24 Hours in LJUBLJANA? I'll Show You WHAT NOT TO MISS!
In The Stopover series I’ll take you around the city and show you the best of what you can enjoy, visit and eat in a short stopover of 24 to 48 hours. We won’t see everything, but we’ll make the most our time at wherever in the world we are!
In the 4th episode we’ll discover Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
For this 24 hours in Ljubljana, we’ll see some of the sights but also explore some great places for food and locally made beer.
We’ll visit the main tourist sites for one day in that amazing city, such as the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation, Prešeren Square, the Triple Bridge, Ljubljana Town Square, the Robba fountain, Ljubljana town hall, Ljubljana Cathedral and the Central Market before stopping for lunch at Gostilna Sokol.
After lunch we’ll take the funicular up to Ljubljana Castle and walk down the other side of the castle hill to the Church of St. James and the river, before a quick break in Lajbah - Craft Beer Bar. We’ll take a chilled boat trip along the river, walk around a little more and go to the great Pop's place to try their famous (and really good!) burgers.
Oh, and then there’s the epic views from the Nebotičnik - Skyscraper. It’s better than from the castle, trust me!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. ????????????

Hello everyone! :)
We started our journey in Slovenia by visiting its beautiful little capital Ljubljana after a long bus trip from Linz, Austria. We decided to visit Slovenia without any previous knowledge and in fact only because we could not find any better deal for the weekend. For our surprise, Ljubljana and Slovenia are now ranking among the top destinations we have ever visit, truly a hidden gem in Europe!
This is the first video of the Slovenian series, which were recorded last year (2020) during the European summer, when the pandemic was fairly well controlled and halt in the very low numbers.

I've spent the last 24 hours roaming around the capital city of Ashgabat, and IT REMINDS ME EXACTLY OF PYONGYANG, NORTH KOREA in just about every way possible. Huge fancy buildings with very few people inside perfectly manicured gardens and boulevards with nobody on them and this eerie feeling that someone is watching over my shoulder 24/7. TURKMENISTAN IS WEIRD.
People had told me that Ashgabat was strange, but I had no idea to what extent it was until arriving here.... Find out everything you need to know about Turkmenistan's capital in this video!

Brazil was country #80/197????
We started our trip in São Paulo before heading down to Iguazu Falls and the Paraguay city of Ciudad Del Este. From there, we flew up to the original capital Salvador da Bahia and spent a few days on the local island Ilha Itaparica. We then finished the trip with a week in the fascinating world-famous city of Rio de Janeiro. All in all, our three weeks in Brazil were a blast and we can't wait to return!
