TOP 5 BEST THAI DISHES! | My Favorite Thai Food in Bangkok, Thailand!

Huge thank you to Greg from Travizeo for filming and making this video!
Subscribe now: for 2 new videos every week.
A totally different style video today, hope you enjoy it!

One of the most common questions I get asked is Mark, “what are your favorite Thai foods?” And so when Greg was in Bangkok I thought it would be an awesome idea to cover when he was filming with his amazing video skills.

By the way, Greg films cinematic travel videos for brands and promotions, and he also happens to love to eat! Go check out his videos ( and website for more details ( And I was very excited when he offered to film and edit a video for me.

Choosing my favorite Thai dishes is a very hard thing to do, but I narrowed it down.

1. Braised beef fire pot (เกาเหลาเนื้อหม้อไฟ) at Heng Chun Seng (ร้าน เฮ้งชุนเส็ง) - There’s just about nothing better to eat for breakfast in Bangkok, and after trying quite a few versions, Heng Chun Seng is still my favorite. The beef is tender and most of all the soup is so fragrant from the herbs and beef. Google map:

2. Holy basil stir fry (กระเพราหมูสับ) at Ung Jia Huad (ร้านอึ้งเจี่ยฮวด) - If there’s one dish that could be the most popular and beloved easy to eat Thai food, it’s holy basil stir fry (with your choice of meat). It’s a dish that always hits the spot. Google map:

3. Green papaya salad (ตำปูปลาร้า) Stall on Sukhumvit - You’ll find green papaya salad on just about every street corning in Bangkok and throughout Thailand. My favorite version is som tam boo plaraa, dressed with fermented fish sauce.

4. Fish viscera curry (แกงไตปลา) at Janhom (ร้านจันทร์หอม) - Southern Thai food is always a favorite of mine, and gaeng tai pla, or a curry made with fish viscera is one of the most flavorful Thai foods of them all. Google map:

5. Jungle curry (แกงป่า) at Pla Mae Nam (ร้านปลาแม่น้ำ) - A dish I just can’t get over, and have to order every chance I have, is Thai jungle curry. It’s an amazing mixture of chilies and herbs, and in this case, fish. This is also one of my favorite restaurants in Bangkok at the moment as well. Google map:

There it is, 5 of my favorite dishes in Thailand. Thank you for watching this video!

Again, huge thank you to Greg from Travizeo for filming and editing this entire video!

Top 5 Thai STREET FOOD Noodle Dishes to Try in Bangkok, Thailand - with Mike Chen!

Join Mike Chen and I as we discover 5 Thai food noodle dishes!
►Check out Mike’s channel:
►Subscribe to my channel for more videos:

Mike and I decided to go on a Thai street food noodles tour, where we tried 5 different types of Thai street food noodle dishes in one day. Mike was in Bangkok visiting from New York, and we got along very well - both of us are food lovers, and both of us are a little obsessed with spice.

Here are the restaurants where we ate in the Thai street food noodle tour of Bangkok.

1. Wattana Panich (วัฒนาพานิช) - This place is legendary for serving braised beef noodles, and most importantly for their giant everlasting cauldron of simmering meat that never stops. Their classic bowl of beef noodles is a little expensive due to the area and fame, but it’s so good. If you’re more adventurous you can also try their Soup Number 5, and the goat soup which is outstanding.

Kuay teow neua tukyang (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเนื้อทุกอย่าง beef noodles with everything)
Soup number 5 (ตัวเดียวอันเดียวแพะ bull penis soup)
Sup peh (ซุปแพะ braised goat soup)
Total price - 765 THB ($22.01)

2. Nay Lao Radna Yodpak (นายเหลา ราดหน้ายอดผัก) - At this little restaurant you’ll find one of the best versions of Thai pad see ew in all of Bangkok. It’s smoky, full of flavor, and the egg makes it incredible.

Pad see ew sen yai (ผัดซีอิ๊วเส้นใหญ่)
Pad see ew sen mee paem kai jeow (ผัดซีอิ๊วเส้นหมี่เพิ่มไข่เจียว)
Sen yai radna (เส้นใหญ่ราดหน้า)
5 bowls of noodles - 275 THB ($7.91)

3. Kuay Teow Reua Khon Mee Sen (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือคนมีเส้น) - Boat noodles are probably one of the most locally popular Thai street food noodle of choice in Bangkok. We went to a place that’s a little far out, but it was pretty good. There are also many places to eat boat noodles within Bangkok.

Kuay teow reua nam tok moo (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือน้ำตกหมู)
แคปหมู
Price - 10 THB ($0.29) per bowl

4. Uan Bamee Giew Guangdong (อ้วน บะหมี่เกี๊ยว (กวางตุ้ง) - For years now, this has been one of my personal favorite Thai street food stalls in Bangkok for Thai Chinese egg noodles.

Bamee giew moo daeng haeng (บะหมี่เกี๊ยวหมูแดงแห้ง)
Price - 40 THB ($1.15) per bowl

5. Pad Thai Je Tim (ผัดไทยเจ๊ติ๋ม) - To be honest, we sort of just ran out of time, and needed to take the baby home to sleep, so we weren’t able to eat a better version of Pad Thai. This place was pretty average, but it finished off our 5 Thai noodles tour of Bangkok. For a better Pad Thai, I'd recommend:

Pad Thai goong sod (ผัดไทยกุ้งสด)
Pad Thai haw kai (ผัดไทยห่อไข่)
Total price - 95 THB ($2.73)

Thank you for watching, hope you enjoyed this Thai street food noodles tour of Bangkok!

So Much Better Than Mall Food! ???????? My All Time FAVOURITE Thai Noodles in BANGKOK

Learn Thai with the method that I personally use at where you'll get 5 free lessons to see how great it is before you sign up. Use the code ROAM at the checkout to get 15% Off ANY COURSE.

Today I'm heading to one of the most popular tourist attractions in Bangkok at the moment, the world famous Icon Siam Shopping Mall. We won't be eating in the highly hyped (by me in the past) Icon Siam food court, however, as in my opinion, it's now far too busy.

We'll be heading out into the local Khlong San area to try some local Thai food at a couple of some of my favourite old school restaurants.

First up we're heading to a top 5 (in my opinion) beef noodles soup named
Talat Phlu Ocha Beef Noodles (ตลาดพลูโอชา)

Directions:

Next up we're heading to the friendliest auntie ever who sells the best guay jub I've ever eaten called Jae Ju Kway Chap ก๋วยจั๊บเจ๊จู:

THIS IS REAL BANGKOK STREET FOOD!

#bangkokmarket #thailand2024 #thaifood

About the area:

Khlong San is a district located on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, Thailand. It is one of the 50 districts (khet) of Bangkok and is known for its diverse mix of residential, commercial, and cultural attractions. Here are some key aspects of Khlong San:

Location: Khlong San is situated along the Chao Phraya River, adjacent to the bustling commercial districts of Silom and Sathorn. Its proximity to the riverfront offers scenic views and opportunities for recreational activities along the water.

IconSiam: As mentioned earlier, one of the notable landmarks in Khlong San is ICONSIAM, a large mixed-use development that includes a luxury shopping mall, residential towers, hotels, and cultural attractions. ICONSIAM has become a major tourist destination and has contributed significantly to the district's economic growth and popularity.

Residential Areas: Khlong San is home to a mix of residential properties, including high-rise condominiums, apartment buildings, and traditional Thai houses. The district offers a range of housing options for residents, from affordable accommodations to upscale waterfront properties.

Commercial Centers: In addition to ICONSIAM, Khlong San features various commercial centers, markets, and shopping areas catering to both locals and tourists. These include traditional markets like Khlong San Market as well as modern retail complexes offering a wide array of products and services.

Transportation Hub: Khlong San serves as an important transportation hub in Bangkok, with several major roads and highways passing through the district. It is also well-connected to other parts of the city via public transit, including the BTS Skytrain and water taxis along the Chao Phraya River.

Cultural Attractions: While Khlong San is primarily known for its modern developments, it also has some cultural attractions worth exploring. These include temples such as Wat Thong Noppakhun and Wat Thong Khung, which offer insights into Thailand's rich cultural heritage.

Overall, Khlong San is a vibrant and dynamic district in Bangkok, offering a mix of modern amenities, cultural landmarks, and scenic riverfront views. It continues to attract residents, businesses, and visitors alike, contributing to the city's diverse and dynamic urban fabric.

Chef Gigg ( is both the Iron Chef and Top Chef Champion of Thailand - and when you see his unbelievable cooking skills, and the speed at which he can cook, you will know why. It’s so much fun to watch him as he handles the wok, controls the fire, and know precisely how to cook Thai Chinese food over a raging hot fire, quickly, and effectively.

Lerd Thip (Wanghin) ร้านเลิศทิพย์ สาขาวังหิน - Along with my friends Khun Tan ( and Khun Tape ( we went to Lerd Thip (Wanghin) ร้านเลิศทิพย์ สาขาวังหิน restaurant in Bangkok to eat Thai Chinese seafood, which is Chef Gigg’s family restaurant.

Here are the main dishes he cooked:

Curry crab (ปูผัดผงกะหรี่)
Braised duck (เป็ดพะโล้)
Red curry spaghetti (สปาเกตตี้ฉูฉี่กุ้งแม่น้ำย่าง)
Sour curry crab (แกงส้มปูไข่หน่อไม้)

Basil fried rice, wagyu steak (ข้าวกระเพราเนื้อวากิว)
Pearl of the Andaman (ไข่มุกอันดามัน)
Crab noodles (ปูอบวุ้นเส้น)
Lime pork (หมูมะนาว)
Steamed crab (ปูนึ่ง)

It turned out to be quite a crab night of Thai food, Chef Gigg kept on making the selection of giant mud crabs that he had fresh in stock. First he made a crab curry, known in Thai as boo pad pongari (ปูผัดผงกะหรี่).

In addition to Thai Chinese seafood, Chef Gigg also includes a few Western influenced Thai dishes on his menu, like red curry spaghetti with river prawn and basil fried rice with wagyu beef steak. I’m not typically huge on Thai fusion food, but these are both incredible dishes. The basil fried rice is not a cheap dish (price - 1,500 THB), but it is uncontrollable good - like comfort food on top of comfort food.

Huge thank you to Chef Gigg for hosting us and for an amazing Thai Chinese seafood meal with lots of crab!

Thai Street Food Michelin Star - GIANT CRAB OMELET at Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ) in Bangkok, Thailand!

►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week:
►T-shirts available now:

Congratulations to Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ) who recently was awarded a Michelin Star!

Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ) is no doubt one of the most legendary Thai street food restaurants in Bangkok - some people are loyal fans, others say that it’s overpriced. It’s a Thai restaurants in Bangkok that I had been wanting to eat at for a long time, but never got around to it - partly because it is so expensive. So finally one day for lunch, Ying and I drove over to central Bangkok to try Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ) for the first time.

But really quickly, about the name....

In Thai, Jay (เจ๊) means a Chinese Aunty and Fai (ไฝ) means a mole, yes a mole. What I can tell you first about the restaurant is that the owner is absolutely awesome. She wears ski goggles and a snow cap while she’s cooking, and she cooks over huge fire charcoal, fanning the flame as she expertly cooks. She’s also quite a character, and she loves to chat - so while I was filming she shared all about herself, and how her method of cooking her legendary Thai crab omelet ensures that it doesn’t soak up very much oil. It’s indeed the most amazing omelet you might ever see in your life.

Crab omelet (ไข่เจียวปู) - You can either order the 800 THB or the 1000 THB crab omelet, I went with the 1000 THB. It’s huge, but only uses 2 eggs, but it’s packed with shell less crab nuggets. The omelet is cooked burrito style, and it’s massive. It’s a must order when you eat at Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ).

Drunken noodles (เส้นใหญ่ผัดขี้เมาทะเล) - Her version of Thai drunken noodles (pad kee mao sen ya) is the dish I would come back for over and over again. Again, it’s not cheap, but the quality of seafood and the seasoning that she uses is superb. The balance of flavor will blow your mind - it’s really the best plate of Thai drunken noodles I’ve had in Bangkok.

Tom yum goong (ต้มยำกุ้ง) - For our final dish we tried Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ) tom yum goong. Again, massive prawns and seafood were used, and she cooked it over charcoal. It was awesomely delicious, sour, and flavorful.

Conclusion:
Eating at Thai street food restaurants like this can be all about expectations. You have to go in knowing the prices are very high and you’re going to spend way more money than going to any other corner Thai street food restaurant. That being said, it’s a one-of-a-kind historical culinary legend of a restaurant in Bangkok. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience eat at Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ), and it was an honor to stand there and talk with Jay Fai (ร้านเจ๊ไฝ), and then eat her cooking.

Total price - 2,370 THB ($72.32)

Yam mama (ยำมาม่า) - 50 THB ($1.52) - This is the first dish I tried. MAMA are Thai instant noodles and this is a completely different way to eat them - in mixed salad form.

Khanom krok (ขนมครก) - 30 THB ($0.92) - Coconut griddle cakes are one of my favorites, they are crunchy on the outside and gooey in the center. Don’t miss this Thai street food snack.

Cha yen (ชาเย็น) - 25 THB ($0.76) per cup - Thai tea

Pad thai (ผัดไทย), Hoy tod (หอยทอด) - This was formerly a street food cart that now has their own permanent shophouse location. They make pretty decent Pad Thai and they hoy tod, which in this case in a mussels omelet, is pretty good as well.
Total price - 125 THB ($3.81)

Nam prik pla too (น้ำพริกปลาทู) - For something a little healthier, I’m a huge fan of nam pirk pla too, a pounded chili mackerel sauce that’s eaten with vegetables.
Total price - 70 THB ($2.14) for everything

Chao guay (เฉาก๋วย) - 25 THB ($0.76) - For dessert, I had grass jelly with ice. The owner was so friendly and happy.

Haircut - 100 THB ($3.05)

Pad kra prao moo krob kai dao (ผัดกระเพราหมูกรอบไข่ดาว) - Final meal of this Bangkok street food tour, I headed across the street to Petchaburi Soi 10 to seek out one of my old time favorites. The stall was still there, and they make a pretty good plate of Thai crispy pork belly fried with basil.
Price - 40 THB ($1.22)

Thank you for joining me on this Thai street food tour of Petchaburi Soi 5 (เพชรบุรี ซอย 5). It’s the type of street you can walk through and just choose whatever you like to eat.

Thai Food - 1.5 YEARS WAITING LIST! (Hardest Reservations in Thailand)

????Ultimate Bangkok Late-Night Street Food:
????Follow P’Tan ( and P’Tape (

????Banana Chips available now!!
????T-shirts:

Ruen Jarung (เรือนจรุง) also known as the Ayutthaya Real Chillin' House, is the hardest to book restaurant in Thailand, and has one of the longest waiting lists of any restaurants. Last year when they opened up bookings, they sold out for an entire year in 8 seconds. I had heard a lot about it, and I wasn’t just interested in trying the food, but seeing the location and atmosphere and finding out just why Ruen Jarung (เรือนจรุง) is in such high demand for Thais. #ThaiFood #Thailand #Food

Thanks to my friend P’Tan ( for inviting me to eat at Ruen Jarung (เรือนจรุง) for lunch one day, and since P’Tan had eaten there a few times, he chose a menu of only his favorite Thai food dishes that they serve - only the best dishes.

Ruen Jarung (เรือนจรุง) serves home-style Thai food, dishes people remember from childhood. Most of the dishes are pretty common, but some are more creative, and presented on big communal plates and platters so they really stand out. I found most of the Thai dishes to be delicious, well flavored and very comforting. Not many of the dishes were really stand out, but they were all just solidly good. Another reason I think so many people love Ruen Jarung (เรือนจรุง) for the atmosphere, communal food, and having a chance to spend time with friends and family. Also, it’s the type of restaurant that brings back great memories.

Here are all the Thai dishes we ordered, that I had a chance to try:

Shrimp paste chili dip (น้ำพริกกะปิ)
Stink beans with shrimp (กุ้งผัดสะตอ)
Sour curry bamboo shoots (แกงส้มหน่อไม้)
Winged bean salad (ยำถั่วพลู)
Roasted river shrimp (กุ้งเผา)
Dried fried pork (หมูแดดเดียว)
Dried fried beef (เนื้อแดดเดียว)
Beef soup (ต้มแซ่บเนื้อ)
Fried squid (หมึกทอด)
Bengal currant dessert (มะม่วงหาวมะนาวโห่)
Snail curry, climbing wattle (แกงคั่วหอยขม)
Fried pork belly (หมูกรอบ)
Congee (ข้าวต้มเรือโป๊ะ)

There were actually even a few more dishes, that I didn’t even have a chance to try, we had 26 different dishes.

Overall, I thought the food was fantastic, especially since P’Tan chose the best of the Thai dishes that they make. The atmosphere was great, but really the best part of eating at Ruen Jarung (เรือนจรุง) was hanging out with friends.

Total price came to about 2,000 Thai Baht ($65.17) per person

Thank you again to P’Tan ( for the invitation.

???????? BEST THAI RESTAURANT in BANGKOK for 11 years

Art Thomya, a singer/songwriter, will take you through the journey of BAAN KHANITHA, an internationally-acclaimed Thai Restaurant who grows their own organic vegetables to cook for their customers.

Thai Food is famous worldwide and of course, the best place to try Thai food is Thailand. There are so many good Thai restaurants here, but how many of them grow their own vegetables to cook for their dishes. This restaurant is that special one - BAAN KHANITHA. It has been awarded Bangkok's Best Thai Restaurant by Bangkok Dining & Entertainment Magazine for 11 consecutive years.

- The Beginning of Thai Restaurant Legend -
I am very familiar with this restaurant as I've been their customer for almost 20 years. Not only their food is authentic Thai and their places are beautifully decorated in Thai style, but most of the ingredients are grown in their own organic farms. This is why each dish is clean, safe, and healthy.

- Thai Restaurants Who Grow Their Own Organic Vegetables -
Baan Panalai is an organic farm located in Khao Yai, Nakhon Ratchasima province, 3 hour-drive north of Bangkok. This is where the organic ingredients of Baan Khanitha are grown with the best care.

- Cruise along the River of Kings -
This evening is special because I'm going to cruise along the main river of Bangkok, the Chao Phraya river and enjoy authentic Thai dinner at the same time. We started and ended this cruise journey at Baan Khanitha by The River, AsiaTique. Let's have this fantastic cruise experience together.

- Get Healthy with Organic Dishes and Appreciate Arts -
Another restaurant in Baan Khanitha Group is Moon Glass. This one serves many green dishes made from organic ingredients from Baan Panalai. I would recommend all salad dishes. These organic vegetables are so fresh and clean. They taste very good too.

For Baan Khanitha & Gallery on Sathorn Road, it is not only a restaurant with Thai Style decoration, but also a gallery with impressive Art Collections from several Thai artists.

If you are ready, let's explore this wonderful food journey together.
