Welcome to paradise island! This is Mauritius, the green volcanic island off the coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean. We fly our drone over the famous Le Morne mountain, visit the seven colored earth and Chamarel waterfall and drive through the Black River Gorge. Of course we also see the best hotels and lay down on the perfect beaches. This video is the perfect guide for a family holiday to Mauritius!
In the previous episodes you saw how we made a road trip from Cape Town to Kruger Park in South-Africa. We drove the Cape Namibia Route along the West Coast to look for animals in the Kalahari Desert. After that we crossed the border into Namibia, where we drove straight through the world's highest sand dunes in the Sossusvlei. We saw all the sights in Namibia and wend on a safari in Etosha National Park. Lately we visited Botswana and Zimbabwe, to cross the border again back to South Africa. From Johannesburg we take you island hopping on Mauritius and also the French island of La Reunion.
Our journey through Africa is part of a one and a half year trip around the world. We can even continue to travel indefinitely. On New Year's Day we started in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the Canary Islands. Then you saw us in Oman, Cape Verde, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Tobago, Grenada, the Bahamas, the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Brazil, Qatar, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia, the Philippines, Zanzibar & Tanzania, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa, Mauritius is already destination number 26 on the big trip. We have also been away from home for one and a half year now. Follow us on this world tour, first in Mauritius and then to many more beautiful destinations across the globe! MAURITIUS - kiting, hiking surfing on this paradise island

I have spent a month on this beautiful island experiencing to the fullest life by the ocean. It is the paradise for oceans lovers and addicts. When the wind is blowing, starting around 11-12, AM you go kitesurfing or windsurfing. Either in the flat, waist deep lagoon or in the waves breaking on the reef. On calm days, you can do SUP in the lagoons or rivers, surf in the early morning in the waves or just enjoy snorkeling and swimming in warm wathers.
The nature is also extraordinary, there are many treks to do, mountain climbing, canyoning and swimming in beautiful waterfalls.
If this description talks to you, this is a must on your travel list.
I recommend
for all your more extreme trekkings.
Maps me works perfectly there, many hidden path will be found using the app.
You'll find many schools for kiting or windsurfing around the kite lagoon (next to Le morne moutain)
Best is to stay in the town of la gaulette or le morne village and rent a scooter or a car.
You'll find all the kite shops in the town of La Guaulette.
