SURVIVING VANG VIENG | Tourist Heaven Or Hell?
Vang Vieng is a popular tourist stop in Laos, but many don't know that it has a pretty dark history with drugs and also the safety of its attractions. Even though things have certainly changed for the better compared to 20 years ago, it is still quite rough around the edges and safety is questionable at some of its top attractions. Having said that, I would still recommend people check it out because it does have a certain charm to it, the people living there are lovely and there is a lot to do. I would just personally be careful with things like paragliding, tubing and ziplining. Let me know in the comments what your experience with Vang Vieng has been like!
