After climbing Kilimanjaro back in 2018 I was in search of a new challenge and decieded to finally take on Surfing. It all started in 2019 when I spent 2 weeks in a surf camp in Sri Lanka to find out if this sport is something for me or not…a few days in and I got more and more addicted. The first steps were taken and I decided to go for it and promised myself that every time I’d be in a destination where surfing is possible I’d take on the opportunity. In the following 16 months I got to work on my surfing skills in Portugal, Costa Rica, Morocco and Sri Lanka again before spending several months in a row in Portugal and becoming friends with the guys from Surf Cascais.
When they asked me if I want to join them for a surf trip with friends to the Maldives I couldn’t say no. This is a story about catching waves and friendship in one of the most beautiful paradise destinations you can choose for a surf trip

Villingili island, the Maldives - a tour of Villingili island in the Maldives. Let's visit the Maldives in the Indian Ocean and let's travel to the island of Villingili. Villingili is an island in the North Male Atoll and is, administratively, known as Vilimalé and considered the fifth district of Malé, Maldives. Villingili is the only resort island of Addu Atoll, Maldives. The island of Villingili is also notable for having the highest natural elevation in the Maldives, Mount Villingili. It stands at a modest 5.1 metres (17 ft) and is located at tee number eight on Villingili’s Golf Course – the only golf course in the Maldives.
The island of Villingili lies about two kilometres (1.2 mi) west of Malé island and is reachable via local ferry service that operates 24 hours, between Malé and Villimalé.
Villimale' currently attracts a lot of local visitors and popular holiday destination among the residents of Male' and Hulhumale', specially during the weekends. There are several hotels[2] and guest houses in Villimale' that also attract tourists from abroad.
