At DGTL, we make our visitors, artists and suppliers aware of the impact of their travels and give them better opportunities, Julia van Boven says. In the third episode of 'Road To Circularity', we talk about mobility together with Jef de Vries, program manager at SkyNRG.As preventing is always better than compensating, we try to encourage artists and visitors to travel zero emission. However, this is not always possible. For this, we will have a world premiere in 2022 through a collaboration with SkyNRG by replacing all fossil fuel for the artists’ flights with Sustainable Aviation Fuel.

A hundred percent plant-based and waste-less food court, less than 100 grams waste per visitor, from pee to tea installations (yes, really), and flying in artists with sustainable aviation fuel: we've become the world’s first circular festival. We don’t have to tell you why that is important. But we do want to show you why it is more sustainable to dance with us during DGTL rather than staying home.Join us on this journey and learn about the steps we took to become the first circular festival and the importance and of green festivals for the future. The food we consume each day causes damage to the environment, and meat accounts for nearly 60% of all greenhouse gasses from food production. That is why we decided to go completely vegetarian in 2016. Through a new partnership with Beyond Meat, we can offer the same experience to visitors, but without the negative impact. Besides the fact that the dishes are vegetarian, they are also organic and locally sourced as much as possible. This year, our menu will be completely vegan, thus preventing even more CO2 emissions.
