First Impressions of San Salvador! (El Salvador Travel Vlog 2022)

A visit to San Salvador is an interesting and exciting experience to say the least! The fact is there's a lot going on in not just the city, but the whole country of El Salvador right now. Most of what's going on is a place that's really improving and making bold and new moves. Visiting right now gives you the chance to witness all of that change and progress, and it's exciting to see!

In this video, we're mainly just talking about our first impressions and not pretending to be experts. Rarely does a place give you so many impressions and observations so quickly. The city has a lot of contrasts. From wide open, quiet residential neighborhoods and fancy, large shopping malls to crowded, loud, bustling markets that are like mazes surrounding the city center. The pace and the prices certainly change from one side of town to the other, but the strong Salvadoran culture is just as strong.

OUR FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF SAN SALVADOR IN 2023 ???????? (this is the future...)

In this video, we take y'all to San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador! We start our El Salvador tour in the Historic Center (Centro Historico) to show you what this area San Salvador has to offer. We started in Plaza Libertad and made our way through la Iglesia del Rosiario, Palacio Real, Catedral Metropolitana de San Salvador, and the lively downtown streets. There were so many people walking around and enjoying the historic center. To our surprise, there were even little bands playing throughout the main square with a number of locals joining in for dancing! Such a fun experience. A little bit later in the afternoon we tried one of the most important foods in El Salvador: THE PUPUSA. We went to an amazing family owned pupusería near our airbnb and it was absolutely fantastic. Every bite was delicious and they were such hospitable and lovely people :) Gracias a La Pupusería Purrushka ❤️ ????????????????

Our Surprising Trip To El Salvador (former most dangerous country)

In today's episode, we pay a visit to the world's former most dangerous country: El Salvador in the heart of Central America.

Up until very recently, the country saw one of the highest murder rates per capita and gang violence was common. But since earlier this year, the country has seen a huge transformation, quickly becoming one of the safest countries in the region. How did this dramatic shift come about?

We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to change the course of our lives, drop out of university, and live life full-time. We're trying to see and learn as much about the world as possible while we're young. Right now, we are working to visit 100 countries before the end of 2022???? Is El Salvador Still Dangerous? I Went To Find Out (#143)

El Salvador. Being from Long Island in New York, you couldn't go through your life without meeting at least a few Salvadorans. But sadly, I never used to hear anything good about the country. I heard about the gang wars, about MS-13, about Barrio 18, about huge waves of migrants fleeing the country. It had the highest murder rate in the world for many of the last 30 years. El Salvador didn't seem like the kinda place you'd wanna visit.

But then I heard that things had changed. There's a new president with some very...unique ideas on public safety. Was it true? Was El Salvador really a different place now?

I had to go there to find out. And I would soon discover that I was quite popular in El Salvador, but not quite with who I imagined.

3 Days in EL SALVADOR ???????? | my vacation at a yoga & surf retreat in the surf city of El Tunco!

A true vacation, Julie-style. ????

✨ Follow me on IG: instagram.com/missworldwidewu

???? Balancé Yoga & Surf Retreat (we stayed in the Bamboo Suite):

???? Food spots:
➢ Esquina Los Amigos - $1 pupusas right in town
➢ Beto's Restaurante La Libertad - hands down the most beautiful restaurant I've ever been to by the ocean (MUST GO! no reservations needed)
➢ Dale Dale Café - casual lunch spot with an outdoor patio & direct views of beach
➢ Cadejo Brewing Company - local beers right by the ocean, amazing food as well
➢ Mopelia - restaurant in center of town with craft beer and live music on certain nights
➢ PARGOS Restaurante - fresh seafood dishes right by Playa El Tunco, can watch the surfers
➢ Point Break Cafe - espresso drinks, cold brew, & light bites

???? Transportation:
➢ You don't necessarily need a car! If you rent one, you will certainly have more flexibility to go where you want and drive to different beaches. The roads are also easy to drive on. However, we used Uber the entire time and it worked. Only thing to note is that there aren't many Ubers available, so often times we waited 20-30 minutes just for one. **If you plan on staying in El Tunco most of the time, the little town and main roads are very walkable.

???? Music in this video (by Epidemic Sound):
➢ Labios - Lawd Ito
➢ Solar Sailing - Osoku
➢ High Drama - Matt Large
➢ Memories from the Past - Bladverk Band
➢ Windy City Streets - Sarah, the Illstrumentalist
➢ Big Sur Blues - Sarah, the Illstrumentalist
➢ Buenos Dias - Matt Large
➢ Rico - Jobii
➢ Valentines in Reykjavik - baegel

El Salvador - First Impressions | Surf City | Bitcoin Beach | El Zonte | El Tunco

We visited El Salvador for the first time. It was difficult to keep aside the media stories and words of caution from friends around the world about visiting the country. However, we had also heard about the changing conditions of traveling in El Salvador and wanted to witness and tell those stories. Hence, here is our collection of first impressions and experiences in the coastal towns of El Salvador - El Zonte and El Tunco.

Our experiences began right at the San Salvador Airport, with the friendly officials (immigration, airport security, customs), and continued wherever we traveled in the country. We will keep sharing our experiences in our next videos and shorts.

Santa Ana - Our Favorite City in El Salvador! (El Salvador Travel Guide 2022)

Santa Ana is El Salvador's second largest city and it's the perfect hub to experience all of the epic attractions you can find in Western El Salvador.

All within an easy day trip from Santa Ana:

The country's tallest volcano, Volcan de Santa Ana (Santa Ana Volcano). Which you can easily hike to the summit of and look down at an epic turquoise crater lake that's literally steaming. On a clear day, you can even see the Pacific Ocean from up there, and plenty of other volcanos.

Lago de Coatepeque, an epic lake in the crater of a volcano that you can swim in. Surrounded by restaurants, bars, and hotels.

Ruta de las Flores (Route of the Flowers), a road that takes you through numerous small colonial towns, famous for their flowers, art, colonial architecture, and mountain scenery. The towns are surrounded by waterfalls and gorgeous nature, and the route has several coffee farms along the way.

You can also visit ancient Maya ruins from Santa Ana and tour coffee farms. It's an epic area to do a lot. If you have time, you can also visit Guatemala and Honduras, both of which are easily accessible from this part of El Salvador.

Beyond the nearby attractions though, the city of Santa Ana itself is an absolute hidden gem in Central America and it quickly became our favorite city in El Salvador. As well as one of our favorites in all of Central America! It's a lively and active city with a ton of culture and spirit, lots of history, an amazing food scene, and a unique blend of old and new. Away from all the action, you can easily escape into one of dozens of quiet and peaceful streets and neighborhoods filled with flowers and fruit trees and dotted with cafes and pupuserias.

We love Santa Ana and in this video we take you around the city, introduce you to some of our friends, and show you some of the things you can't miss when you visit.

Have you been to El Salvador? If not, would you consider going?
We highly recommend it! When you do go, make sure you don't skip out on Santa Ana!

EL SALVADOR is NOT What You Think. ???? ????????

El Salvador is NOT What you think it is. Most glaringly, they have a Democratically Elected Dictator who is implementing a ton of change... luckily it seems to be good change, though not without controversy. So the question is, should you travel to El Salvador with all this going on? (Was I crazy to go solo??)

El Salvador is a beautiful yet small country in Central America. I spent most of my time in San Salvador, the capital city. The Food is amazing, especially Pupusas which are the Salvadoran speciality, but they also have incredible Food in sit-down restaurants-- some of my favorite I've ever eaten.

You'll also experience the Rainbow Slide at the Picnic Steak House, a really beautiful church in the historic center of town called Iglesia El Rosario, and incredible views at Santa Anna Volcano, El Tunco Beach, La Puerta Del Diablo, and Boqueron National Park... When they're open and available to the public!

My hope with this video is that you can decide if visiting El Salvador, and specifically the capital of San Salvador, is right for you. There is a ton going on in El Salvador, and not everyone will want to travel to a country that is in development, but if you do travel to San Salvador, El Salvador... I have a feeling that you might like it.

Traveling To El Salvador With Kids | Salvador Travel Vlog 2022 | Best Places In El Salvador

✨Hello everyone welcome to my video,
El Salvador gets a bad wrap!
We were told by many that this off-the-beaten-path destination was much too dangerous for us to travel to on holiday, particularly with our kids.
However, we found quite the opposite to be true!

El Salvador had well-maintained roads, kind and welcoming locals, plenty of adventures to be had for the outdoorsy family,
and incredible and cheap food to name just a few of the best attributes!

It’s such a tiny country that it would be a great destination for Americans who only have 1-2 weeks off
and are looking to explore a new country that isn’t too far away.

The first half of our stay was booked in an Airbnb in Los Naranjos, a small town of just 5000 residents along the Ruta de las Flores (the Route of Flowers).
It was an absolutely beautiful property in a stunning setting!

You can find some incredible coffee in this area as well as plenty of volcanos to hike and charming towns to explore!

We found El Salvador to be one of the most kid-friendly places that we’ve ever traveled to!

Have you ever visited a place with a negative reputation? Did it live up to your expectations or surpass them?!

I hope you guys will love this video

Entering El Salvador with Only $6!???????? (Don't Do it!)

Imagine entering a country you have never been to , El Salvador.
You only carry $ 6 in cash because you were poorly organized,
You can' t withdraw money because there is no ATM around and even when you find one , your card is rejected.
You don't have internet on your phone because there are no stores around that sell new SIM card numbers.

All you know is that you have to go to the capital San Salvador, which is 7 hours from where you are at the moment, and once you get there you will also have to find a place to sleep, because you were lazy to book something in advance.

You have your backpack, $ 6 in cash and 1 camera to document your day which is about to be a hell of an adventure literally from your very first day in El Salvador.

* In this video you are going to watch a complete raw and real travel experience in one of the most dangerous countries of Central America according to the western media *

Let's see how the heck are we gonna make it to the capital and how are the the locals gonna react with such a random, strange and noisy tourist like myself, hah.

Legooo!!

World's First Bitcoin Beach????????! (El Zonte) | First Impressions |

Just one day after the President of El Salvador officially legalized Bitcoin payments, I decided to go straight to El Zonte, otherwise known as the Bitcoin Beach!!
That's because in this small and beautiful fishing Village, people have been experimenting with bitcoin payments for 2 years now!!
Playa El Zonte is literally the first place in the world where people have ever used bitcoin for their daily shopping!!
I can't wait to buy something with bitcoin, to see how the whole process goes and most importantly, I'm curious to see what these locals have to say about it.I'm sure I will find different views and perspectives!!

On the one hand, this is something extremely unique in the modern economy and yes it is very exciting. On the other hand, no one really knows how much positive or negative impact it will have on the people of a country that at the end of the day all they care about is to support their family and maintain a normal standard of living!!Same as all of us!!
Only the future and history will really show us the results of such an innovation.

* Small SPOILER: While I was recording my video, by a crazy coincidence, the government's media were in the same place filming their own video and after they saw me, they kindly asked me if I wanted to answer a few questions about Bitcoin and El Salvador.I felt a bit stressed but I said yes and I left some parts of my interview in this video too!! I say this only to clarify that I have nothing to do with the government of El Salvador and this video there is no positive or negative deliberate propaganda for the Legalization of Bitcoin!

I record what I see, and what I hear from the people I'm engaging with. Sometimes I even share my personal thoughts that might be you can surely agree with or even disagree!! There is no problem at all, and I'm actually very curious to know,

What's your opinion on what is Happening in El Salvador? Would it benefit the people or no?
