Today, I’m (Trevor James, The Food Ranger) bringing you with us as we venture into the DEEP street foods of Old Dhaka to taste some of the best restaurants in Dhaka. Bangladeshi Street Food HEAVEN!!! Make sure to watch all the way until the end of this street food video because there is a lot of delicious cuisine you are going to love!! I’m a food lover and food vlogger who has been traveling full time around the world to bring you the best street food around the world! In today’s food and travel video, we’re in Old Dhaka trying some AMAZING Bangladeshi street food that is MIND BLOWING and tasty!!!

When we first flew in to Dhaka, Bangladesh, we had no idea how AMAZING Bengali cuisine is. After trying the street food in Old Dhaka, I’m convinced that it’s some of the best street food around the world, and that Street food in Bangladesh is worth spending a lifetime exploring!

First up, we’re going to the Dhaka University area to try a famous street food in Dhaka, the Kola Bhorta, an ULTRA complex and delicious street food made in a mortar and pestle. It had hog plum, mustard, olive, tamarind, sugar, chili, coriander, and chili, and was made by the most friendly vendor! It was spicy, sour, bitter, sweet, pungent, and very intense!

Next, we’re bringing you to the New Market area of Dhaka, right outside Old Dhaka, an area bustling with food stalls and super fast paced bustle. The street food vendors here work with ULTRA FAST speed and you can tell that everyone is in a hurry because there is so much food and street stalls packed in here. I ordered a Bhel Puri, a kind of crispy puff filled with chickpea and lentil mash and chili with tamarind chutney and topped with a cold cucumber, tomato, and onion salad. It was an amazing street food to try!

Next up, we’re bringing you to a FAMOUS Restaurant in Dhaka, the MAMA Haleem! Here, an ULTRA THICK beef stew is prepared with lentils, wheat, mustard, and Bengali spices in a HUGE POT! It tastes so delicious and spicy and is one of the most filling street foods you’ll ever eat in the whole world!

After that amazing street food in Bangladesh, we’re bringing you to eat a famous breakfast in Bangladesh at star hotel. Here, one of the most delicious mutton food stews AKA pays is served bright an early every day at 6am. We got up early and were surprised to see the place was PACKED with locals slurping away at this delicious Bengali food! We also ordered a beef heart curry, dal, local tea, and naan. It was an incredibly filling and flavour packed breakfast!

And before visiting the BRAIN FRY KING of Bangladesh, we’re going for a FAMOUS biryani dish in Old Dhaka, the Kachi biryani. It was prepared in these huge pots with big goat leg pieces and was one of the most aromatic biryani’s I’ve ever tried! It had a caraway flavour and was a little mustardy as well! Mustard is such an important part of Bengali cuisine, and we fell in love with the food during our trip mainly because of this mustard flavour in everything, it’s so delicious and fluffy!!

After the AMAZING Biryani, we’re bringing you to our final stop, the BRAIN FRY KING of Bangladesh! Here, you can taste amazing Brain fry and beef chap marinated in a ton of spices and put into a deep and dark oil that is intensely flavourful. When it comes out, you grab a luchi and wrap it up and pop it in your mouth, and it’s quite delicious! Watching the BRAIN FRY KING of Bangladesh work with superhuman speed as he fries up the brain and the beef chap was very fun!

Street Food in Bangladesh!! KEBAB FRY MOUNTAIN + Bangladeshi Food in Old Dhaka!

???? Watch Day 1 in Bangladesh - Hilsa Fry:
???????? Huge thanks to @PetukCouple
???? SUBSCRIBE: Don’t miss new food videos!

DHAKA, BANGLADESH - Welcome to Dhaka, and today we’re going on an ultimate Bangladeshi street food tour of Old Dhaka (known locally as Puran Dhaka). Old Dhaka is known for its amazingly congested streets, energy, being the center of fabric trade, and also for its amazing history of food - especially meats. Along with @PetukCouple and friends we are eating at the legendary street food spots!

Haji Biriyani ( - First up we took a cycle rickshaw directly to Haji Biriyani, since 1939, and probably the most famous biryani in all of Old Dhaka. Their biryani is unlike any other biryani I’ve had, fluffy like a could, fragrant from mustard oil and green chilies, and meaty. So good, it’s a place you have to eat when you’re in Dhaka.

Beauty Lacchi and Faluda ( - Next up, another legendary place for lacchi, similar to a lassi, and faluda. Their lacchi is sweet and sour, like an icy refreshing yogurt drink.

Old Dhaka Breakfast snacks - Next up on this ultimate street food tour we had some local pastries which are popular for breakfast, right out of the tandoor.

Hanif Biryani ( - Another legendary place for biryani in Old Dhaka is Hanif Biryani. It’s not as fluffy as Haji Biriyani, but has a nice fragrance of rose water.

Bismillah Kabab Ghar ( - Another highlight of any Bengali street food tour in Old Dhaka is Bismillah Kabab Ghar where they specialize in all sorts of fried kebabs - they are not grilled kebabs as I would typically think, but more like stir fried kebabs full of spices, onions, and green chilies. Their kidney fry and chicken chop were outstanding.

Mama Kabab House - Next up we went for grilled kebabs, an assortment of fire grilled chicken and mutton grilled until crispy.

Grilled Fish - Everyone said it was a first for them to eat something other than meat in Old Dhaka, but the bbq fish was very tasty especially with all the chutneys.

Fresh Juice - You’ll find an abundance of juice stalls in Old Dhaka, and one of the favorites in cashew milk - more like a milkshake of blended cashews.

Fire Paan - Finally to complete this ultimate and extreme Bangladeshi street food tour in Old Dhaka we had fire pan!

Bangladesh is a true street food heaven. We didn't know when we flew in, but there is a LOT of delicious street food to eat in Bangladesh. In Old Dhaka, AKA Puran Dhaka, you can spend a lifetime trying new street foods around every corner. And what I loved so much from eating street food around Old Dhaka was not only the delicious mustardy flavour of the street food here, but the friendliness of the Bangladeshi people.

Everywhere we went to eat street food in Bangladesh, the peoople welcomed us with open hearts and a big smile. It left a huge impression on us and left us inspired to come back to eat more street food in Bangladesh again.

The Bengali food you will taste when you travel in Bangladesh is incredibly delicious. After tasting my first bharta in Old Dhaka, I was convinced that this is some of the best street food around the world. There truly is no other flavour like the food in Bangladesh! You have to come here to try it yourself!

To start out our HUGE Bangladesh Street Food Tour, we visited Puran dhaka AKA Old dhaka bright and early to eat some famous Dhakan Bhakor Khani, also known as the Dhakan biscuit. It's a wheat dough and semolina flour biscuit that has 2 versions, one sweet and one plain. The sweet version has dough and semolina soaked in molasses and saffron. The dough is pushed DEEP inside the tandoor oven, the same ovens used to cook famous Bangladeshi recipes all over the country. It goes PERFECTLY with some delicious Bangladeshi street chai! There are many Bakorkhani stalls in Puran Daka (Old Dhaka), but we visited the most famous one, Nashu Faruker Shera Bakorkhani.

After that amazing Bangladeshi street food biscuit, we went for the ULTIMATE meal of Bangladeshi cuisine, the bhorta feast! We're taking you to Nirob Hotel for some AMAZING Bhortas! When you first come to Bangladesh, everyone tells you to eat the Bhortas, and you may not be sure what they are. Bhortas are a special Bengali cuisine usually made of mashed fish or mashed vegetables with mustard oil, chili, garlic, onion, and the occasional sprinkle of lime. The bhortas are all brought to your table and you pay for what you eat, and leave what you don't touch. I ate a SPICY duck curry that was out of this world!

After the amazing Bengali curry heaven, we made our way to the most FAMOUS street food in Old Dhaka, the haji biryani. Highly seasoned rice is cooked in mustard oil and filled with extremely tender goat meat and topped with lime! SUPER TASTY!

After this, we're bringing you to a solid street dessert in Old Dhaka, Bangladesh, the lassi and faluda, found at beauty lassi, one of the tastiest lassis in the whole country! I personally loved the faluda and found it to be one of my favourite desserts I've ever had!

After the lassi, we're taking you to try a famous Bangladeshi street food, the Pitha rice flour pancake loaded with spicy mustard bhorta. You can find these all over the streets of Old Dhaka and you should definitely try one!

After this, we're finishing off the night by going for the famous Murgh pulao found at nanna biryani. The best part of this dish was the sweet and rich onion gravy that covered the super tender chicken and pulao rice!

If you're thinking of traveling to Bangladesh to eat street food in Bangladesh, DO IT! The food is amazing, the people are friendly, and you will have a great time! I know we will be back for sure!

Bangladeshi Street Food - KING of FUCHKA and CHOTPOTI!! Amazing Bangladesh Food!

???? Watch - Kacchi Biryani:
???????? Huge thanks to @PetukCouple
???? SUBSCRIBE: Don’t miss new food videos!

KUSHTIA, BANGLADESH - Tonight we are continuing on our street food tour in Kushtia, at night when so many different street foods come alive. We’ll go to eat two of the greatest of all Bangladeshi street foods - fuchka and chotputi.

So we headed out in the evening and chotputi. Chotputi is a huge mix of chickpeas and potato, a mix of spices and green chilies, tamarind dressing, and crunchy puri shells, all mixed with shredded egg and extra chilies. It’s hearty, it’s extremely tasty, and it’s one of the best street food snacks in Bangladesh. Chotpoti - 50 Taka ($0.58)

Next we headed down the street to eat fuchka, which is similar to pani puri or golgappa, but the Bangladeshi version. And pani puri is typically served with water on the inside one by one, but fuchka is served with the tamarind water and juices on the side so you do it yourself. It’s one of the world’s greatest street foods. So good, an unbelievable amount of flavor. Fuchka - 50 Taka ($0.58)

Haleem is another classic dish available across the Indian subcontinent. The Bangladeshi version here in Kushtia was fantastic - loaded with spic and green chili. We continued this Bangladeshi street food tour in the center of the city, eating some pakoras made with stink vine leaves - they are very well known to have a seriously stinky aroma, but a delicious taste when cooked. The pakoras were amazing.

Another fantastic night of eating street food in Bangladesh!

We had the best time creating these food videos for you in Bangladesh and found everyone to be SUPER FRIENDLY! This Dhaka Food Tour video is full of AMAZING street food that you're going to love, it's gonna make you want to move to Bangladesh!

First up, we're going for a Bangladeshi street food BREAKFAST in Old Dhaka, one of the best Chicken soups I've ever tasted, and a SPICY Dal curry that is full of energy! Here, you can get amazing naan bread and spicy curry for breakfast with all the locals for SUPER CHEAP. My breakfast cost less than 1$! AMAZING!

After that amazing street food breakfast in Old Dhaka, we are going for our second Bengali breakfast, with a little more dahl, mixed vegetables, and a semolina pudding in the back streets of Old Dhaka.

After this, we're going to my buddy Shimon's home for a HUGE Bengali HOME COOKED meal with his family! It was SO amazing! I am now fully convinced that Bengali cuisine is some of the best in the world! We had a ton of spicy curry, delicious ilish fish, one of the most famous seafoods to try in Bangladesh, and some Bangladeshi bhorta plates made with home style recipes! It was a HUGE Bengali lunch feast. What was even more impressive while making this food video was the amazing hospitality of all the people we met in Bangladesh. Everyone was so friendly and of course so proud of their delicious Bangladeshi food.

I love making these food travel videos for you and it's because of being able to share these amazing street foods around the world and meeting friendly people that I do it. In Dhaka, we found everyone to be extremely friendly and interested in our food travel videos because everyone in Bangladesh loves food!

After the amazing home cooked Bangladeshi food meal with Shimon, we're continuing on our full on food tour of Dhaka and exploring the outskirts of town to try a HUGE SEAFOOD BBQ stall at a local village market quite like a farmers market. This stall had a big variety of local seafood from Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a beautiful country full of delicious seafood and this stall had quite a big selection. They had red snapper, coral fish, local crabs, chicken tikka, and tandoori chicken, all put on top of the BBQ. I found the smoky flavour from the barbecue and the rich curry sauce on top of the fish we ordered to be the PERFECT flavour!

After this amazing local seafood at the farmers market, we continued our food tour and made our way deeper into the market to find a long alleyway PACKED with Bengali dessert shops. This was one of the most AMAZING dessert streets I've ever witnessed! So many varieties of Bengali desserts to choose from!

Tastiest Bangladeshi Street Food!! Kalai Roti Making + Eggplant Vorta! | Kushtia, Bangladesh

???? Watch - Mezban Feast in Bangladesh:
???????? Huge thanks to PetukCouple
???? SUBSCRIBE: Don’t miss new food videos!

KUSHTIA, BANGLADESH - Welcome to Kushtia and this evening we are heading out to drink a special cup of tandoori tea before going to eat kalai roti and eggplant vorta - one of my favorite meals in Bangladesh.

First we headed out to drink a special cup of tea, of cha as it’s known in Bengali. Tandoori tea is the process of heating clay cups until they are red glowing hot, and then pouring premade milk tea over the cups so it scorches the milk and tea giving off a unique flavor aroma. The was sweet, scented with cardamom, and smoky from the tandoori process. It was a delicious way to spend a fantastic afternoon in Kushtia.

Next up we went into town to a restaurant that serves kalai roti, smashed eggplant vorta, and a variety of different chili dips and sauces. Kalai roti is originally from northern Bangladesh, especially Chapainawabganj and Rajshahi, but Kushtia is not too far away. They kalai roti is made from a variety of lentil flour and the bread is flattened out and cooked in clay pans over fire. The result is an amazingly hearty and healthy bread that non-oily and full of fiber and flavor. It’s specifically eaten with vorta, many kinds of pounded and smashed chilies and eggplant and mustard. The highlight was eggplant cooked in the furnace, smashed, mixed with shallots, chilies, and mustard oil. What a dish, the combination is one of my favorites in all of Bangladesh. Additionally we had duck curry and quail curry to wrap up our amazing meal.

Price - 350 Taka ($4.06) for everything

16 Hours Eating Fish!! EXTREME BANGLADESHI FOOD - Market Tour + Home Cooking in Bangladesh!!

???? Watch - Kacchi Biryani:
???????? Huge thanks to @PetukCouple
???? SUBSCRIBE: Don’t miss new food videos!

KUSHTIA, BANGLADESH - During our trip to Kushtia we spent an entire day home cooking… and it was one of the greatest food days of our trip to Bangladesh. Not only in Bangladesh, but all around the world, the greatest food experiences are often home cooking. Today we’re cooking an all out Bangladeshi fish feast from morning to night!

When you think about Bangladeshi food, you might think about the rich goat and beef dishes, but really, the most common of all foods that’s consumed daily is fish and rice. Bangladesh is blessed with an abundance of river, and seas, and fish is common around the country. So today, we’re focusing the entire day on eating Bangladeshi fish dish specialties. In the morning we had day old fermented rice with ilish, the national fish of Bangladesh. Then we went to the Kushtia market and especially headed to the fish market section to buy a variety of different fish to cook for lunch and dinner.

Aunty is such an amazing cook, she’s the person you want to be cooking for you when you’re in Kushtia! I loved how she’s so natural at cooking, from the look in her eyes you can tell that she enjoys cooking and the joy it brings to others.

One of my favorite dishes of the entire trip, in all of Bangladesh, is ilish fish cooked with fresh mustard paste and mustard oil. It’s like mustard on top of mustard and the pungent flavor is so incredibly tasty when smashed into rice.

Another incredibly special day of Bangladeshi food in Bangladesh. Thank you to Rasif’s family for the incredibly warm hospitality and delicious food!

Unseen VILLAGE FOOD in Bangladesh!! HUGE LUNCH + Kulfi Malai in Rural Bangladesh!

???? Watch Street Food in Old Dhaka:
???????? Huge thanks to @PetukCouple
???? SUBSCRIBE: Don’t miss new food videos!

KUSHTIA, BANGLADESH - Welcome to Kushtia, a beautiful town in the Khulna Division of Bangladesh. Today we’re visiting a local village outside of the city in the countryside where the amazing family will prepare a full Bangladeshi meal and we’ll also have the chance to see them make a special dessert called malai kulfi.

When we arrived to the village they had already started cooking a few dishes. They prepared a local beef curry and a local chicken curry using garlic and ginger paste and lots of cumin and mustard oil. They also made a variety of vorta or bhorta - which is almost any combination of ingredients smashed together to create incredible flavor. They made a roasted eggplant vorta and an egg vorta.

Lunch was a massive spread of local Bangladeshi food, the beef and chicken curry, all the varieties of vorta, fried eggplant, a number of vegetables, crispy caramelized bitter melon, and dal. It was a spectacular meal.

After we finished eating, we had the special opportunity to see the entire malai kulfi process. Many of the families in this village have cows and they make malai kulfi to sell it in the market. They first boil the fresh milk for 12 hours until the cream separates - it’s the thickest milk skin you’ll ever see - almost like cheese. It’s then mixed with cardamom and sugar.

Rasif and Anik sell the kulfi from this village under the name Coolfie Wala ( it’s very cool that they are supporting this family and village through distributing kulfi throughout Bangladesh.

Another learning experience and delicious meal in Kushtia, Bangladesh!

Next up, we're meeting with Mr. Monju, owner of Mezzan Haile Aaiun, who is bringing us into his back kitchen CURRY FACTORY for EXCLUSIVE ACCESS to watch how the world famous Chittagong street food and festival food of Mezbani beef is prepared (also sometimes spelled Mejbani beef). Here in the back kitchen, he has a large staff preparing the local masalas using local spices and by grinding up ginger and garlic on their own stone mortar and pestles. Watching the masala being made was an amazing experience!

As soon as we walked in, you could smell the rich beef aroma in the huge decks. The famous dish, the mezbani beef, is prepared using a dark brown masala that is full of roast cinnamon, cloves, bay leaves, and local spices, and of course, the most famous ingredient for street food in Bangladesh, mustard oil. We watched the mezbani beef being prepared in this giant CURRY FACTORY and then made our way to Mr. Monju's restaurant and had a huge table full of delicious curry.

When we arrived at Mezban Haile Aaiun, we ordered 4 dishes. The mejbani beef, the beef khala bhuna, the nola AKA beef nihari, and a chana dhal with huge chunks of beef. It was all incredibly delicious and was one of the best meals we had in Bangladesh, and made us both fall in love with Bangladeshi cuisine!

The next morning, we're getting up at 5am to bring you for the ULTIMATE Nihari AKA Nola in downtown Chittagong. This is a super famous street food all throughout Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan. Every country has their own way of cooking it, and here in Bangladesh, it was made with TONS of local desi ghee and fat from the beef bones and bone marrow. Slurping the beef bones is super satisfying because the fat is infused into the soup and you get a super strong flavour combined with all the local masala and naan!!!

And to finish off our Bangladeshi street food tour in Chittagong, we're going to Nizam hotel for the ultimate Bangladeshi FEAST! One of the best things about food in Bangladesh is the mustardy kick to a lot of the curries, and here at Nizam hotel, we ordered a full table of chicken curry, beef curry, duck curry, turkey curry, and fish curry. And along with all of these curries, it was also served with tons of Bangladeshi bhortas, AKA mashed vegetable and dried fish dishes that are spicy and full of flavour!!! The best part about this amazing meal in Chittagong, Bangladesh, is the fact that you only pay for what you eat, and the rest is brought back to the kitchen!

We had an amazing time in Bangladesh and will definitely be back to make more of these food videos! I hope you enjoyed watching!
