Honduras travel vlog, exploring Copán ????????

In this Honduras Travel vlog, I explored the town of Copán in Honduras. This town is mainly known for its nearby ruins, however, the town offers a chilled back and colourful atmosphere that is interesting to soak up after a day at the ruins. I first went to a tea, coffee, and cacao plantation and got the chance to taste their artisanal products. In the morning I explored the ruins of Copán that date back to the 6th century! They are some of the most rural Maya ruins I visited during my visit to Central America. I spent the afternoon walking around the cobbled streets of Copán and bought a must-have local accessory (a hat!). I finished my trip by spending the afternoon with the group at the local hot springs!

Exploring the Mayan City of Copan in the jungles of Honduras

Exploring the Mayan City of Copan in the jungles of Honduras

We took a six to seven hour shuttle from Antigua, Guatemala to Copan Ruinas, Honduras. The trip was a bit brutal but once we arrived it was all good. Our hotel accommodations was at the Iguana Azul Hostel which was wonderfully run and affordable. They also have an attached hotel with a garden restaurant serving locally sourced organic food. Our first morning there, we all crowded into a tuk tuk and rode out to the ancient mayan ruins just outside of town. Known as the white city or the lost city of the monkey god, the ruins were amazing. We opted to hire a guide and he was a character but we were glad to have had access to his knowledge. We also walked past the feeding stations for wild macaws and toured the tunnels and museum. The weather in Copan was hot and humid so we sheltered in the coolness of the hostel until we could regroup.

Copan Honduras Travel Guide | 90+ Countries with 3 Kids

Join us for a tour of Copan, the Copan Ruins and Macaw Mountain!

Because of the ruins, in fact, Copán has always existed as a tourism base, so the town exudes an inviting, familial atmosphere.

The centerpiece of a visit, of course, is Las Copán Ruinas, the remains of the ancient Mayan city and temple grounds. The extant structures you see today are built on top of earlier, older temples and ceremonial centers.

The Copán ruins aren’t as massive or extensive as other sites, but none touches Copán for the amount of sculpture and carved stone. And there’s a great museum with a reconstructed temple and some of the thousands upon thousands of artifacts recovered from the ruins.

You can see macaws all around or you can take a tour at Macaw Mountain and learn all about these beautiful birds.

Here you can wander through acres of natural forest and manicured gardens, along walkways that connect to soaring aviaries filled with parrots, parakeets, tropical owls, and more. There’s a great little lunch grill, and the opportunity for some hands-on interaction with gigantic macaws.

Enjoy the video and let us know where you're watching from!!!

What Is Honduras Jungle Town Of Copán Ruinas Like? ????????

Copán, Western Honduras ????????

We spent a few days exploring the Mayan jungle mountain town of Copán in Western Honduras.

Ate some tasty baleadas and just soaked in the feel of the little cowboy town. The town is super hilly so can be hard work to get around but we enjoyed our time there. ????????????????????????

Copan: Maya Ruins in Honduras ????????

Backpacking through Honduras in 2020 for the first time and we visited the Copan Ruins. We came in via road from Guatemala to see the ruins of the Mesoamerican city. This former capital of a Maya Kingdom had been on my bucket-list for a while, but I hadn't been able to figure out a way to get there until a few months ago. This video should provide you with a brief introduction to the Copan and it's history in a fun way. As usual let me know if you have any questions about the place and I will get back to you asap

Honduras
Country in Central America
Honduras is a Central American country with Caribbean Sea coastlines to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south. In the tropical rainforest near Guatemala, the ancient Mayan ceremonial site Copán has stone-carved hieroglyphics and stelae, tall stone monuments. In the Caribbean Sea are the Bay Islands, a diving destination that's part of the 1,000km-long Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. ― Google

Tegucigalpa
Capital of Honduras
Tegucigalpa is the capital city of Honduras. Set in a central valley surrounded by mountains, it’s known for its well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture. The main Plaza Morazán is dominated by the 18th-century Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel, with its baroque interior. The Museum of National Identity traces the country’s history. It includes a virtual tour of the Copán Mayan ruins of western Honduras. ― Google

What I Saw in this Town still Haunts Me!???????? | Honduras, Comayagua

I will never forget the day I visited Comayagua, a small colonial town in Honduras. On the one hand it is a very beautiful town with very friendly people who will always help you with anything you need. However, I met 2 little street hustlers who showed me the rough side of Honduras where many children have a different reality and problems to deal with than most of us have had.
I hope this video helps you understand their situation and if you ever see similar legends in a country you are exploring, you will know how to make their day that much better!!

HONDURAS | 4x4 TRAVEL DOCUMENTARY | DANGEROUS AND BEAUTIFUL

Honduras has historically held a reputation for being one of the most dangerous countries to travel to in the Americas. However, in recent years, a lot has changed. Is Honduras still the violent, corrupt country it used to be? We decided to see for ourselves.

As part of the Pan-American road trip, which started in Canada, Honduras would be the 6th country for the truck. Initially planning to spend a few weeks on our way to Nicaragua, a change of plans would force us to loop around the country, going from the northern border to the Caribbean coast, the southern border, and all the way to the Pacific.

If you're planning on travelling to Honduras you can definitely make a much more streamlined and optimized trip, for us, it was sort of thrown in our lap and we went with it. Overlanding in general is tough in this country, and camping is almost non-existent. But the coffee is good, the people are kind, and there is ample opportunity for some off-road action and wildlife spotting.

The truck is a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (KZJ78 w/ a 1KZ TE) for anyone interested. Build:

I milked a cow in Santa Rosa de Copan | English girl in Honduras

I spent a few day exploring Santa Rosa de Copan. It's a lovely area with so much to offer...including a huge range of coffee shops and plantations hence being known as 'The capital of Honduran coffee'.

In this travel vlog I visit some of the fincas and haciendas, feed calves, ride on the back of trucks and even try milking a cow!
