In this Italy travel guide video, we visit Positano in the Amalfi coast. Positano is arguably the most popular and picturesque place on the Amalfi Coast. There is a lot of information online about why you should visit, so we wanted to show you some reasons why you should not visit. It is a top place to visit in Italy but we wanted to give you the full picture so you can decide whether it is the destination for you.
The main things to consider are the parking and roads if you are driving. The prices are not that friendly to budget backpackers and it is not necessarily unique. That said, it was an incredible place and it is obvious why it is so popular.

We have finally arrived at the Amalfi Coast! This has been on the bucket list for quite some time now, and it's finally happening! Today we'll give you our first impressions of the Amalfi Coast, and take you with us as we explore the mountain roads by scooter, and the beautiful coastline by boat! It wasn't exactly easy getting here. We left Monopoli on Italy's east coast, drove 3 hours west to Salerno, hopped on a Ferry to Amalfi, then caught a bus to Conca dei Marini where we are staying! We decided we wanted some freedom so we rented a scooter from Salvatore down at Amalfi Rent-A-Scooter and set off on the most epic roads we've ever ridden! Our boat captain Vincenzo was incredible and showed us all the hot spots along the coast, including the infamous Positano. We still can't believe we're here!

I have always dreamed of visiting Italy's Amalfi Coast, but after spending a weekend there, would the hype of Amalfi live up to the reality of being there?
In this video, I go through my experience on the Amalfi Coast and in the town of Amalfi itself and offer some tips on how to get the most out of your time in Amalfi.

In October we did about 9 days in Italy: Rome, Venice then a quick trip to Positano, Italy at the end. We wondered Is it worth the hype? It can't possibly be as beautiful as the instagram photos I had seen online. The answer is here in this video!
We flew into Naples on Volatea airlines, which is one of Italy's low cost carriers. I was a bit worried, so I just paid ahead for everything: seat selection, early board, snack and drink, etc. It was all fine and a great flight actually.
After landing in Naples we hadn't booked any car service ahead of time, but it was October and thought we'd be ok and we were. We ordered an Uber and it came in the form of a taxi. Please don't try to drive there yourself if you're not local. It's a windy road and if you tend to get car sick beware and take a dramamine or something. But my was the drive beautiful!
Here's a tip: book your return car service to Naples in advance. We didn't (of course) and it almost ruined our return flight but in the end we found one.
If you visit Positano be ready to walk. The hills are steep getting down to the beach area as I'm sure you have seen in photos.
