Solo In Mexico's Most Dangerous Barrio ????????

???????? Ask any resident of Mexico City where they would avoid visiting and the answer always come back: Tepito. A barrio of counterfeit markets and dark alleyways where the hoodlums run the streets, the Barrio Bravo ( Ferocious neighbourhood ) is a place I was told not to go to if I valued my life and possessions. But could it really be that bad? There was only one way to find out. I had to go and investigate.

TEPITO, MEXICO CITY - Mexico City is full of variety, full of amazing architecture and beautiful areas such as Condesa, Roma, Coyoacan and more. Mexico City is safe and full of amazing people (trust me, I've been gere a long tim).

However there's a side to Mexico City that people don't talk about, even some Mexico City residents will not venture there. This is Tepito.

Tepito is widely considered to be one of Mexico City's most dangerous areas with a reputation for crime, drug dealing, the weapons trade, violence and the sale of counterfeit goods. It's an area that feels worlds away from the rest of CDMX.

As a foreigner from the UK, I wanted to visit. I've lived in Doctores and been to Ecatapec. I'm from London so I am no stranger to drugs, violence and watching my back (yes, London is dangerous!).

DISCLAIMER - I do not for one second recommend that as a tourist ,you risk your safety by visiting Tepito, it's your choice. It's very rare that I would suggest not to go somewhere, but this is possibly one occasion.

TIPS -
- Do not go alone
- Have some grasp of Spanish
- No photos or video of vendors or products without permission
- No jewellery
- No money
- No bags
- No valuable equipment
- Do not go at night

I am happy to risk my safety to bring you these videos - I hope you understand that. I will not entertain abusive comments as it was my decision to go there and risk my safety.

Inside Mexico's Most Dangerous Hood ????????

The western media makes Mexico seem like a dangerous place, cartels running around freely and the people living in constant fear. Well I don't know what their motives are but they are far from the truth. Today I'm taking you to Tepito, el barrio bravo of Mexico City. If you ask most locals in Mexico City they will beg you to not visit Tepito. They say you will get shot, robbed, or kidnapped. Sounds very dramatic if you ask me. I decided to go in Tepito, Mexico's most dangerous hood to see what it's really like. Join me as we walk through Tepito and meet the local residents living there.

Solo in Guatemala's Most Violent Cartel Hood! (Zone-18)????????

Guatemala City is divided into different zones. The biggest and most violent is Zone 18. It is fully controlled by gang members (Mara 18) and every local I asked warned me not to visit this place at all. Not even its small central market.
I fully respect their advice which is for my own good, but I am very curious to see with my own eyes what this Hood Cartel looks like and most importantly what the locals there have to say about the most dangerous place in Guatemala City.

Let's see.....

JUAREZ MEXICO MOST DANGEROUS HOODS AT NIGHT

Juarez, Mexico Most Dangerous Streets

Lost in Mexico’s most dangerous hood - Tepito ????????

While spending time in Mexico City, I venture into the dangerous markets of Tepito, infamously known as El Barrio Bravo.

Tepito has been considered a lower class neighborhood since pre-hispanic times, so before the spaniards ever set foot in the Americas!

The people of Tepito were warm and helpful. Got to purchase a bunch of goods from the market and later ended up serenaded by a mariachi band in Plaza Garibaldi. A great day indeed.

This short Sample of Tijuana Poverty. In certain parts of the city the living conditions are brutal. A large the cities population live without running water or electricity.

I was definitely limited on the footage i could get. But some of these slum type communities Extend for miles and miles as far as you can see.

???? Braving Mexico City's MOST DANGEROUS NEIGHBORHOOD ???????? Tepito & visiting LA SANTA MUERTE ????

Whether you want to go to Tepito is entirely up to you, but if you go just know yourself well enough to be able to decide if you're up to it. Despite being known as a barrio bravo or rough neighborhood, I had an amazing time in Tepito and one that I won't soon forget. It's known as Mexico City's most dangerous neighborhood but I had the fortune and pleasure of meeting Doña Queta the beautiful woman who cares for the alter of La Santa Muerte in Tepito. I also got a beard trim from a local barber who thought tourists visiting Mexico City should come and check out Tepito while they're here and by doing so it might help Tepito lose some of it's bad reputation.
Tepito is commonly known as Mexico City's most dangerous neighborhood and while some darker elements do lurk about, on the whole I found it to be a vibrant working class neighborhood filled with honest and hard working people.

MOST DANGEROUS BARRIO IN MEXCIO CITY|| TEPITO

I didn’t do my due diligence before going to this market. I walked through the morning before and felt no danger. It felt like any other market. Maybe that was because I am from a third world country, and live in the inner cities of America. Thankfully I didn’t find myself in any threatening situations.
I walk through Mexico Cities Tepito market. Barrio Bravo (Furious neighborhood) searching for slippers, or as they’re better know in Mexico ‘chanclas.’

IS TEPITO REALLY THAT DANGEROUS? WALKING IN BARRIO BRAVO, MEXICO CITY 2022 ????????

TEPITO or BARRIO BRAVO, MEXICO CITY 2022
By visiting presumably the most dangerous neighborhood in Mexico City, I wanted to understand for myself if it is really dangerous or not? So many people go there and say it is totally okay, but still put this label of visiting the most dangerous neighborhood. But a lot of people advise against going there. Where is the truth? I think everyone has their own idea about this place. In this video I'm sharing my idea and what I understood about it.

Also, this video was a part of a Casey Neistat Film School class from Monthly as a first spontaneous video assignment. I'll be happy to hear your feedback.

Here you can find videos where I share about attending Casey Neistat classes:
