We’re in Fès, Morocco’s arts and cultural capital! We’re taking you for a day of eating in the Fes Medina, and then a home-cooking family meal that you’ve never SEEN BEFORE! Make sure to watch until the end for delicious Fes food that will blow your mind!!!

We started our Moroccan Food Tour inside the Fès Medina. It is the largest Medina in the world and is home to over 9000 twisting & narrow alleyways, and is teaming with amazing street food. Here’s the street food we ate:

- Moroccan Yogurt: Eat it with a spoon, or just drink it! This is the perfect way to start a day of eating street food. Made from fresh cow milk, it is light and slightly sweet.

- Chebakia + Various Pastries: Moroccan pastry shaped as a rose, deep fried and covered in honey, rosewater and sesame seeds. These are particularly popular around Ramadan, which is happening now.

- Moroccan Nougat: Spongy, sweet and crunchy from nuts. Moroccan nougat can be found in many varieties of different flavours, colours and nuts.

- Camel Kebabs: We first visited the medina’s camel butcher. He minced the camel meat, seasoned it with spices and herbs and then we took it to Mr. Ayachi, the camel BBQ master. There, Mr. Ayachi created the camel meat into kefta, and grilled them over a super smoky fire. They were absolutely delicious!

- Cactus Fruit (Prickly Pear): Did you know you could eat cactus? This fruit has a deep pink color and has a similar flavour to dragonfruit. The fruit will dye your tongue pink!

After spending the day in the Fes Medina, we went to Riad Jardin Chrifa (where we were staying) to experience a family home-cooked meal. Moroccan Food Tour promised us a very special dish! When we arrived, the chef from Jardin Chrifa started preparing a traditional Fes dish: Tihane (stuffed spleen). The spleen is first cleaned out then is stuffed with minced beef, liver, eggs and Moroccan spices & herbs. Once it is overflowing with stuffing, the spleen is then sewed shut. It is roasted in the oven and served as one GIANT MOROCCAN SAUSAGE!

The Tihane was served alongside a HUGE spread of traditional Fassi dishes. It was an amazing experience to eat with everyone like a family. After dinner, we were also served Fassi style desserts.

We would like to say a big thank you to Riad Jardin Chrifa for the incredible hospitality and delicious Moroccan food. We highly recommend checking them out for a traditional Fes experience:

If you want to experience Morocco like we did, make sure to visit with Moroccan Food Tour. This is our second tour across Morocco with them, and we HIGHLY recommend their tours & service: or follow them @MoroccanFoodTour on Instagram and Facebook.

We are taking you on an amazing street food tour through Marrakech, Morocco. This city is full of delicious halal food and is home to one of the most interesting Medinas and the Jemaa el-Fnaa square.

We are starting with brunch at Azalai Urban Souk. This restaurant serves traditional Moroccan fare with a modern twist. Their menu is always different, ingredients are local and organic, and the dishes are colorful and creative. We had the full breakfast spread: classic Moroccan breads, orange juice, mint tea, egg & khlea tagine, smoked chicken quiche and eggs with smoked salmon. Everything was delectable and we highly recommend this place!

Next we are taking you through the Marrakech Medina, which is an extremely ancient city. Hidden street food stalls dot the twisting alleyways. We try a few snacks along the way to our lunch spot. We are having smoky meat kebabs - mixed beef & lamb, and liver & fat, loubia (white beans), salad and bread. We also ordered a Marrakech specialty Smen - an aged butter. This shop is the definition of street food stall and does not even have a name, yet is extremely popular with locals all day long.

For dinner, we are taking you to Abraj Bladi, outside of Marrakech’s Medina. This resort is absolutely beautiful, with traditional riad decor, and fantastic food. The chef prepared us a HUGE tagine and tanjia. We were also served a spread of traditional side dishes. It was the perfect end to our amazing trip across Morocco!!! Thank you to the Abraj Bladi family for hosting us. If you’re looking to stay in Marrakech, check out their resort in Marrakech:

Thank you for joining us on this incredible journey! We hope you had just as much fun as we did ALL ACROSS MOROCCO: Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, the Atlas Mountains, the Moroccan Sahara Desert, Dades Valley, Marrakech and everything in between! To start our food tour in Fez, we tried out a few unique foods around the old medina. From briouat and chebakia, to prickly pear fruit and creamy raib, we wandered through the thousands of tiny alleys that make up this maze of a medina where you can find some of the best street food in Morocco.

A popular Moroccan food is camel, but here in Fes we had it in a very unique way, as a dumpling. We went to Restaurant Bouayad, the only Chinese restaurant in the medina of Fes, to try their unique camel dumplings. These camel dumplings were unlike anything we’ve ever tasted, very favourful and tasty, a unique twist on a popular Moroccan food.

We continued our food tour in Fez, Morocco, exploring the streets of the city, looking for unique street foods to taste.

A Moroccan food tour would be incomplete without a pastilla, but this one with a twist! This unique street food is usually made with pigeon, but the version at Fondouk Bazaar here in Fes is made as a duck confit pastilla. This duck confit pastilla was super flavourful and very unique!

We hope you enjoy this unique food tour in Fez, Morocco, tasting some interesting dishes like camel dumplings and duck confit pastilla. There’s so much unique street food in Fes to try, we had such a great day tasting our way around the city. Stay tuned for more street food in Fes next week!

The medina of Fes is quite the sight to behold, full of vendors and shopping, leather and spices, street food and popular Moroccan foods galore, it’s something for the senses. Today we had a mission, however, to taste some of the most extreme Moroccan street food in Fes, and boy did we ever!

We started our food tour of Fez, Morocco at a local barbeque shop grilling up meat, offal, and cow heart. The cow heart he prepared was extremely large! We tasted some flavourful meats and extreme dishes, we couldn’t get over the size of the cow heart!

Walking around looking for flavourful, tasty, and delicious street foods in Fes was an easy task. We tasted some of the most extreme Moroccan street food in Fes, trying snails, camel spleen stuffed with beef, lamb, and chicken, and dried meats.

On our food tour of Fez, Morocco we stopped at a steamed sheep head stall, where we had half a sheep head, and we ate everything! Eating a steamed sheep head can be daunting because it looks back at you, but the sheep head meat is extremely tender and flavourful, so worth the stares.

We rounded out our extreme food tour in Fes trying the famous Fassi dish of pigeon pastilla. This traditional extreme Moroccan street food was on our bucket list to try, and it was even more tasty than we imagined. This needs to be on your top list of foods to eat in Fes, Morocco.

We hope you enjoy checking out some of the most extreme Moroccan street food in Fes, coming along with us while we eat sheep head and cow heart, and many other interesting and yummy foods. This was one extreme food tour of Fez, Morocco. Stay tuned next week for more street food adventures in Morocco!

In today’s video, join us in Chefchaouen with our friends from Moroccan Food Tour & Tour Guide Youssef (IG: a city in the north of Morocco known for its beautiful blue colours painted on every street and wall. The entire old city is painted in different tones of blue, which is complemented by bright orange trees and lush green plants. In this episode, we will be showing you the beauty of Chefchaouen and also the amazing food it has to offer. Chaouen is a unique destination in Morocco, and its street food and local dishes should NOT be missed.

We’re first taking you to a cafe for a local “Chaouen” style breakfast. This includes fried eggs, shaved beef sausage, olives, baked breads, honey and jam. In April, oranges are in season which means you can get a huge mug of fresh squeezed orange juice anytime. We also ordered Moroccan mint tea. This cafe had a beautiful view of the “two horns” mountain peaks and the river Fouara.
80 MAD (USD $8.96) for 2

Next, we entered the medina to try local street foods. We started with “caliente” which is a hot chickpea pie. After we stopped at a traditional cookie stall to try ginger & cinnamon cookies, an avocado smoothie with sweets known as Zaa Zaa, and then more Moroccan mint tea.
Prices in order: 1 MAD (USD $0.11) per caliente, 1 MAD (USD $0.11) per cookie, 12.10 MAD (USD $1.36) for Zaa Zaa, Mint Tea: free

We dropped into an Amazigh artisanal home to see how the local carpets and blankets are weaved with real wool. After watching the weaving process by Youssef, we purchased a blanket that had the traditional Amazigh tribal designs incorporated into it.
900 MAD (USD $100)

Next, it was time for a local style lunch. We ordered 2 tagra (similar to tajine, but used for dishes that cook fast like seafood). One with shrimp, and one with anchovies. These tagra were paired with fried anchovies, and Lubia (white beans).
70 MAD (USD $7.84)

We continued exploring the city, stopping by the Kasbah and Outa el Hammam, before visiting a local vendor selling seasonal fruits and vegetables. As the sun started to set over Chefchaouen, we started hiking up the mountain to arrive at Chefchaoen’s Spanish Mosque, which isn’t in use, but it used to be a church. Now, it’s popular among locals and tourists to visit at sunset. This location provides the best view over the entire blue city, while the sun goes over the mountains.

If you want to experience Morocco like we did, make sure to visit with Moroccan Food Tour. This is our second tour across Morocco with them, and we HIGHLY recommend their tours & service: or follow them @MoroccanFoodTour on Instagram and Facebook.

We are so excited to be back here eating MOROCCAN STREET FOOD with our friends from Moroccan Food Tour. We are starting this amazing series in the capital of Morocco - Rabat, and hitting the streets instantly to eat tons of MOROCCAN STREET FOOD!

Join us in Rabat’s ancient Medina for traditional Rabat street foods. In this video we are trying:

Rziza - which roughly translates to turban, and is made of wheat “noodles” wrapped up like a turban with honey drizzled on top
15 MAD (USD $1.67)

Freshly Squeezed Juice - Seasonal fruit grows in abundance in Morocco, and you can find juice stalls everywhere. We tried mixed, lemon and orange juice.
8 MAD (USD $0.89)

Mille Feuille - In Rabat, there is a strong influence of French cuisine, and the desserts reflect that. We tried a delicious Moroccan version of mille feuile with our juice.
6 MAD (USD $0.67)

Moroccan Lunch - We visited a local lunch shop inside the Medina to try a traditional lunch. We tried fried sardines (fresh from the nearby river), makouba (fried potato balls), fried egg plant & pepper, as well as harissa (spicy sauce). All these ingredients are combined into a delicious sandwich.
30 MAD (USD $3.35)

Chicken Liver - You’ll find street food stalls throughout the Medina serving fried chicken liver. We sampled a small piece because we still had a lot of eating to do!
Free Sample

Steamed Cow/Lamb Head - Another street food we found within the Medina was a cow/lamb head sandwich. The meat was steamed and spiced with cumin and chili. It was scooped into fresh bread to create a sandwich. It was surprisingly delicious.
10 MAD (USD $1.12)

Moroccan Spices - We stopped into a local spice shop to learn about what spices are commonly used in Moroccan cuisine. Ras el hanout is among the most notable spice blend used in Moroccan cuisine.

Pickle Cocktail - One of the most amazing shops we visited in the Medina was a pickle lover’s paradise. Olives, preserved lemons, pickled vegetables and so much more! We tried a mix of pickled beets, potato, and eggplant in a beet juice. It was amazing.
5 MAD (USD $0.56)

Moroccan Feast - Finally, we visited Dar el Medina: ( which serves amazing traditional Moroccan dishes. They prepared us a massive spread of couscous, beef tagine, chicken and olive tagine, rfissa, fish pastilla and of course Moroccan side dishes and salads. The food was absolutely incredible, and Dar el Medina provided us with a warm welcome. Thank you!

This series is going to INCREDIBLE! We are taking you ALL ACROSS MOROCCO: Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, the Moroccan Sahara Desert, Dades Valley, Marrakesh and much more! Eating with NOMADS in the SAHARA DESERT ???????? Medfouna (Berber Pizza) in Morocco!!

???????? We travelled to Morocco with Moroccan Food Tour - They have amazing food tours and cooking classes across Morocco (Marrakech, Rabat, Casablanca, Fes and MORE). Go check them out :

We’re in the Moroccan Sahara, far from the lush green forests and vibrant Atlantic coastline that we saw in previous episodes. The Sahara Desert stretches over one third of the African continent, spanning the borders of 11 countries. Being the largest “hot desert” in the world, the scorching heat, arid landscapes and sparse vegetation make it a challenging place for humans to inhabit; yet it is home to two million people, most of which are nomadic. In this video, we want to highlight what life is like for these Amazigh nomadic people living in the Moroccan Sahara.

Step back in time with us at a local souk (Marché Central Rissani), where nomads bring their products from surrounding villages by donkey. We will be stopping by a street food stall that makes the most DELICIOUS Medfouna (Berber Pizza). We ordered beef and also a vegetarian Medfouna. We will show the full preparation of this stuffed Moroccan pizza, and enjoy it with Moroccan Mint Tea. We will also visit a camel farm that produces fresh camel milk, and try it straight from the camel!!!

We will then take you DEEP into the desert, where we will be taking an adrenaline pumping ATV ride across the golden dunes. Then, a visit to a nomadic family to learn about how they live in such harsh conditions, their day-to-day challenges, and what their future will look like. The matriarch of the family kindly welcomed us and we enjoyed a bowl of couscous and tea under a camel-skin tent. Couscous is the staple dish for Amazigh nomads, as the couscous is easy to make and transport.

We will then hop on camels to see the dunes from a different perspective, while watching the sunset over the town of Merzouga. This was a spectacular experience for us and we hope you’ll enjoy this episode from Morocco!

If you want to experience Morocco like we did, make sure to visit with Moroccan Food Tour. This is our second tour across Morocco with them, and we HIGHLY recommend their tours & service: or follow them @MoroccanFoodTour on Instagram and Facebook.

No Marrakech Morocco street food tour is complete without a visit to an underground pit where they roast whole entire lambs on a spit. This Marrakesh underground pit whole lamb roast specialty is one of the most popular foods in Morocco, and is up there with some of the best street food in the country.

We started off our day with a traditional Moroccan breakfast in Gueliz, before heading to a local place in the neighbourhood to watch the entire process of mechoui, the underground pit whole lamb roast. From the delivery of the whole lambs, we saw them butchered, put on a spit, lowered into the flaming hot underground pit, where they are sealed off with mud until the whole lamb is roasted to perfection.

The mechoui underground pit whole lamb roast is something that is special to Marrakech and a must try for anyone wanting to try some authentic, local street food in Marrakesh. The tastes and flavours are insane, with so much juiciness and tenderness to the meat, we were blown away by how tasty and delicious it was.

We hope you enjoy this Marrakech Morocco street food tour trying the mechoui underground pit whole lamb roast and traditional Moroccan breakfast in Morocco. Stay tuned for more street food adventures next week!
