向美國走私酒的中心，進而快速走進了前所未有的經濟繁榮，但是當禁酒令於1933年結束以後，島民們就又重新操起了捕魚舊業。
可鱈魚種群的逐漸枯竭以及1992年加拿大政府頒布的禁止鱈魚捕撈的禁令，幾乎終止了當地漁業的發展。
如今島民們大力發展的水產養殖加工，和細膩精緻充滿異國體驗的旅遊業。
聖密群島只有6000居民，其中90％都住在首都聖皮埃爾，因屬法國，自然也是歐盟的一部分。但是非法國公民的歐盟國民不允許在群島上自由遷徙或從事商業活動，所以聖密群島實際上就是北美洲的法國，文化方式與生活方式都是法國式的，人們的法語口語甚至比魁北克更接近法國大都市。
在首都聖皮埃爾蜿蜒曲折的街道上，到處都是充滿活力的商店和餐廳，既能享用法國美食，
又可以在商店裡練習法語，而這些商店也像在歐洲一樣，每天中午12點到下午2點都會關門。
這裡的遊客大都來自美國和加拿大，吸引他們的則是島上獨特的法國文化，在島上歐元和加元都被廣泛接受，不過你要拿一加拿大手機那可就算是國際漫遊了。
離開首都，風景如畫的島上擁有很多徒步路徑，而大部分地區都是光禿禿的岩石，那些色彩繽紛的木屋村莊則更加凸顯出歐洲的味道。
像大多數小島社區一樣，聖密群島的人們非常友好，有時對陌生遊客也會自發地說一聲早安，即使在大雪紛飛的寒冷冬季，也會帶給你無限的溫暖。
