Our 24 hours in GUERNSEY, British Isles! Best Things To See and Do!
Welcome to Day 2 onboard the SKY PRINCESS! We're Molly & Matt and we are on a 7 day Cruise starting from Southampton! We had a full day at Sea yesterday and today we have cruised to GUERNSEY, this will actually be our first Time on the island and we are so excited! We took the water shuttle over to the main town and started exploring! The Water colour surrounding the port was so blue and we found the most perfect bar on the seafront! Then we wandered through the street markets before getting the keys to the special tower! We can't believe we're on a cruise ship for the next 7 days!

Londoner experiencing Town in St. Peter Port, Guernsey
Join me as I play tour guide and show my friend from London around the beautiful island of Guernsey! From exploring St Peter Port to explaining the Pros and Cons of Guernsey, we'll make the most of our weekend together.
On day 1, we'll take a walk through the charming streets of St Peter Port, visiting historical landmarks including high street and sea front along the way. Don't miss out on this fun and adventurous day!
First impressions of ST PETER PORT - The capital of GUERNSEY Channel Islands
Hi everyone! In this video, I explore St Peter Port (or Saint Peter Port), the capital and largest town of Guernsey. Walking around St Peter Port was very special, especially after my recent visit to St Helier in Jersey, one of the other Channel Islands. This allowed me to draw comparisons between St Helier and St Peter Port which I briefly touch upon throughout the vlog in various parts.
The vlog starts off with me walking around the harbour. I immediately notice the statue of Albert the Prince Consort on a roundabout and the vast presence of flowers and flower beds around the city. I also notice a town church and the beautiful buildings near the harbour.
I walk towards Castle Cornet and notice the traffic and number of boats in the town. Getting to the castle was not easy and it was also shut due to it not being tourist season, but the walk itself was lovely. I mention along the way that I really like the pace and vibe of the town.
After exploring the area near the castle, I head back to town but stop for a bite to eat at a cafe in the harbour. I order a Guernsey Gache and give my feedback...
Back in town, I walk towards Liberation Square and notice several commemorative monuments and other related references to the liberation in 1945. Whilst having a patch of sunshine, I also visit the statue of Victor Hugo, the famous French writer who once lived in Guernsey.
I then head back to my hotel for a quick breather and show you my room. I then talk about the one pound (£1) note you find in Guernsey. Following this, I spot a map of the island in the reception and talk a little bit about the size of the island as well as St Peter Port's location in Guernsey.
After a brief stint at the hotel, I head back to town and visit another garden before exploring the shopping area including Main Street, Lefebvre Street and the North Pier Steps. I also talk about the Donkey Statue and visit the Market Buildings Inner Street Arcade and the Old Quarter.
The vlog ends with me having a final walk in the harbour area, where I also give my verdict on St Peter Port as a place to visit and how to get there from the United Kingdom.

GUERNSEY: Exploring beautiful ST. PETER PORT ???? (Channel Islands), let's go!
Guernsey, Channel islands - the capital of Guernsey, Saint Peter Port. Saint Peter Port is the capital of Guernsey as well as the main port. St. Peter Port (French: Saint-Pierre Port) is a town and one of the ten parishes on the island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands. Saint Peter Port is the capital of the Bailiwick of Guernsey as well as the main port. The population of Saint Peter Port in 2019 was 18,958.
St. Peter Port is a small town (commonly referred to by locals as just town) consisting mostly of steep narrow streets and steps on the overlooking slopes. It is known that a trading post/town existed here before Roman times with a pre-Christian name which has not survived.
People from St. Peter Port, were nicknamed les Villais (the townspeople) or cllichards in Guernésiais.
In Guernésiais and in French, historically the official language of Guernsey, the name of the town and its surrounding parish is St Pierre Port.
Guernsey is one of the Channel Islands in the English Channel near the French coast, and is a self-governing British Crown dependency. It's known for beach resorts like Cobo Bay and the scenery of its coastal cliffs. Castle Cornet, a 13th-century harbor fortification in the capital of St. Peter Port, now contains history and military museums. Hauteville House is the lavish former home of French writer, Victor Hugo.

A silent walking tour of ST PETER PORT - the capital of GUERNSEY Channel Islands
Hi everyone! In this video, I take you on a silent walking tour through the town centre of St Peter Port / Saint Peter Port, the capital of Guernsey. As Guernsey is one of the Channel Islands (together with Jersey) and the wider Bailiwick is a Crown Dependency (together with the Bailiwick of Jersey and the Isle of Man), I've added this to the 'British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies' playlist.
We start our walk near the hotel where I was staying and walk along the Grange through a residential neighbourhood. We will pass Elizabeth College, St James Church, Sunken Garden and St Paul's Garden before arriving in the town centre. We will see the High Street and several buildings and monuments including Town Church, the Donkey statue and Victor Hugo statue. The walk ends in the beautiful harbour area where we have a view of Castle Cornet.
This was taken on a Sunday morning when many of the shops were shut and a general lack of road and people traffic. When it is so quiet, one can really enjoy the architecture and the sounds of nature, and see things one would not normally see when there are loads of people around. It is also great for the mental health to do such a walk. So, come and enjoy this silent walk with me!

Quick recap — we're on our first cruise, departing with Princess Cruises on Sapphire Princess from Southampton UK. Today we arrived in St Peter Port, Guernsey, to explore our last cruise port.
Guernsey is in a unique spot in the UK, it's actually part of the British Channel Islands so is quite popular with various boat trips and cruise travel as well. We were pleasantly surprised with how welcoming, similar and yet so different Guernsey was to the other spots in the UK we've travelled.
Guernsey is one of those places we never really imagined we'd get the chance to travel, thankfully it was the last included stop on our cruise and we had the whole day to get lost, eat food and embrace the local good stuff ( aka cider ???? )

Sky Princess - Western Europe - Day 7 - St Peter Port, Guernsey
Thank you for joining us as we continue our first ever cruise with Princess Cruises on the stunning Sky Princess. Our cruise was a 7 day trip around Western Europe calling at the ports of La Rochelle in France followed by the ports of Bilbao and La Coruna in northern Spain before heading to St Peter Port on the beautiful island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands on our way back to Southampton.
In this episode, following an amazing sunrise, we arrive at our final port of the cruise, St Peter Port in Guernsey. What a welcome from the local people who give voluntarily of their time to offer advice on what to do & see during your visit ashore. Once again, the weather was perfect and we spent a few hours wandering through the flower filled streets - we were lucky enough to be there during a street festival and there were lots of wonderful singers in various areas entertaining the visitors and locals.
We had a walk along the harbour towards Castle Cornet but as time was running away with us, we did not go inside - maybe on our next visit!! Walking out to the castle did give us some stunning views back towards Guernsey as well as out to sea where Sky Princess was waiting for us to return by tender boat.

This is a tour I took around the capital of Guernsey, I found the story interesting and wanted to share. When you in St Peter Port you should take this trip. The small train leaves from port next to café no. 17 and the price for an adult was £6

Saint Peter Port is the capital of Guernsey as well as the main port. In Guernésiais and in French, historically the official language of Guernsey, the name of the town and its surrounding parish is St Pierre Port. The port distinguishes this parish from Saint Pierre Du Bois.
As well as being a parish, St. Peter Port is a small town consisting mostly of steep narrow streets and steps on the overlooking slopes. St Peter Port is known that a trading post/town has existed here since before Roman times, the pre-Christian name of which has not survived into the modern era. People from St. Peter Port, were nicknamed les Villais (the townspeople) or cllichards in Guernésiais.
St. Peter Port is located on the east coast of Guernsey. It borders St. Sampson in the north, The Vale in the north-west, St. Andrew in the west and St. Martin in the south. On the seaward side it faces Herm to the east, across the Little Russel, and Sark and Brecqhou even further east across the Big Russel between them and Herm. The Bréhon Tower sits in the Little Russel between St. Peter Port and Herm.
St. Peter Port has an English Isthmian League club, Guernsey F.C. who play at Footes Lane. The Guernsey Rugby Football Club also play at Footes Lane and compete in National League 3 London & SE. Candie Gardens, an award-winning restored Victorian Garden features a statue of Victor Hugo. Cambridge Park is a recreational park that includes a skate park. In 2014 the parish was a Gold & Category Winner in the RHS Britain in Bloom competition

Kicking off the day with breakfast in St Peter Port, we took to the cliffs for an epic day out on Guernsey's coastline. Passing by sights such as the La Valette Bathing Pools, the Clarence Battery, and the fancy houses of Fort George, we began to fall in love with the peace and tranquillity that can be found just outside of Guernsey's busiest town.
After 3 hours of tough slog, we decided to head back into town to the Seafront Sunday markets in St Peter Port and finish off the day with some of Guernsey's best street food.
