Impressionen aus Khao Lak Thailand. Unser Urlaubsland seit vielen vielen Jahren. Die Gastronomie und die Bars sind meistens immer gut aufgestellt. Hier einmal das alte Nong Prev Restaurant direkt am Meer. Lecker essen und trinken mit Blick aufs Wasser und den Strand. Heute hat sich auf der kleinen Landzunge vieles getan, aber nicht zum positiven. Auch das Restaurant ist nun weiter nach hinten verlegt worden. Ich wünsche euch allen einen schönen Urlaub. Genießt die Sonnen und das Meer, lasst die Seele baumeln und euch eine schöne Zeit. Bleibt gesund und achtet auf euch und eure Mitmenschen. Viel Spaß und Gruß, Roland.

Phatthalung (พัทลุง), Thailand - Welcome to Phatthalung (พัทลุง) is southern Thailand and today we’re going in search of a rare Thai dish made with rattan shoots and fermented fish!
Trang Moo Yang (ตรังหมูย่าง) - But first, in order to get to Phatthalung, we needed to fly into Trang which is a bigger city with an airport. After landing we got in our car and then had to stop for breakfast. Trang is very well known for their local Thai Chinese style of dim sum and trang moo yang, roast pig.
บ้านต้นไม้ ร้อยหวันนอนฟังสายน้ำ - - We then drove to Phatthalung to meet up with my good friends P’Ju (พี่จู) and P’Nong (พี่นงค์). From there we went straight into the jungle to harvest the spiky rattan shoots in order to make the curry. After getting the rattan shoots we headed to their pristine jungle camp where they cooked Thailand’s hidden dish of southern Thailand; Fish Curry with Rattan Shoots (แกงน้ำเคยยอดหวาย). It’s a dish that you won’t find common anymore although P’Ju was mentioning that it’s an old dish that used to be prepared during festivals. It was outstanding!
Phatthalung (พัทลุง) town - After spending the night at P’Ju’s homestay we then drove into Phatthalung town and on to Pa Ngiao Restaurant (ร้านอาหารป้าเงี้ยว ลำปำ) for some river prawns tom yum and freshwater seafood!

Today we traveled from Bangkok to Khao Lak. We took a Thai Lion Air plane to Phuket, where we rented a car. From Phuket Airport it is about 88 kilometers to the J.W. Marriott Resort Khao Lak.
It is easy to get from bangkok to Khao Lak. The resort itself was spectaculair.

Khao Lak Village Looks like a Ghost Town - No Tourists Thailand
Khao Lak Village looks like a ghost town, there are no tourists. We walked through the main street and most restaurants, shops and massage places are closed.
Luckily some shops where open, such as Loma Diving Adventure and the Wonderland. We had a talk with them.

THAILAND Khao Lak Takua Pa Old Town Walking Street and City Wall
Visited Old Takua Pa Town in Khao Lak. This was the end of last year. During the pandemic there was not much to do in Town. Normally there is a market at Walking Street, but that comes alive at night.
First we visited the Takua Pa Old Town Wall and after that we had a look at the Walking Street.
On our way back to Khao Lak we passed the Ban Dok Daeng Monastery สำนักสงฆ์บ้านดอกแดง

We did a tour at the Little Amazon in Khao Lak Takuapa คลองสังเน่ห์. A stunning canoe canoe ride through the wild nature. I made a long 1 hour video and decided to upload it almost unedited. The Area is so stunning and relaxing.
We where lucky the guide spotted 4 snakes, many monkeys, a hornbill, King Fisher, Water Monitor. It is a long video, to make it easier to skip some things, I made the time stamps.

Now Thailand still closes the country. No foreign tourists Pattaya is now quiet, stores close almost 80%, the economy is terrible here. I've never seen Pattaya like this before. Normally can travel all night. There is no silence But now everything close at 11:00 PM.

Heute sind wir endlich im schönen Khao Lak angekommen. Leider spührt man das COVID19 auch hier angekommen ist. Leere Straßen und kaum noch was los. Der einzige Vorteil? Leere Strände! Trotzdem ist die Stimmung sehr gedrückt. Wir werden uns ein bisschen aussruhen und gleich mal einen Roller mieten und danach geht es zum WHITE SAND BEACH.
