A hot and steamy visit to the Colorado Railroad Museum Golden, CO w/ DRGW F9A 5771 + more 06/21/17

Visiting my dad for the week, I wasn't going to forget to go to the Colorado Railroad Museum. There is both standard gauge and narrow gauge equipment here focusing on the later more as the railroads through the mountains were mainly narrow gauge. It was quite hot out on this day so I didn't spend to long outside though I saw pretty much everything that was accessible. My favorites include the Denver and Rio Grande Western F9A 5771 and it's F9B partner that once led the ski train and Denver and Rio Grande Western 318 a narrow guage steam engine. Quite amazing as some of the cars and engines are very old and most of them are in good condition. I did walk arounds of many of the outdoor displays including some at the roundhouse plus the insides of some of the cabooses. The model railroad layout in the basement is cool and including a working carnival. I will be heading to the Colorado Model Railroad Museum before I come back home so look for that in the coming days. Enjoy and don't forget to comment and subscribe.
