If you are planning to travel to US Virgin Islands, or specifically travel to St. Thomas, and you want to know about the things to do in St. Thomas, and what are travel requirements now, then this video is for you!
Today we are heading to St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. US citizens don’t need visa or passport, driver license or state ID is good enough. The flight is 3.5 hours from New York, NY or Newark, NJ. The requirements to enter St. Thomas: 1) Covid test 5 days before departure 2) submit form online on travel portal and receive “green code”. No vaccine required. Coming back to US mainland, no test required.

ACCOMODATION: There are not too many hotels in St. Thomas, there are mostly guest houses, Airbnb type apartments, and very expensive resorts and villas. For budget or middle class travel, it is challenging to find good accommodation. Best way to rent a room in a guest house ($100-200/night) or Airbnb apartment ($200-300/night). There are a lot of high end resorts and villas starting $500/night and up.
TRANSPORTATION: We took a taxi from the airport to our guesthouse in downtown of St. Thomas – Charlotte Amalie. The price of taxi depends on the distance to the location and the number of people traveling. The price ranges 8-12$ per person on average. So if it is 4 of you, be ready to spend about $40 one way. The same prices apply to traveling to the beach, restaurants, etc.
FOOD: see other videos for restaurant recommendations. The food on St. Thomas is expensive and quality is mediocre and you would expect more for the price. The food in the restaurants is ranging from poor to pretty good.
BEACH: St. Thomas has the most gorgeous beached. Highly recommend to visit Magens Bay Beach (entrance charge - $5 per person) and Coki Beach (free entrance).
PLACES TO VISIT: While in downtown Charlotte Amalie, go up 99 steps and see the gorgeous view from top overlooking the port and beautiful sea view. Visit Blackbeard’s Castle and Fort Christian (if they are open during your trip).

Do Not Pay For Excursion in St Thomas. Solo Travel is a great way to see the island without paying high prices and getting stuck on someone else's schedule. Solo Travel gives you the freedom to Get off the Ship and Start Walking! Never be scared, just go and you can always find a bus or taxi back! St. Thomas is small but there is plenty to do in 8 hours at port! Plenty of cheap taxis and buses. There is no need to book anything beforehand and traveling solo allows you to do more for less! I have been divorced twice, lived in an RV, almost declared bankruptcy, had 30K in credit card debt, sold everything I own, screwed up a lot, and fixed a lot. I have made really good money and lived broke at times. I have experienced so many ups and downs and I am ready for whatever is next.

???????? What to do in Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas Cruise Port! - Crown Bay Cruise Port Review
Cruising is back and we are in Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas on the Celebrity Edge. We're going to give you a tour of what you’ll experience here when you walk around the port. This can help you to understand if you should pick an excursion or not. Stay tuned to find out what we thought and how you can prepare for your day in Charlotte Amalie.
For arrivals and departures at Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas cruise port it is nice there is a dock and no tendering needed. The dock is not long at all and the shore excursions pick up is right at the end. If you are looking to take a taxi you walk through the port shopping area and there is a taxi pick up on the other side. It only takes a few minutes to walk through the shopping area. In terms of masks you are supposed to wear them when inside and outside at the port.
In terms of port atmosphere there is a shopping area at the Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas port. The shopping area has all the typical shops and essentials you see in a port. There are a lot of souvenir shops that are all locally owned and a camera store with crucial items you may have forgotten ashore. There are a couple bars and restaurants you can stop to have a drink, enjoy the views and take a mask break. Also if you have forgotten anything there is a small pharmacy as well. The port was not very busy as most people getting off the ship did excursions and there were some others like us who walked around the port or took local transportation. There is a lot of shade which is nice if you are waiting for people in the shops or have done a bit of shopping and are waiting for your excursion. There are some renovations in the back so there will be even more shops and shade.
A question a lot of people ask is what things to do in Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas? We just wanted to mention a couple things that are close to the port to do. If you are vaccinated most cruise lines allow you to explore the port on your own. Be sure to check the rules for each port with your cruise line. With Celebrity we were able to explore on our own. We are focusing on what is right at the port but wanted to highlight a few options that aren't far away. There are some beautiful beaches you can head to including Coki Beach, Magens Bay, Sapphire Beach and Secret Harbour Beach. The oldest standing structure in the Virgin Islands is Fort Christian and from there you have gorgeous views of Charlotte Amalie Harbor. If you are looking for something on the more extreme side you might want to check out Tree Limin’ Xtreme Zipline. I have never done a zip line before but the views do look amazing. We know there are a lot more experiences to do. If you are choosing to go on your own, be sure to check it is open beforehand. Some companies in Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas have not opened yet or have adjusted hours.

The USVI, as it’s commonly known, is made up of 4 islands where St. Thomas is the most famous one and home to the capital Charlotte Amalie. We have been going there for the last 6 years, and we are not planning on stopping any time soon.

She Regretted This Port Day in St. Thomas, USVI : Magens Bay Beach & Paradise Point
Earlier this year, we visited St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, on a 7-day cruise aboard NCL Escape with four friends. We didn't have an excursion booked through NCL, but that didn't stop us from doing our own beach excursion. On this port day, we hopped on a taxi and went to Magens Bay Beach and Park. Magens Bay is a 20-minute taxi ride from Havensight Cruise Terminal in Charlotte Amalie, USVI. After the beach, we ended our cruise excursion with the Skyride to Paradise Point. We went there for the breathtaking views of the harbor and city of Charlotte Amalie. It all sounds good, but Brandy learned a valuable lesson on this port day in St. Thomas USVI.
