During our time in December 2023 exploring the wonderful region of Khao Lak we spent quite a few days checking our all the local beaches. Our goal was to help you find your best beach in the Khao Lak area. We went to the famous beaches like; White Sand Beach in the north, Memories Beach and Khuk Khak Beach near Bang Niang Town. But we also found some amazingly stunning hidden gems like the beautiful Bang Sak beach, one not to the be missed while you are exploring the Khao Lak region in Phang Nga Province in the South of Thailand

Khrua Luang Then (ร้าน ครัวหลวงเทน) - During my trip to Southern Thailand, and specifically the southern Thai province of Phang Nga, one of the restaurants I was most looking forward to eating was Khrua Luang Then (ร้าน ครัวหลวงเทน) - it was a place I could feel I was going to love before going - just from the look of powerful spices in the dishes, and the laid-back environment. Turned out to be one of the best Thai food meals I’ve had in a long time, one of my new favorite restaurants in all of Thailand.
We arrived in the morning just as they opened, and already Chef was extremely friendly and welcoming. We ordered a bunch of dishes - and they have some unique southern Thai food dishes that you won’t find elsewhere - so I was extremely excited.
Here are the main dishes we ordered:
Sour curry sea catfish แกงส้มปลาดุกทะเล
Beef dry curry คั่วกลิ้นเนื้อ
Fried fish turmeric ปลาทอดขมิ้น
Black stingray curry ผัดเผ็ดปลากระเบนดำ
Red ant omelet ไข่เจียวมดแดง
Octopus pineapple โวยวายสับปะรด
Sea shells หอยชักตีน
Stir fried morning glory ผัดผักบุ้ง
Total price - 1,800 THB ($55.46)
Before eating, I had a chance to watch Chef as he masterfully cooked all the dishes. His insane skills and use of huge amounts of spice blew my taste buds before even starting to eat. He makes all his own curry pastes, and sources all his ingredients locally.
The food was absolutely insane, bold, spicy, tingly, and a sensation for the tongue. Mind blowing flavor, and strong to the max curries. I loved every bite, and the entire experience.
Khrua Luang Then (ร้าน ครัวหลวงเทน) is located in Khao Lak (เขาหลัก), Phang Nga province (พังงา) in southern Thailand. Khrua Luang Then (ร้าน ครัวหลวงเทน) is also featured in the Thailand Michelin Guide. Must eat if you are a spicy Thai food lover!

Quickly becoming one of Thailand's Tourism hot spots is Khao Lak. In the province of Phang Nga just north of Phuket and on the Andaman Sea Coast is where Khao Lak is located. This region is made up from 3 Thailand Villages, Nang Thong, Bang Niang and Khao Lak. Spread out over approximately 30 kilometers of coast line Khao Lak has some outstanding beaches like the famous Memories Beach Surf spot, White Sand Beach, Coconut Beach, Khuk Khak Beach, Nang Thong Beach and Small Sandy Beach in the National Park. Khao Lak area has Thap Lamu Port which is the gateway to the magnificent Similan Islands National Park. This area has made a very strong recovery after being devistated by the 2004 Tsunami and really is worth adding to your list of destinations when planning your Thailand Travel Adventure.

We start off in Khao Lak Oriental Resort and from there we check out the Bang Niang Night Market, a black beach and White Sand Beach. This is the introduction of Khao Lak.

It's open every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10am till 10pm, but the best time to get there is after 4pm.
Bang Niang market is a mix of local market and tourist market. You will find everything there, from fresh food (meat, seafood, fruit & vegetables) and cooking ingredients, to street food, souvenirs, clothes and all other types of toristy items. The market is also home to a number of bars and restaurants. If you are in Khao Lak, Bang Niang Market is definitely worth a visit.

Thai Street Food is a must to try if you’re on holidays in Thailand. AMAZING Thai Food In KHAO LAK ???????? BEST EVER Crispy Pork and Fern Salad
KHAO LAK, THAILAND - Finding authentic Thai food in Khao Lak wasn't easy. But for me, Ko Yot Thai is the best restaurant in Khao Lak for Thai street food. The quality of the food is very high and the dishes are insanely delicious. It was the best meal I ate in Southern Thailand so far on the road trip. It was so good I ate here multiple times and ate most of the menu. But in this video I eat the crispy pork with salt and chilli, fern salad and Kua Kling Gai. The flavours were so good from the hot wok. Chef really knows what he is doing. If you are a Thai food lover and visiting Khao Lak in Phang Nga Province, Ko Yot Thai Restaurant (ครัวโก้ยศ อาหารตามสั่ง) is a must visit restaurant. It is probably the best crispy pork in Thailand that I have eaten.

Khao Sok National Park is located in the south of Thailand. Perfectly situated between some of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, it’s a highlight you can’t miss. The beautiful Cheow Larn Lake is the heartbeat of the park, surrounded by a lush rainforest, vast limestone mountains, unique caves, and an abundance of flora and fauna.
