What Does $100 Get You in Stockholm? | Sweden Travel Budget

What does $100 get you in Stockholm...really? Sweden is an expensive place, so let's see what you can get for $100 in the most expensive city in Sweden.

In this video I explore what transportation around the city costs, what more or less typical souvenirs cost, and what some touristy activities will set you back. I also check out a Swedish marketplace, typical Swedish food, and - most importantly - how much beer costs in Stockholm.

Ever wondered what a viking helmet costs in Old Town? Or what a Dala Horse is? Or what typical Swedish kebab pizza looks like? Or how many of your internal organs you have to sell to afford to drink alcohol in Stockholm? Then this video is for you.

Stockholm For ONLY $87 Per Day | Sweden Budget Travel Guide

I've already covered the top 10 free things to do in Stockholm, and the top 10 things to do under $30. This time I decided to cover how you could visit stockholm for only $87 per day - including accommodation.

For more videos every week, subscribe to the channel:

Also, join the Three Star Vagabond Facebook group to discuss upcoming videos:

In this video I cover everything you need for a visit to the capital of Sweden: where to stay, where to eat, places to drink, and things to do. And I show you how you could make it happen for less than $100 per day.

When it comes to accommodation I describe some different options, ranging from more than 4000 SEK per night at Grand Hotel, to the cheapest suitable hotel in Kista, to hostels in the city center - and on boats as well.

Stockholm has excellent public transport, so I also describe the different tickets you can buy if you're visiting for a week or a weekend. But I also mention some alternatives, such as walking or day passes for electric scooters.

There's of course a lot to do in the city as well, from Gamla stan, the Old Town, to the lovely islands of Djurgården and Långholmen. Aside from all the free activities, I also list options such as visiting the open-air musem Skansen, or kayaking in the city center, or taking a trip to the archipelago by boat. I'm counting on you wanting several activities per day in this budget.

Top 10 free things to do in Stockholm:

Top 10 thing under €30 in Stockholm:

We mustn't forget food as well. This budget won't include any luxury restaurants, but I'm still listing many different options for breakfast, lunch and dinner - including both some Swedish classics as well as more international cuisine. All at a very affordable price.

And last but not least, you want to find some cheap beer as well. It IS possible to find decently-priced drinks in Stockholm if you know where to look... Alcohol is ridiculously expensive in general in Sweden, but after watching this video you might be able to afford a few pints anyway.

Living cost in Sweden ???????? #diamondstar #sweden #livingcost

Embarking on a student journey in Sweden demands a savvy approach to both academia and finances. Let's decode the Swedish Kronor dance with this breakdown:

**Living Costs:** Roughly SEK 9,450/month. While Sweden leans towards the pricey side, your monthly spend is a personal adventure shaped by lifestyle, habits, and location. Housing takes the lion's share.

**Groceries/Food:** Budgets vary widely – from a thrifty 1000 SEK/month for the culinary minimalist to a heartier 2000 SEK/month for the pizza enthusiast. Tips? Master the art of thrifty cooking, freeze strategically, and make communal dining your mantra.

**Books:** University materials often find a digital home, but if you fancy physical books, dive into the world of second-hand or glean wisdom from seasoned students.

**Student Union Fee:** Joining? Fees range from SEK 50-350, unlocking a trove of student activities and discounts. It varies by university, so a chat with your local union is advisable.

**Transportation:** In small towns, friends may opt for bikes or walks. In cities, consider a monthly ticket – test the waters initially. New student deals often grace the first months.

**Mobile and Gym:** Mobile plans are student-friendly, so explore your options. Gyms are affordable, but Sweden's free gym is its nature. Hiking, running, and walking are ingrained norms. Some student housing even flaunts in-built gyms and saunas!

**Leisure:** Your budget, your rules. Suggest cost-sharing activities with friends, dive into after-work deals, and balance it out with picnics and dinners. Balance is the mantra of the Swedish lifestyle.

**Extras and Last Advice:** Initial costs might pinch, but don't fret – settle in, and equilibrium will follow. Consider bulk buying hygiene products at the start. For clothing, either shop back home or delve into the treasure trove of budget-friendly finds in second-hand stores.

**Monthly Student Budget Breakdown:**
- Food: SEK 2,500
- Accommodation: SEK 4,500
- Local travel: SEK 550
- Phone/internet: SEK 400
- Miscellaneous: SEK 1,500
= Total: SEK 9,450
