South Australia - See It To Believe It

Learn more:

This summer, sun-soaked days and balmy nights beckon from South Australia. Pull up a seat at a bar on the beach and sip cocktails without taking your toes out the sand. Settle in among rolling vineyards for happy hour in a giant Rubik's cube, then go winery hopping in a helicopter as you soar sky-high above sea and vines just minutes from Adelaide. Cast off in a kayak and float along turquoise waters, exploring ocean grottos, sea side caves and secluded coves. Afterwards, kick on at a month-long party in the heart of the city then lose yourself down a labyrinth of laneways lined with bars and speakeasys. All in a weekend. All in Adelaide. South Australia. You have to see it to believe it.

We Fell In Love With South Australia | One Week Road Trip

We had already visited every state in Australia except for South Aus; so we thought it was about time to pack our bags and experience what this state had to offer. We spent a week on the road visiting the Fleurieu Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula & Flinders Ranges. We were unexpectedly blown away with the raw beauty of this coast line, which I'm sure you will be too after watching this.

Thanks to Jetstar Australia for partnering with us on our trip!

We have settled back into life on the road and couldn’t be happier. We spend a few days exploring South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula and camp in the National Park and at Rapid Bay, one of our favourite spots yet. We also get the van onto the beach for the first time!

Please let us know what you thought of this one!

Why we LOVE South West Australia - Busselton & Margaret River Ep.72

We trekked down to Busselton and settled ourselves into a van park for 2 nights. Our good mates Blaine & Shenaid from Camper Australis had made some last minute plans to come join us for the weekend. We explored the surrounds, visited some breweries, checked out some markets and fished off the iconic Busselton jetty.

After visiting Dunsborough and the surrounds, we really loved the atmosphere here. This has been the first place on our trip, we have both said we could live here. Eagle bay and Garnet Rocks took our breath away and are up there with some of our favourite beaches! Amz couldn’t resisit not visiting Simmo’s ice-creamery. She was in heaven trying to choose a flavour from their 40+ flavour range.

We are starting to get a taste of this south west, and understanding why people rave about it. Its still early days, but so far we are loving our time down here and can’t wait to see more. Next stop Margaret River through to Pemberton and surrounds.
Margaret River & surrounds
After leaving Busselton, we headed south into the Margaret River region. Setting ourselves up at ‘The Olive Farm’, a low cost campsite. You need to be self contained and all sites are unpowered at $15 a night (for 2 people). We found this a great spot to base ourselves while exploring all the surrounds.

For our first day we headed to Gracetown for a swim. The local beach had a pontoon anchored out in the water, so swam out did some flips between our sun baking. Working up quite the appetite and thirst, that we stopped by at the Cheeky Monkey for lunch. We then had a leisurely stroll through the town of Cowaramup which is only a small town, but covered in dairy cow sculptures. Rusty was a little unsure as we walked by them.

Prevelly was a nice sleepy town. Kurt had a fish at the River mouth and from the rocks just south of Gnarabup beach. We had a coffee at the White Elephant Cafe, which overlooked Gnarabup beach and boat ramp. It was quite a busy little spot with plenty of people coming and going, and this was midweek. While in Prevelly we also found a cool little cave. A good old ‘Wikicamps’ special, told us where to park and where the track was to reach it.

On another day, we also visited Yallingup to see all the sights around the area. We checked out Rabbits beach, Torpedo rock, spotted dolphins at Smiths beach and walked a little bit of the cape to cape track. The Injidup Natural spa was definitely amazing to see. A natural spa from the waves of the ocean, crushing over rocks which trickle down like a waterfall, giving a natural spa feel. Be sure to visit on high tide so you can see the full ‘spa effect’. c

A total of nine nights we spent at the Olive Farm, as it was so nice and relaxing. Each site had be designed so that you wouldn’t directly see your neighbours. It had a beautiful walk down to the river, through the forest with signs identifying each tree species. Just down the road was the Colonial Brewing Company, which does $10 pizzas every Friday night. We can confirm both pizzas and beers were delicious.

Overall we ate well, saw the sights, got a real feel for the area and had a lovely time in Margaret River and surrounds.

Next stop Augusta!

Rail Journeys of Australia - Why we love them

Let your journey be your inspiration on an iconic rail journey through Australia's unique countryside.

Why we LOVE the MURRAY RIVER, South Australia - short story -

The latest horrifying news about the fish dying in they're thousands on the Darling River believed to be caused by human error through shit water management and seeing the destruction over the internet of dead native fish in their thousands including the iconic and endangered Murray Cod was a hard pill to swallow and actually brought a tear to the eye.

The Murray River has been a huge part of my childhood and many great memories have been made there. The family and I have a huge love as well as respect for this beautiful river including the diverse native wildlife that calls it home.
So to see the River struggling so BAD it absolutely breaks the heart, luckily in December 2017 I went to my Uncles shack with my brother and his family at a place called BIG BEND to relax and capture some footage ( but not working too hard ) of this stunning river.

I also thought that considering recent events it might not hurt to put out a positive video showing why this magical place The Murray River is so important to us South Australians.

Please ENJOY and lets look after OUR MURRAY RIVER.

Sam Robert's Interview (Why I love Commercial Photography) South Australia & Adelaide

Alfonso Interviews Sam Roberts who works with Adelaide Photography Tours. Sam explains why he loves these images and how photography has been his passion for over 20 years.

EXPLORING HIDDEN GEMS IN THE FLINDERS RANGES

We pick up from our last episode and in this episode we explore hidden gems in the flinders ranges, South Australia.

Last episode we left the beautiful beaches of South Australia and we absolutely love South Australia's coast line but with some average weather we decided to head to one of our favourite areas in Australia and that's the flinders ranges.

We did a bit of research and we haven't been to Mt Little Station so we decided to call up and see if there were any sites available. We hit a luck as it was coming up to easter weekend and we managed to get a site for 4 days.

We didn't realise Mt little Station has quite a bit to offer and we share with you in this episode some of there best offerings and hidden gems.

We hope you enjoyed this episode and if you haven't yet put this on your list to visit, we hope we showed you how good this station stay is. Next episode we will share with a few more so if you haven't yet subscribed to our channel, hit the subscribe button so you don't miss out on future episodes that may interest you in areas we go to.

Thank you so much for your support and we really thankful for it.
