Every year, the travel magazine Travel + Leisure releases its World’s Best Awards, based on a survey that includes responses from thousands of experienced travelers. This year Paros was voted best island in Europe once again. But with 6,000 islands in Greece alone, what makes this island the best one in Europe? Explore CORFU ISLAND - Greece
Corfu (Greek: Κέρκυρα, Corfu) is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea. It is the second largest of the Ionian Islands, the island is part of the Corfu regional unit, which includes the island of Corfu and the smaller islands of Ereikusa, Matraki and Otonoi. The island's capital is also called Corfu.
The history of the island is filled with battles and conquests. The legacy of these battles is visible in the form of castles that penetrate strategic locations across the island. Two of these castles enclose its capital, which is the only city in Greece that is surrounded in this way. As a result, the capital of Corfu was officially declared Castropolis (castle town) by the Greek government.
In 2007, the town's old town was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Corfu is a very popular tourist destination. Until the beginning of the 20th century, it was mainly visited by European royalty and elites, and today it is also visited by middle-class families, leading to mass tourism.

The BEST of CORFU (GREECE) | History, Beaches, Greek Food, James Bond 007 | Corfu Travel Vlog
For our second day in Corfu, we start with a bit of history at Gardiki Castle - one of the few ruins in Corfu. For lunch, we check out Sirens Bar Bistro and spend a couple hours relaxing at the blue flag beach, Marathias Beach. Next on the agenda, of course, we check out the locations used in the James Bond film For Your Eyes Only. You can find the first one, Kaiser's Bridge, only a few minutes north of Benitses (a cute little fishing village which used to be Corfu's nightlife hotspot in the 80's). The second, is the balcony at Achilleion Palace! Lastly, our favourite restaurant Aristos. Enjoy!

Corfu, Greece: Exploring The Beautiful Island! (Part 2)
There are so many Things To Do in Corfu! In this week's episode we're on beautiful Corfu in Greece and continuing our exploration of this cultural Ionian Island. We still have our rental car and in this episode we check out The Governor's Olive Mill and Olive Grove, Mr.Honey's bee factory and honey production plant, we check into Corfu Palma Boutique Hotel and get one of the funkiest hotel rooms we've ever had, we also go to Canal d'Amour (Lovers Channel) and have a delicious dinner at Etrusco Restaurant! These are just a few of the things to do in Corfu.
Corfu turned out to be one of our favourite islands in Greece with so much to see and do, beautiful natural drives, lots of unique experiences and of course, stunning beaches!
