MOROCCO ROAD TRIP - Rissani, Ouarzazate, & Aït Benhaddou (from Fez to Marrakesh)

Welcome to Morocco! In this video, we wrap up our unforgettable 4-day Sahara adventure. Our journey began in the city of Fez, leading us into the heart of the Sahara Desert. Over the course of 24 remarkable hours, we immersed ourselves in the nomadic way of life, danced in the desert, and rode camels through the Sahara.

As we continue towards the vibrant city of Marrakesh, our travels take us through the local market in Rissani, offering a glimpse into the authentic daily life of the region. Along the way, we delve into the rich history of Ouarzazate, known as the Gateway to the Desert, and explore the ancient fortified village of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

MERZOUGA, MOROCCO (2023) | Magical Merzouga Desert Trip Overview + Honest Review

Merzouga is a small town located in the Sahara Desert in the south of Morocco. It’s known as the gateway to the Erg Chebbi sand dunes at the edge of town, consisting of soaring peaks of sand that change color with the shifting light of dawn and dusk. The most authentic way to experience the desert is on camelback, including an overnight stay at a desert camp. Many companies offer such trips, but they vary greatly in cost, comfort, and experience. In this video, we will show you our 3-day safari experience so you know what to expect from a camel trek. We will also give an honest review and different desert activity options at the end of the video.

The TRUTH about the 3 Day Tour from MARRAKECH to the SAHARA DESERT (Merzouga) - IS IT WORTH IT?

Are you thinking of taking the 3 day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi sand dunes in the Sahara Desert? If so, you've found the right video!

In this video I'll take you along and show you in detail what the tour is like. I'll show the truth, the good and the bad. The driving, the sights along the way, the food, the accommodation, the timings, the costs. Everything.

It’s a popular tour for anyone visiting Morocco, and it’s the real thing right to the edge of the Sahara proper, rather than the one day tours. Before I went I couldn’t find that much information online prior to going. There was no real detail about exactly what you see, where you stay and what you eat. Also, what you get for paying a little extra for the luxury option.
This is the video I wish I had been able to watch before going.

We’ll go from Marrakech and up into the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass - The highest pass through the mountains. From there we come out the other side of the mountains and visit and amazing ancient town of Ait Ben Hadou, where many movies have been filmed. We’ll stop at the Rose valley and the Dadès Gorges before going to the hotel for the night.

On day 2, we’ll visit Tinghir and the Todgha Gorge before getting to Merzouga and riding a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes to the camp for the night.

The final day is the long journey back to Marrakech. On this day I’ll give you my full summary of the tour - the good, the bad, advice and tips.

Here's a full breakdown of what the tour involved, allowing you to go straight to any part you're interested in. Be sure to watch to the end so that you can hear my summary and useful tips!

This was filmed on 24, 25, 26 May.

ROADTRIP TO THE SAHARA DESERT | Traveling from Fez to Merzouga

Location: Merzouga, Morocco
Recorded: March 4, 2023
Vlog 114

AHHHHH!! Today we are visiting the Sahara Desert for the first time in our lives. We booked a 5-day, 4-night private luxury Sahara Desert trip with Marrakech Camel Tours.

YouTube: @marrakechcameltrips4336
Insta: @marrakechcameltrips

We were picked up at 8am from Fez and began our journey down south. We stopped off in a town called Efrain which resembles Chamonix in Europe. We also drove through a cedar forest and fed monkeys. Well, Matt did. Patricia is still scarred by the monkeys in Southeast Asia. Along the way, we explored the Ziz River Valley. We had lunch in Midelt before finally entering the Sahara Desert.

We arrived at our stunning hotel called Riad Madu. We would literally move here if we could. It's so exciting to see the Erg Chebbi dunes for the first time. We had a lovely dinner at the hotel and went to bed for an exciting day of adventure in the Sahara Desert.

We hope you enjoy the vlog, and we are excited to show you more of the Sahara Desert over the next few days!

FES - Morocco's GRAND Imperial City! Travel Vlog

In this travel vlog I'll show you the real Fes (or Fez). The grandest of Morocco's grand imperial cities is known as the country’s cultural capital. The Fes El Bali walled medina is largest Islamic medieval city in the world, where life goes on mostly as it has for hundreds of years.

Even the new, or middle city - Fes El Jdid, dates to around the 13th century!

I'll show you not just the sights of the Fes El Bali medina such as the famous Tannery Sidi Moussa, but also around the streets and day to day life. The greatest joy of the medina is not an individual sight, it's simply walking around, getting lost and taking it all in.

In Fes El Jdid we'll walk around both the Islamic and Jewish sides, seeing another Fes medina and the wonderful differences that exist in this part of the city.

Unbelievable Moroccan Food!! ???????? STUFFED PIGEONS + Medfouna! | Morocco, North Africa

???????? Best Moroccan Food in Rabat:

???? T-shirts:

RISSANI, MOROCCO - Welcome to the Sahara desert of Morocco, home to incredible people, culture, and unique food. Today we’re going on a Sahara Moroccan food tour to eat some of the most prized regional delicacies.

A huge thank you to Moroccan Food Tour ( for arranging my trip to Morocco!

Family home lunch - First we were invited to a local family home to prepare a delicacy of stuffed pigeons, filled with a mixture of scrambled eggs, kofta, and spices. The pigeons were roasted in the oven until golden crispy. I couldn’t believe how tasty they were - one of the best and most unique meals in Morocco!

Rissani Bazaar - Rissani is a small but bustling town when it’s market day, and we arrived prime time to see all the action. We headed into the bazaar to buy meat and spices to make a food speciality called medfouna - which is a Moroccan stuffed flatbread filled with meat, spices, and nuts. We took the meat mixture to the baker where they prepared this incredible delicacy.

After drinking some fresh camel milk, and taking an ATV ride we then headed to make another style, but more traditional medfouna baked in the sand. He added almost the same meat filling as the first, and then flattened it out and covered it in hot sand. A few minutes later, it came out - slightly burned - but after taking off the char, it was perfectly cooked, gooey on the inside and meaty on the inside.

It was an incredible day of food and fun in the Sahara desert in Morocco!

Thank you again to Mohamed and the entire team from Moroccan Food Tours ( for arranging this amazing experience!

MOROCCO (PT 2/2: Sahara Desert & Fez!) // travel vlog #17

Hola amigos!
This is the second part of my Morocco series, and maybe my favourite video I have created yet! Morocco was absolutely incredible, and this vlog highlights my favourite memories from this trip: camping in the Sahara, seeing the sunset on the dunes, the moon rise above the sand, and watching the sun rise again after hiking up the to the tallest dune! I discovered my spirit animal to be los camellos (camels), visited the first university to have ever been created, and wandered through the busy markets of Fez. Morocco stole my heart, and I can't wait to visit again in the future!

Thank you for supporting my journey, stay tuned for my next vlog where I travelled to Amsterdam immediately after Morocco!

Morocco the crossroads of Europe Africa and Arabia has some of the most diverse culture and geography in the world

as little as 15 miles of movement can repeal a completely new landscape but cultural variety is equally rich

Whether you wish to focus on one particular aspect of Morocco — scenery, cities, countryside, customs, or traditions — or whether you wish to see a wide range of what Morocco has to offer, this is the first decision that has to be made. As Morocco is such a vast country, it's better to decide on the type of trip you'd like to have and then focus on one or two areas where you can experience this.

You'll want to have adequate time to absorb and relish all that you are seeing and experiencing rather than trying to fit everything in. Additionally, the Moroccan population is a mixture of Berbers, Arabs, Africans and the Andalous, another consideration when itinerary planning, depending upon the particular cultural and traditional aspects (e.g. gastronomy) with which you wish to engage during your trip.
