????️ Journey to Mount Pitt: Our adventure continued as we embarked on a $30 private trip to Mount Pitt, the second highest peak on the island. Driving to the summit, we were rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views. The island's rugged coastline, lush landscapes and blue waters spread before us like a living postcard.
????️ Exploring Kingston UNESCO Site: Another $30 allowed us to embark on a second private trip, this time to Kingston, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Steeped in history, we explored the hauntingly beautiful ruins that whispered stories of Norfolk Island's past. The sight of the preserved convict buildings and the picturesque ruins captivated our imagination.
????️ Souvenirs & Local Delights: Back in town, we indulged in some retail therapy at the charming local shops, where we found unique souvenirs to remember our day.

My grandmother loved Norfolk Island and I have fond memories of a t-shirt she brought back for me which had a convict with a ball and chain that said I escaped Norfolk Island ;-). So we had to visit the island at some point and after a few years of not being able to travel, we decided that July 2022 was the time.
Norfolk Island or Burnt Pine as it is also known, is a small Australian island in the South Pacific Ocean, defined by enormous pine trees, jagged cliffs, beautiful beaches and interesting history which was also gruesome at times.
It is only a short flight from Brisbane and it does feel like you are stepping back in time. This video showcases the tourist aspect of our visit as we also did a few days fishing which we have uploaded as two separate videos that you can check out as well if you're a keen fisherman ;-)
If you haven't visited Norfolk Island - you should add it to your list and we suggest that two weeks is an ideal time period to immerse yourself in its lifestyle and you should get a few nice days out on the water as well. We stayed at Ocean Breeze Cottages and can happily recommend them with Cabins 9 - 12 offering lovely sea views towards Phillip Island ;-) Don't forget to wave to everyone while driving around the island and give way to the animals :-) #norfolk #fishing #oceanbreeze #burntpine #kingston #ptpitt

Exploring the best of Norfolk Island MUST VISIT National Park!
Join me from the remote Australian External Territory and South Pacific paradise of Norfolk Island as I showcase some of the island's best walking and hiking trails from the around the island's stunning Norfolk Island National Park which takes up 14% of the whole 34sq km landmass of the island! We begin today's journey a short few kilometres away from the centre of Burnt Pine adjacent to Norfolk Island Botanical Gardens before we venture up to the summit of Mount Pitt and Mount Bates to see some of the best vantage points of the whole island! Afterwards we continue deeper into the national park hiking out to the rugged and spectacular coastline of the island's north east where we will finish today's hike at the breathtaking Captain Cook Lookout!
