Street Food in Copenhagen - MUST-EAT DANISH FOOD in Denmark! ????????

Thank you to Visit Copenhagen:
????Ultimate Chinese Street Food - Chengdu:
????T-shirts and caps:

Street food in Copenhagen, Denmark! For this street food tour, we started off at the local market, ate some gourmet market food, and then continued on to the biggest street food market in Copenhagen, followed by a visit to food hall, and finally completing this food tour with the ultimate legendary Danish street food of all! #Denmark #Copenhagen #visitcopenhagen

Torvehallerne - For any food lovers, going to Torvehallerne is a must when you’re in Copenhagen. It’s an amazing artisanal market with a very high standard of food and local ingredients. You can shop for ingredients, have coffee, or choose from one of the many Danish food vendors.

Omegn & Venner - Gourmet foods at Torvehallerne - This is the place we tried the first canned fish and bread, and Danish chicken salad with rye bread. They are cool, and their products are top quality.

Frikadeller - One of the best things to eat is frikadeller, Danish meatballs, that are more like patty size. They are spongy and fluffy, and so good. Price - 45 DKK ($6.72)

I Love Fisk - In addition to the meat frikadeller, we also tried a big fish frikadellar. Price - 50 DKK ($7.47)

Seafood and Smoked Fish - But my favorite part of visiting Torvehallerne food hall, was for sure for the mixed smoked fish and seafood. We enjoyed an assortment of herring, salmon, and my favorite, smoked eel. Total price - 174 DKK ($25.98)

Reffen - Street Food Market ( - An amazing concept, very cool people, and a great selection of different international street food, Reffen, is the biggest street food market in Copenhagen. Build in former shipping containers, and within the old ship yards of Copenhagen, the entire market has a rustic, artistic feel. We tried the Nordic Hot Dogs, and Thrilla in Manila for some Filipino street food.

Tivoli Food Hall - Next up on this Danish street food tour of Copenhagen, Esben and I went to Tivoli Food Hall to try some fast, yet gourmet food. Most of the food is international, but Hallernes Smørrebrød is one stall the serves traditional Danish open faced sandwiches. There were pretty good. Total price - 228 DKK ($34.04)

John's Hotdog Deli - But for sure the place I was most looking forward to going on this entire food tour was at the end, the grand finale! John’s Hotdog deli is everything you could dream of in a hot dog and more! Classic hot dog - 32 DKK ($4.78)

Again, thank you to Visit Copenhagen ( for supporting my trip to Copenhagen.

Best Places to Eat in Copenhagen | Food and History Tour

Copenhagen has a vibrant food culture with inspiration from both traditional Danish cuisine and international cuisines. In this video I explore the best places to try various foods in Copenhagen!

Some of the places I visit include:

- Torvehallerne - a food market that opened in 2011 and has quickly become a favourite spot for foodies in Copenhagen. Here I also compare the Danish frikadeller with Swedish meatballs

- Tivoli Food Hall - a food hall that opened in 2017 and features a lot of different types of food. Here I go for the most typical of Danish foods: smørrebrød

- Reffen - an organic street market in a very unique location. Filled with food stands and small shops that give it a very special feeling. Here I try some international food, with fried plantain

- John's Hotdog Deli has been outside the central station for 15 years, and this is where I tell you about the hot dog stands of Copenhagen, and try a traditional røde pølse

- I also visit the Bip Bip Bar to explore the drinking culture in Copenhagen. And to play arcade games!

Aside from this I also have a look at Danish pastries, and the history of Danish cuisine in general. So come along as we explore the culinary side of Copenhagen!

Danish Food Tour - PORK SANDWICH + Legendary Restaurants in Copenhagen!

????Copenhagen Street Food Tour:
????T-shirts and caps:
Thank you to Visit Copenhagen:

Legendary Danish food tour in Copenhagen! One of my favorites types of restaurants to eat at anywhere I travel, are the older, legendary restaurants. So when I was in Copenhagen, I was excited to take a day and go on a legendary Danish food tour, eating at a few of the classic restaurants, and eating some serious classic Danish food. #Copenhagen #Denmark #food

Harry’s Place - Grill Bar - 68 DKK ($10.04) - We started at Harry’s Place, a neighborhood corner grill bar, known for their roasted pork sandwiches. The skin was so crispy, and it was a great place to get this tour started.

Tivoli Gardens - Historical Amusement Park - Next we headed to Tivoli Gardens, one of the oldest amusement parks in the world. Along with walking around and enjoying the scenery, we headed straight to one of the most classic of all restaurants within the park.

Restaurant Grøften - Tivoli Gardens - Restaurant Grøften serves a selection of classic Danish food, including open faced sandwiches, and full plate dishes. We tried a cutlet topped in shrimp, as well as a Danish style schnitzel, which I found out is quite a bit different from other versions that I’ve ever had - Danish style. Total price - 1,150 DKK ($169.81)

Restaurant Kronborg - Easily the highlight Danish food meal of the day was going to the legendary Restaurant Kronborg, a basement restaurant and drinking hall. Their food was incredible, and Esben and I had the Gentlemen’s Lunch set which included an array of traditional style Danish open face sandwiches. What a meal, and I loved the atmosphere and ambiance. Highly recommended when you’re in Copenhagen!

Restaurationen - Finally, to wrap up this legendary food tour of Copenhagen, we ate at Restaurationen, a more modern, yet still traditional Danish restaurant. The food was refined, but delicious, and elegant. Total price - 1,325 DKK ($195.65)

Thank you to Esben (Chef - Rødder for taking me around!

Again, thank you to Visit Copenhagen ( for supporting my trip to Copenhagen.

Copenhagen, the capital city of Denmark, is renowned for its culinary scene, blending traditional Danish cuisine with innovative and international flavours. The city offers a diverse range of dining experiences, from Michelin-starred restaurants to cosy cafés and bustling street food markets. Here's a guide to some of the best places to eat in Copenhagen, catering to a variety of tastes and budgets.

Noma: Frequently topping the list of the world’s best restaurants, Noma is a must-visit for the gastronomic adventurer. Under the guidance of chef René Redzepi, Noma offers a unique dining experience with its emphasis on reinvented Nordic cuisine. The menu is seasonal, focusing on locally sourced ingredients, and is divided into three seasons: seafood, vegetarian, and game and forest. Remember, reservations are essential and should be made well in advance.

Geranium: Another gem in Copenhagen’s culinary crown is Geranium, a three Michelin-starred restaurant led by chef Rasmus Kofoed. The restaurant offers a sublime gastronomic experience, with a focus on Scandinavian cooking techniques and flavours. The dishes are not only a treat for the palate but also a feast for the eyes, with each presentation resembling a work of art.

Torvehallerne: For a more casual and diverse culinary experience, visit Torvehallerne – a vibrant food market with over 60 stalls selling everything from fresh produce to gourmet chocolates and artisanal cheeses. Here, you can sample a wide range of foods, including traditional smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches), organic bakery items, and freshly brewed coffee.

Relæ: A pioneer in the New Nordic kitchen, Relæ offers an unpretentious fine-dining experience with a focus on organic and sustainable ingredients. The restaurant boasts a Michelin star and is known for its innovative dishes that are both simple and refined.

Tivoli Food Hall: Located near the famous Tivoli Gardens, the Tivoli Food Hall is a bustling spot that hosts a variety of food stalls and eateries. It's perfect for those looking to sample a wide range of cuisines, from classic Danish dishes to international foods like sushi and burgers.

Copenhagen Street Food on Paper Island (Papirøen): Although currently in the process of relocation, this street food market is a haven for foodies. It offers an eclectic mix of international street foods, from Mexican tacos to Korean bibimbap. The atmosphere is laid-back and lively, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists.

Fiskebaren: For seafood lovers, Fiskebaren in the trendy Meatpacking District is the place to go. The restaurant serves a variety of fish and shellfish dishes, sourced from sustainable fisheries and local suppliers. The informal setting and emphasis on quality ingredients make it a favourite among seafood enthusiasts.

Aamanns 1921: For a taste of traditional Danish cuisine, Aamanns 1921 is the ideal choice. Known for its smørrebrød, the restaurant offers a modern twist on this classic Danish dish, with a variety of toppings and homemade breads.

Grød: If you're looking for something cosy and comforting, Grød is the first port of call. This restaurant specialises in porridge, but not as you know it. From risotto to daal, Grød transforms simple ingredients into hearty and delicious meals.

Copenhagen's dining scene is as diverse as it is innovative, offering something for every palate and preference. Whether you’re seeking a luxurious dining experience, a casual meal, or a taste of traditional Danish fare, Copenhagen's restaurants, cafés, and food markets provide a rich culinary landscape to explore and enjoy.
