Semuc Champey Adventures: Cave Swimming + Waterfall Jumping with Zephyr Lodge in Lanquin Guatemala

Who wants to jump off waterfalls, swim in caves, wade in turquoise waters, and hike through one of the most beautiful forests in Guatemala? Well this is the video for you if you want to experience one of the most picturesque landscapes in Central America and Guatemala. Semuc Champey is a National Monument known for the turquoise waters, 300 meter limestone bridge, clear pools to swim in, and is located just outside of Lanquin, Guatemala. #semucchampey #lanquinguatemala #guatemalatravel #guatemalatravelguide #centralamerica #guatemala
.
Many people come for Semuc Champey, but I particularly fell in love with the experience of visiting the Lanquin Caves, hiking to the Semuc Champey Mirador, and eating lunch with the locals. Zephyr Lodge is also an experience in itself, with beautiful dorms, deluxe dorms, private rooms, cabins, an infinity pool with the best view, and a restaurant on site there is everything you need. My opinion is this is the best place to stay when visiting Lanquin, Guatemala and Semuc Champey.

Semuc Champey Guatemala First Impressions ????????

This is our first impressions of Semuc Champey in Guatemala in Central America in September 2022.

We also enjoyed our brief time in Coban (Cobán (Kekchí: Kob'an), fully Santo Domingo de Cobán) and Lanquin (San Agustín Lanquín) as well.

Description in English and Spanish Below. Subtitles are available in English and Spanish. Descripción en inglés y español a continuación. Los subtítulos están disponibles en Inglés y Español.

If you enjoy this tour from around Semuc Champey Guatemala then be sure to subscribe to see our upcoming videos from across Guatemala. You should add Semuc Champey Guatemala to your travel wishlist! In this Semuc Champey travel guide and Guatemala vlog we will show you the country of eternal spring. We show you what to do, and things to do in Semuc Champey Guatemala. We hope this video gives you perspective and maybe changes your mind about Guatemala, in which you can decide if Guatemala is safe to visit. Semuc Champey in Guatemala is a must-visit spot if you're making your way to this amazing country. We are now in the heart of the Maya World.

The name Semuc Champey comes from the Q'eqchi (ketch e) (also Quequchi or Kekchi) language and roughly means where the river hides. The river that hides is the Cahabòn River which powers underneath. This site features a natural limestone bridge and limestone pools filled with turquoise water. The water cascades from one pool to the next through a series of waterfalls. This was declared a “natural monument” in 2005. Semuc Champey was highly recommend by locals and we are glad we were able to visit. It truly is a natural paradise.

Solo in Guatemala's Most Violent Cartel Hood! (Zone-18)????????

Guatemala City is divided into different zones. The biggest and most violent is Zone 18. It is fully controlled by gang members (Mara 18) and every local I asked warned me not to visit this place at all. Not even its small central market.
I fully respect their advice which is for my own good, but I am very curious to see with my own eyes what this Hood Cartel looks like and most importantly what the locals there have to say about the most dangerous place in Guatemala City.

Let's see.....

BUT when we finally arrived, we found ourselves swimming in pristine turquoise waters and hiking up to an epic viewpoint.

Caving by candlelight in the jungle-The Best Day Trip in Guatemala: Semuc Champey

Semuc Champey is one of the most beautiful national parks we have ever seen, and one of the best things to do in Guatemala. Natural pools of visual perfection, waterslides, waterfalls, a green river, water swings, tubing, caving, Mayan makeup, what more can you ask for? Guatemala is blowing us away with its natural beauty!! It is not a place we ever panned to travel, but COVID travel has changed everything. Guatemala is one of the places easy for Americans to travel right now. We are glad the Pandemic has driven off the beaten path because Semuc Champey National Park is a ridiculous hidden gem, a 300m long series of natural pools cut into the limestone by God himself. The pools are one of the most beautiful landscapes we have ever seen in person. Just getting to the spot deep in the mountains of Guatemala is a journey in itself, but man is it worth it! Not only can you enjoy the National Park for a very nominal fee, the nearby hostel is a hidden gem, and the private property across the bridge offers all kinds of water activities, including and hour-long caving adventure by candlelight that is truly an exciting descent into the unknown. Waterfalls, natural waterslides, deep water rope crossings, and cliff jumps, all in the pitch black was so much more fun than we envisioned. Would you go caving in a water-filled cave with nothing but a candle? If you have older kids, Semuc is one of the best things to do as a family in Guatemala.

ROAD TO SEMUC CHAMPEY

here i show you some of my last travel to semuc champey Guatemala,
one of my best trips to this part of guatemala, I got here and immediately taked a tour to kanvan caves, with a group of tourist of england and italy, then we visited the waterfall when i had planed to jump, but i was not able to climb the large rock due to the high current of the river, so i had conformed with a 5 meter jump , i take a couple of Q10 quetzales beer and enjoyed a costilla lunch, during my stay in semuc i losted the locker keys, so i spend about one hour searching at the trees but i never found them, so i had to buy a copy. i swam about an hour in the pools of semuc before go to kanvan caves, it was not allowed jump in the bridge due to the low water level, so i did not jump, but maybe in the next travel i will jump of the bridge and the waterfall near of kanvan caves, this time i didnot take the full tour because we had to go at midday
