Top Things Must See and Do in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks | TRAVEL GUIDE

In this video, we are going to share with you a Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks Travel plan that would be perfect for a 1-day visit to these two parks. These recommendations are based on our frequent visits to these parks.

We live just an hour from Sequoia National Park, we have hiked tons of trails in here, but for today's video, we are only sharing the easy, short, and accessible things you can do in both Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park if you only have a day or two to spend in the park.

Here are some reminders before you visit Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.
1.) Entrance Fee is $35 for private vehicles, $20 if by foot, or on a bike.
This ticket is valid for 7 days in both Sequoia and Kings. Men and women from the armed forces of the United States are free.
2.) No Gasoline in the park. Make sure you have enough gas to navigate the whole park. On Summer days, gas is available in Hume Lake and Stony Creek.
3.) No phone signals and wifi. Make sure you download your itinerary or screenshot the list of places you wish to go to in the park. Maps and additional information are also available at the entrance gate and visitor's centers.
4.) Due to Covid-19, make sure you bring extra masks, in case they require you to wear one in certain areas.
5.) Road closures can happen. Due to changing weather, make sure to check recent road updates before going.
6.) Bring snacks and lots of water. The temperature in the park changes a lot, keep yourself hydrated when strolling or hiking.
7.) Shuttle Buses are available and free in the Sequoia National Park.
8.) Start your visit as early as you can. Not only to avoid the crowd at the entrance gate but to also enjoy the beauty of this park during Sunrise.
9.) Do not feed the wild animals, and keep your distance when you see one.

P.S. During our hike last weekend, they were not requiring a mask on the trail. But that probably changed due to the recent changes in Covid-19 protocols.

Yosemite National Park Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia

Yosemite – an American story unlike any other. Follow us through the national park from its high country to its waterfalls, its towering sequoia groves to its valley meadows.

When ready, browse vacation packages to Yosemite National Park:

#YosemiteNationalPark sits on the western slopes of California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains. Most visitors spend their #vacation in Yosemite Valley, which despite being only 7 miles long and 1 mile wide, packs in more jaw-dropping scenery than just about any other place on Earth.

#Visit Tunnel View and stand before a panorama that’s reduced generations of visitors to silence. The Yosemite Valley ring road follows the banks of the Merced River, which shifts in character as it thunders from the valley walls, before gently winding across the valley floor. The ring road is dotted with trailheads that lead to 800 miles of hiking trails.

Drive along Tioga Road, one of the USA’s most scenic highways. Fill your lungs with alpine air at Olmsted Point, refresh yourself by the waters of Tenaya Lake, then spend the day at Tuolumne Meadow, the traditional summer hunting grounds of the Ahwaneechee.

For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

The ULTIMATE Sequoia National Park Travel Guide

Welcome to the 2024 Sequoia National Park Ultimate Travel Guide. In this video, I discuss how to get to the park, how to get around, where to stay (lodging and camping), where to eat, where to get coffee (at home!), and importantly, the attractions of the Park.

Visiting Sequoia National Park will make your neck hurt! These trees are huge and you will be looking UP, a lot! Highlighting any visit to Sequoia is the Giant Forest to see the largest (by volume) tree in the world, General Sherman. The size of these trees is overwhelming and awe-inspiring. But even though the Park is about the trees (it is named after a tree, for goodness sake), a visit is more than just forests and wood. Don't forget about Moro Rock for wonderful views of the area, Crystal Cave (you do need reservations!) and the tallest mountain in the lower 48 states, Mt. Whitney.

Please SUBSCRIBE to the Channel if you liked the video. Thanks!

Sequoia National Park is renowned worldwide for its majestic sequoia trees, which are the largest living organisms on Earth. The park is home to the General Sherman Tree, the largest tree by volume, standing at an awe-inspiring 275 feet tall. Walking among these ancient giants is an experience that leaves visitors in awe of nature's grandeur.

Beyond the iconic sequoias, the park boasts breathtaking mountain landscapes that captivate visitors at every turn. Towering granite peaks, deep canyons, and cascading waterfalls create a scenic backdrop that's perfect for hiking, photography, and simply immersing oneself in the beauty of the natural world.

The park offers an extensive network of trails, catering to hikers of all skill levels. Whether you're seeking a leisurely stroll through a grove of sequoias or a challenging ascent to a mountain summit, there's a trail for everyone. The Lakes Trail, for example, showcases stunning alpine lakes, while the Mount Whitney Trail presents a thrilling opportunity to summit the highest peak in the contiguous United States.

Sequoia National Park also provides a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. The park is home to diverse animal species, including black bears, mule deer, mountain lions, and coyotes. Birdwatchers will be delighted to spot the rare and endangered California condor soaring through the skies. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, offering a chance to witness these remarkable creatures in their natural habitat.

Additionally, the park offers a range of outdoor activities beyond hiking. Camping is a popular option, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the park's serene ambiance. Fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, and snowshoeing (during the winter months) are among the many other activities available to visitors.

Sequoia National Park also boasts fascinating geological features. Crystal Cave, a subterranean wonder, showcases stunning rock formations and offers guided tours to educate visitors about the park's geology. Moro Rock, a granite dome, provides panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

Practical amenities, including visitor centers, campgrounds, and dining options, make exploring the park convenient and accessible. However, it's important to note that services may be limited in remote areas, so visitors should come prepared with their own supplies.

Travel California-Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks

The Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks is the consolidated management structure for Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park in California, USA. The two parks have been jointly administered since 1943. They have a combined size of 1,353 square miles (3,500 km2). It was designated the UNESCO Sequoia-Kings Canyon Biosphere Reserve in 1976.

Sequoia National Park is an American national park in the southern Sierra Nevada east of Visalia, California. The park was established on September 25, 1890 to protect 404,064 acres (631 sq mi; 163,519 ha; 1,635 km2) of forested mountainous terrain. The park is notable for its giant sequoia trees, including the General Sherman tree, the largest tree on Earth by volume. The General Sherman tree grows in the Giant Forest, which contains five of the ten largest trees in the world. The Giant Forest is connected by the Generals Highway to Kings Canyon National Park's General Grant Grove, home of the General Grant tree among other giant sequoias. The park's giant sequoia forests are part of 202,430 acres (316 sq mi; 81,921 ha; 819 km2) of old-growth forests shared by Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The parks preserve a landscape that still resembles the southern Sierra Nevada before Euro-American settlement.
